safarigirl: Firstly, I see footballers first without the consideration of nationality. You could accuse me of bias with regard to Nigerian and African players. Mainly because I have first hand up close and personal experience of thier struggles. I remember very clearly when Anichebe fractured his leg. I remember how Moyes treated Yobo when he went to Afcon and he lost his position. I know how Moyes relegated Hope Akpan to the background cause they wanted to push forward Rodwell. I remember when Martinez lied to the press that Pienarr was injured and froze him out for a whole season. I empathise more with African players. Fast forward to West Bromwich and Anichebe, he had a few injuries wasn't getting enough game time and the arrival of Martinez spelled doom. He also didn't get much game time at West Bromwich so he could never really get match sharpness. For the first time in near three years plus Anichebe is getting a run of games. He will improve vastly I believe if he can stay injury free. He presents a potent option for Nigeria a true target man for when the going gets tough. Comments about him “I don’t think there’s anyone better with their back to goal than Anichebe. “Backing into a centre-back, getting the ball to his feet - I played against him and he’s an absolute nightmare.” Jamie Carragher. |

England Youth International Iorfa Not Under Consideration By Nigeria Despite Full Back Issues Despite what looks like a mini crisis for Nigeria in the area of full backs, coach of the Nigeria senior national team Gernot Rohr is not looking the way of England youth international Dominic Iorfa, who is eligible for Nigeria. Iorfa is the son of former Nigeria international Dominic Iorfa, who has long said his son would decide his international future once he reached a particular age, but for now he is focused on progressing through the youth ranks of the English national team. **I remember he said 22-23 yrs** However the coach of the Super Eagles Rohr is keen on having options at both left and right full back, and Iorfa who has been a regular for Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers as a full back is currently not under consideration. Owngoalnigeria.com gathered that the manager who will be in England soon for talks with Chelsea teen star Ola Aina and couple of other players with Nigerian heritage, won’t check on the 21-year old Iorfa. In the past he was invited to train with the Nigeria U23 team before the start of the Olympics qualifiers for the Rio event but declined as he was just making headway into the first team of Wolverhampton Wanderers when the call up came. He is teammate to Nigeria number one shot stopper Carl Ikeme, another player born in the UK, but opt for Nigeria, where he is first choice since the retirement of Vincent Enyeama. Mickael2: I can not believe you wrote this. You will advise Iheanacho to leave training and working everyday with Guardiola. Then go to Benitez in the Championship. Or work with Pardew or Howe. Iheanacho is at the perfect place. We saw him against Algeria operate at a higher level than any player on the pitch when it comes to pressing. Players like Gundogan are coming to City to train with Guardiola and you are advising Iheanacho to leave. |

Dembele is African specifically from Mali. I use to watch Kelechi at city in the U18's and I admit to seeing Dembele a lot more than Kelechi. The difference between the two in my opinion is that Dembele is a an out and out striker. Believe you me Dembele is strong. They are different types of players Kelechi would be more suited to Liverpool type of play where strikers just like city play almost like attacking midfielders. For that reason Balotelli, Benteke as good as they are will not fit into a Man city team with Guardiola. Finally, the other aspect you will not know about is the behind the scenes politics. What you may have to appreciate it the business and money. Then consider this who is the agent bringing in players to compete for the forward line up Guardiola's brother is a football agent even works with proxies and he is a big big deal breaker. NUFF SAID. That's my worry for Kelechi. |

TheGoodJoe:yea Anichebe need to be consistent but a fit and injury free Anichebe can lead Eagles attack any day, there is no need to compare Anichebe and Iheanacho coz they are on different level. On iheanacho i understand your point and it's either he develop as a better player under Guadiola or go to a good club and have a playing time.I don't want nacho to be used like chicharito of then Man u,it's like wasting a talent. The new Super Eagles need regular playing player that's where Mikel must move in January or else he lose his shirt. Am seeing new era where player like Aluko w come in and take shirt from Nacho.Nacho is one of d rock of new eagles and it w not be acceptable seeing him always on d bench. The rules Rohr applied to Mikel cannot be extended to all players coz Mikel 11 years experience in d national team is d key giving him d nod but come January he must move to continue enjoy d privilege. |

TheSuperNerd: No need to waste funds, he mustn't visit everyone. If he's that interested, he could have informed Ikeme who would in turn inform Rohr. Players who have access to Super Eagle's players in their teams, have an easy access to NFF, if one indicates interest, Rohr will see them. I assume Iorfa hasn't indicated interest, so onward we go. |

I mean check it out, He's never quoted me I'm kinda envious if you ask me... Sir Clefstone.... I remembered when you jumped in and quoted Safari during the Dele Alli family gossip show (thanks goodness that's over now) and even hit on a sensitive matter about her mom's death as nothing compared to Dele Alli's situation. I did tell you to back off and like a gentleman, you kinda did. For that, I'm grateful. Now you're back and it's to quote yet again just Safarigirl.... Mehn! I dont know if, again, I am the only one seeing some comedy in this. If you like the lady, then take it easy man (even if you dont, still take it easy)... Plsss... Dont go all hovering over her every comment. It's sometimes interesting to note and observe that Safarigirl is the only reason some monikers comment on this thread. Mehn! I think I berra change my moniker and gender.... Na wa oooo.... I know you kinda like her or just find her "interesting enough" to "always quote". So pleaseeeeeee, Find a way to just strike an intellectually-vibrant conversation with her devoid of subtle attacks so that we will all benefit..... Thank you. safarigirl: 1 Like |

Kog45: The point is better player. Iheanacho will keep improving at a faster rate at City under Guardiola. Just like in the game against Bournemouth, we saw phenomenal work rate. Is the regular playing time to count minutes on the pitch or improve as a player? If it is to improve as a player, then City is the perfect option for Nacho. |

Aluko is a really nice guy, excellent player he just got an award if I'm right best player of the month in the championship. In my opinion Fulham and Newcastle play the best football in the championship. Watched them a few months ago give Hope Akpans Blackburn a complete football lesson. They even had a 16 year old Ssegnon Ryan playing in left back. However, why do you think Aluko was frozen out of the Eagles despite how good he was Ask our good friend Amokachi and you can guess the rest. I do not like foreign coaches for Nigeria but I have to concede they are mostly bereft of our Naija problems, vested interest, back hand deals, settle. Me to play etc, etc. Rohr has, I have to admit grudgingly, has done an excellent job. |

komekn: This Dembele is African? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moussa_Dembélé_(French_footballer). Dude is as African as the likes of Pogba, Zidane, balotelli, Eder and Dele Alli....it is not enough to be of African descent, when you say a footballer is African, it implies that he plays international football for an African country. Everything about Dembele says France, so I beg to differ, he's not African in the sense we mean |

TheGoodJoe: but Gundogan isn't sitting on the bench. Training is another thing, if it could be possible for him to train with Man city and play for another team at the same time then I am up for it. See, if he goes to another team, and scores maybe 20 goals a season then Guardiola will be criticised if he leaves him on the bench next season when he returns. But as at now, which kind training? Will training help him maintain his sharpness in front of goal? Paco Alcacer trains with Messi and Suarez, yet his finishing abilities are going down, same will happen to Nacho right now 1 Like |

Montella Hands Oduamadi Lifeline At AC Milan After Productive Loan Spell In Finland AC Milan coach Vincenzo Montella has handed out of favour Super Eagles forward Nnamdi Oduamadi a lifeline at the club, to relaunch his once upon a time promising career with the Milan giants. Oduamadi has been on the books of AC Milan since the 2010/2011 season but he has only made one appearance for the team, when he played for five minutes against Catania, way back in 2011. Since then he has endured six different loan spells with five different Serie B sides, namely Torino, Varese (twice on loan), Brescia, Crotone and Latina, but his latest loan spell has opened the door for me to revive his career with AC Milan. “Odu” like he is fondly called in Italy, scored 7 goals and made 28 appearances for Finnish side HJK Helsinki, who finished second on the log behind league winners Mariehamn. His performances during the season alerted the upper end at AC Milan. Coach Vincenzo Montella who has been working on helping the club regained it lost glory has already sounded out the 26 year old Nigerian, about his chances with the team. If he impresses the coach in training, he could be registered by the team in January, when registration of new players gets underway in the Serie A. Pix: Nigeria International, Wilfred Ndidi in action for Genk during a Europa League match. Leicester confident of sealing £20m-rated Wilfred Ndidi in January Wilfred Ndidi. Leicester have tabled a £16million for Genk midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. The Belgian club want £20million for the Nigeria international but the Foxes fully expect to complete a deal early in the January transfer window. The 19-year-old is viewed as one of the brightest prospects in Belgian football and Genk know they are facing a losing battle to keep him. But they are determined to maximise his value when the transfer window reopens with both clubs remaining in contact with a view to concluding a January deal. Ndidi is viewed as the long term replacement for N’Golo Kante, who left for Chelsea in the summer. Claudio Ranieri brought midfielder Nampalys Mendy to the King Power Stadium in a £13m deal last summer, but he has been restricted to just one Premier League appearance so far due to a troublesome ankle injury. It's not compulsory he must develop under Guardiola, remember he was a class under Pellegrin,to me Nacho is a talent any coach w love to have any day. |

TheSuperNerd: if you are asked as a goalkeeper, which of the following players you'd rather face one on one, which one would you choose; Ronaldo Messi Suarez Griezman Iheanacho Neymar Bale Benzema Aguero Lewandowski even Harry Kane. Let's not be biased here at all, Iheanacho isn't part of the deadliest strikers in Europe, that's deadliest as in the most feared, not the most efficient. If you even read that article you'd understand that they meant deadliest as in the most efficient not the most feared. Iheanacho's aerial prowess is poor, we all know that, his weaker foot efficiency isn't great either which is what we all want him to improve upon, right now for me, he isn't among the deadliest strikers in England 1 Like |

safarigirl: Your definition of African is way too narrow of the thousands of African footballers that playe in Europe so until they play for thier national teams they are not African. I know Nigerians that were born in Ajegunle who have become more European than the Europeans. Adopting all things white. France had a historical policy of assimilation that brought Africans into the society. So the French national team is essentially an African team. That will never happen in the UK African origin players are consistently over looked in preference for players with the right attitude (white) I know children who are 2nd generation British Nigerian who speak Yoruba and Ibo and Warri pidgin to the core. And i know many of us who were born in Lagos and cannot speak one Nigerian language. So who is more African? Below a you tube video of PSG U19 team celebrating after the match. This will never happen in England https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHDAGDINqyY 1 Like |

I didnt say "most feared". Why taking the issue that far off tangent? Haba! Ronaldo, Messi, LewanGOALSki, Griezmann, Ageuro, Luis Suarez.... Etc... Are the most feared man!!! Give Nacho a break... He's a youngster still coming up. I said "Deadliest" in terms of how prolific and efficient he is... His Goals-ratio, his performance output per minute on the field. This kid is deadly!!! So plssss.. Dont take it to most feared... That's another arena. Nacho deserve his tag as Europe's deadliest and most prolific according to the stats... "Most feared" has to do with reputation built over the years. Mickael2: 1 Like 1 Share |

Kog45: Iheanacho is developing at a fast rate under Guardiola. Yaya Toure dropped 8kg under Guardiola. Nasri and Aguero dropped weight and showed more movements in their play. In the game against Algeria, his running was off the chain. What you want to see is not development. What you want is seeing Iheanacho showcasing what he has learnt on a regular basis. What I want is for Iheanacho is to continue improving. After that, he can showcase what he has learnt. He is just few months with Guardiola. If Alaba and Lahm who were already some of the best players in the World could improve under Guardiola, then think of how Iheanacho will be in few years with Guardiola. This is something Howe or Pardew can not offer. |

I think Pep saw that playing Iheanacho was affecting Kun's confidence and now he is just keeping him for when Kun is out injured. |
