Wetin dey worry this moukandjo sef? We are still just rising and una don dey fear.... By next year when we are fiercer, stronger and more cohesive nko?? Anyway, Africa haven't seen anything yet... #Dawn_Of_A_New_Era #NewSuperGoldenGeneration #GreatSuperEagles ....................................................................... No Team In Africa Wants To Face Super Eagles Now – France Based Cameroonian Star Confesses The recent run of the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers is sending shock waves across Africa, with Cameroonian forward Benjamin Moukandjo confessing that teams don’t want to play the Super Eagles at least for now. Since the appointment of coach Gernot Rohr, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are yet to taste defeat, winning their three games under the German coach, with two coming in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers. Super Eagles are top of their group four points more than Cameroon, who they will be facing in August next year, and Moukandjo who plays for French side Lorient says they are lucky they are not playing Nigeria now. ”The fixture favours us a bit. We are lucky that we won’t play Nigeria anytime soon, who are in top form and shape at the moment. We are yet to pick up a win and we can’t say we are high in confidence like them, no team in Africa wants to face them now” He said. ** I once spoke of the "fear factor" returning soon for The Super Eagles... It's happening gradually but in Sir Icon4s' voice, "we are not there just yet" ** ”Anything can happen from now till next year. We will definitely not going to give up on being at the World Cup in Russia, it’s too early to do that. There are lot of games that could go in our favour”. ** We shall see naa... Na we wey wan give up or slow down abi?? We go see ** Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2016/11/22/no-team-in-africa-wants-to-face-super-eagles-now-france-based-cameroonian-star-confesses/ 1 Like |

safarigirl: I've known Dembele since he was 16 and brought from PSG to Fulham. He is the best striker I have seen in the U18 category over the last 5yrs. He is closer to 21 now. But he played regular U16, U18, U21 I haven't checked the stats but he probably scored the most goals at U18 level in the history of the competition. He is considerably better than Kelechi. Remember he played two seasons in the championship(very physically demanding and hard)as a teenager. He is very composed and is comfortable shooting with both feet. Kelechi is an excellent player but Dembele is ahead of him. I could talk about areas he needs to improve but that may be considered to be subjective by some. Watch the January transfer window and see the bids that will come in for Dembele. 1 Like |

kingphilip: That's quite obvious in general the average English player is technically deficient. There is much greater emphasis on strength, stamina and pace. They have a very good team ethic and discipline but not on individual technical ability. the style is predominantly kick and rush, pass and move. The ball is almost considered to be a hot potato to be quickly released. 1 Like |

Antonio Conte Baffled Jose Mourinho Wrote Off “Incredible” Chelsea Star Antonio Conte says he finds it "incredible" that Victor Moses was written off at Chelsea, insisting he could see the Nigeria international's quality at once. Moses joined Chelsea in 2012 from Wigan Athletic, with the Blues splashing out a fee of around £9m to secure his services. The winger featured under Roberto Di Matteo and then Rafael Benitez, however his Chelsea career took a turn for the worse when Mourinho walked back into Stamford Bridge. Loan spells at Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United followed, but this season Conte has made Moses a key man at Chelsea, the Nigeria international operating on the flank as a wing- back in a 3-4-3 formation. And Conte is baffled that Moses' qualities were overlooked before he arrived, as he insists he could see them from day one in pre-season. "I could see his potential from the first days of the summer training camp", he told Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport. Moses has become a key man at Chelsea under Conte this season, helping the Blues to hit top spot in the Premier League at the weekend. Still just 25 years old, Moses broke onto the scene in English football in 2007 after coming through the youth academy at Crystal Palace. komekn: I asked if they weren't mates, not who was better. As great as you think Dembele is, if he was in City, e go dey chop bench. He's shining in Celtic for a reason. That's why I said Kelechi should go to another club, a smaller one where he can start (and there are many) If Dembele is better than Kelechi, it's not by as wide a gap as you want us to believe, they are still within the same age range, only that one has been exposed to European style longer than the other 2 Likes |

This man speaks from both sides of his mouth. Isssssshhhhhh he's got no dignity. Nigeria: Dalung Preaches Unity, Sees Bright Future for Super Eagles Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, believes Nigeria has all it takes to not only qualify for the Russia 2018 World Cup, but also be among the top contenders in FIFA's biggest event. But that can only happen when all the stakeholders come together to help the Super Eagles achieve their potential. Nigeria is currently at the top of Group B of the qualifying series with six points, four ahead of second-placed Cameroun after two matches. The minister, who spoke in Lagos on Sunday, said the Super Eagles made a huge statement by defeating Zambia in Ndola in their first match and underlined their readiness to pick the sole ticket from the group with a resounding 3-1 win over Algeria in Uyo. Thrilled by the progress of the team in the qualifying series, Dalung said Nigeria can win the race to Russia and go further than the second round in Russia. "I am convinced that our performance in the qualifying series will not only earn us the ticket to the World Cup, but take us far in the competition proper. "We have not been playing only for qualification but doing everything possible to make sure we go far in Russia. We want to see how we can help this team achieve its aim, we are doing a lot of strategic things to realise this dream and what is required more is for Nigerians to support this team," he said. The minister refuted the report that he said Nigeria had no business attempting to qualify for the World Cup, saying that he is solidly behind the Eagles making it to Russia. "I think the content of the interview was taken out of context. I granted the interview four months ago where I was reacting to the prospect of African nations in global administration as to where we stand. "For the first time Nigeria defeated Zambia at their backyard, and if anyone is to be fair to Dalung, you can't question our commitment and support to this team but I know many people have been misinformed by the narratives that was given, I want to tell them that this is not what we said and it is important we all come together in the interest of Nigerian sport," he said. allafrica.com/stories/201611220903.html |

Nigeria: Eagles Will Be Ready for Cameroon Clash - Rohr Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, has allayed fears that the team will be match rusty before the next 2018 World Cup qualifying match against Cameroon in August 2017. Rohr who gave an insight on how he plans to prepare his team before Nigeria's back to back World Cup 2018 qualifiers against Cameroon next year insisted that the players will have enough time to prepare, adding that he will also use the opportunity of the 2019 AFCON qualifying matches which will also commence in March 2017 to prepare the players. Nigeria currently lead group B of the CAF World Cup 2018 qualifying series, but failure to qualify for next year's Africa Cup of Nations made fans to raise concerns over the fitness of the players ahead of the World Cup qualifiers in August 2017. However, Rohr has played down such notion, saying the AFCON 2019 qualifiers which will take place in March next year will be a veritable test ground to help his team gel before the World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon. He also noted that the friendly game against Egypt on January 9, 2017 in Dubai, will play a big part in the players that would be selected for the competitive games next year. "We have a match with Egypt in Dubai for them to prepare for the AFCON," he said, allafrica.com/stories/201611220717.html |

Guardiola still has a lot to teach Iheanacho. After the improvements in Sterling, Kolarov, Stones and Nolito, it is clear Nacho will grow under Guardiola. I do not think this is the right time to look for praises but a time to grow into one of the best players in the World. |

safarigirl: Nacho can not go with the tag, not practice it. He needs the competition to improve. Learn from the old players and the youngsters with immense ability. Training with De Bruyne, Sane and Gabriel Jesus will do Nacho a whole lot of good. With reports of the possible arrival of more stunning talents like Leon Bailey and Thorgan Hazard, Nacho will definitely improve in quality. I say he stays and trains. Focus on improving everyday. |

“It’s crazy how players raised in the system, by the system are allowed to play for other countries at senior level. They should be a proper plan in place to forestall it. It is looking like a regular occurrence these days”, he said. ” For example it hurts seeing Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses play for Nigeria. Particularly when you narrow it down to how much an asset they would be for England if they have played for us”. -Trevor Sinclair.. Someone should tell trevor that they still have Onuoha, Carlton Cole, Agbonlahor and Hybe. 1 Like |

If their system was so awesome, they wouldn't need to be stealing immigrants to boost their team. There are over 50 English players with English parents in the Premier League, they should stop trying to shine with other people's descendants 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: Improve in quality with zero game time? He's not an 18-year old Academy fresher, he can improve on the pitch. Sterling was getting regular games at Liverpool at Kelechi's age as a starter. His continued benching will eventually lead to useless teams bidding for him I'm just waiting till January for Gabriel Jesus, the game time he gets will tell me all I need to know |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:50pm On Nov 22, 2016 |
safarigirl: It is a long-term project and Kelechi Iheanacho will get playing time. He just needs to keep improving. Keep learning and understanding the tactics. He should welcome the competition for Gabriel Jesus and whoever comes in. I did not say Iheanacho is an Academy player but he can keep improving if he keeps working hard. Sane who is another promising talented lad is also not having regular time. Same with Aleix Garcia. Their time will come but now is the time to keep learning. 2 Likes |

TheGoodJoe:he hasn't played in 3 games now, not even as a sub. Aren't you even slightly disturbed by that? Don't examine the situation as a City fan, look at it from the angle of a Nigerian fan. Young or not, he needs the kind of game time his mates get instead of learning from his mates. The likes of Sane aren't even on their National team roster while Kelechi is a starter for us, we should be bothered by his lack of game time |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:51pm On Nov 22, 2016 |
safarigirl: I am not bothered because I know he gains more in camp than games with weaker teams where he will get praises but not improve massively. With Yaya Toure's recent performance, it shows how a player can stay conditioned without game time. Toure dropped 8kg during the time Guardiola froze him out. As long as Nacho works everyday in training with Guardiola, he will keep improving and getting better. When he gets a run, he will show improvement. Just as Nasri showed in the game he played for City this season. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by komekn(m): 11:11pm On Nov 22, 2016 |
safarigirl: The issues of mates or age group are not value drivers for outright quality in football. Dembele is two footed, robust, with physical presence, fast and more. In reality he is an out an out clear cut striker. Kelechi in my opinion is not an out an out striker. I also feel he is not that comfortable shooting with his right. If he leaves city I would advise he goes to Spain he is not built to play up front alone, can not impose himself physically on the game and have dominance. If he stays in the premiership he will not be going to the big five. That means he will struggle and may find himself not starting. The premiership is the most physically demanding league in the world. Being exposed to European football does not count.I know too many players from Spain, Italy, Portugal, etc who are seasoned professional players, who cannot cut it in the Premiership even the Championship. Finally if Dembele was in Man city he will not be on the bench. |
