Yes, you are right. It was on expatforum I saw them. The english test is a challenge for them, buh they dont give a damn as they keep switching from writing PTE to IELTS until they get their desired score. Funny people mctowel01: 2 Likes |

Thanks guys "blushing" @mctowel01 Yes, that's true, my bad. I initially wanted to be assessed as an Engineering Manager however, EA got back to me and said i couldn't apply for that as it is a high level executive position. I was given two options instead - Engineering Technologist or Chemical Engineer. As i wanted to claim points for work experience, I opted for Engineering Technologist. When the outcome was released, EA cut my 3 years work experience to 1 year unfortunately. This is the reason i have been gunning for 20 points in English test as I was left with 55 points after the assessment. @bellong Thanks for everything. You really challenged and encouraged me to give it another shot even when I was down. God bless you. @phlumter01 I received the anointing lol. 3 Likes |

funkyjo:shhhttt!! You should have gone for chemical engineer.. cos technologist now has a very high waiting period...Well, the decision has been made sha...with your 60/65 in chemical, it would have been much easier... But 75 with technologist is really cool. .....Wish you goodluck |

Hello, I don't have information regarding this. Is that your first degree? Isn't MBA a masters? The PR skilled occupations are based on your first (bachelors) degree. Anyway, I hope someone who has good information about your query will reply to it asap. Cheers. James2016: |

James2016: You need to look at the list very well, the degree you have cannot do anything for you with regard to Oz PR. If you really wanna go subclass 189 route then you may need to go back to school and study one of the occupations listed or you can check the CSOL and see if you meet the requirements of any of the occupations that is closely related to what you have presently. Just do a little research yourself, use google. I'll also use this opportunity to state quite clearly and reiterate, your bachelor's degree is not the only degree that you're assessed on, at least not in all professions, if your advanced degree meets the requirements set by the assessing body, then by all means you can apply. People, just make sure you do your research very well, if you're not sure about anything you can mail the body carrying out the assessment or come here on NL and post your questions, anyone with experience will help you with answers to the best of their knowledge. This not to discourage you but to point you in the right direction. Hope you find it useful. Wait! what is your first degree in? 1 Like |

Good morning Please I will like to apply for Australia PR.My questions are stated below and what point do you think I can get. 1, I am 30years old with a missing birth certificate which I believe I can use an affidavit. 2, I am a graduate of Middlesex University with a bachelor's in Accounting with Marketing graduated with a 2nd class upper. 3, I worked as an internal auditor in a firm from 2011 to 2014.But it was with a consultant so we had no pay slip and no contract letter.Since then I ve done small consulting jobs. DO YOU THINK I CAN BE ELIGIBLE FOR A PR IN AUSTRALIA. THANKS |

Age - 30 - 30 points Bachelors - 15 points Experience - IF DEM NO CUT AM O - 5 points ENGLISH - potentially 20 points. You'd JUST make the current Pro-rata cut-off for accounting... So, proceed. 2 Likes 1 Share |

@Mamajaz Amen n Amen. All the best in yours. Receive the anointing @Mctowel01 I already had 10 points for English, this brought me to 55 points. I opted for Engr Tech thinking that i would get 5 points so as to reach the minimum required. Surely, if I had foreseen, I would have gone for Chemical Engineer instead. I was "running" away from writing another English test as I wasn't sure I would get 20 points. So it was safer to go with Eng Tech. @Bnimz Your analysis is right. It was inclusive of the 10 points |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by POTUSUK: 2:10pm On Nov 24, 2016 |
Why did you think you wouldnt have made the 5 points as a Chemical Engineer. I mean, EA has already given you the go ahead to select Eng Tec or Chemical Engineering.... plus i believe your CDR was written based on your Chemical Engineering experience and not Eng Tech. Im i the only one reasoning along that line? funkyjo: |

@potusuk I studied Chemical Engineering however, I work as a Project Control Engineer. Hence, i could not claim 5 points for work experience as a Chemical Engineer. Well, your believe is wrong. |

Hi guys. Please, i need your advice. I have been invited for Canadian and Australian PR (189). I am really confused as to which to pick. I am an IT guy(Java, Web, ASP, C#, Android). I have eyes for Toronto or Melbourne. Married to a Pharmacist with one kid. I have researched my eyes out and read everything there is to read. I still can't decide. I think I am even more confused. I don't think I can afford to apply for both of them now (Buhari has not been nice embarassed). For those that have done this before, what is your opinion. BTW, I'm not afraid of cold weather, so its not really a factor against Canada. Thanks |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Bnimz(m): 3:44pm On Nov 24, 2016 |
ylinkz2020: You're on an Australian thread bros. Understandably, more or less everybody here chose Aussie for a reason which is NOT because they couldn't do Canadian PR.. Safe to say every opinion you get here will be slightly biased in the direction of Australia... With that said, Canada's proximity to the USA and Australia's distance from (more or less) EVERYWHERE are the only reasons I can think of why Canada could be a better option. Personally, I don't fare well in the cold.. (ordinary UK sef na wahala) so that rules out Canada if choice dey. In addition, there's generally more competition in Canada.. And my profession earns more in Australia considering say the currencies are more or less equal. These are a few things you can consider when making your decision.. Congrats on the double blessing. 2 Likes |
