How many times have you seen Tottenham in 2nd or 3rd position at the end of the season in this decade apart from last season ? That should tell you more bro . If we agreed to remove Spurs from the title challengers because they have not been seen in the 2nd position, that means Liverpool too has no place among the chasers because the last time they were seen in the 2nd position after 08/09 was 13/14, and they have been ranking below the same spurs ever since then, so, what's applicable to Spurs is applicable to Pool. airmark:
Quote where i removed liverpool from the race? Good profit there. Now please, kindly avail us the regular six teams that always challenge for the title that make the league head and shoulder above the rest. |

Liverpool has been superb this season and they are strong contenders. They won their matches convincingly this season unlike tottenham. I am not responsible for you misinterpreting my opinion. You should go back to the root of our arguements , tottenham are not contenders, they are pretenders, since their main defender went on injury they have been playing below expectation. Title conteders have depth to some extent in the team. For the past 4 seasons in la liga we have real, barca and atm sharing 1st to 3rd position among themselves while others couldn't lift a finger. Those who stated 6 in epl might be considering this kind of situation in epl among 6 teams that most times dominate the 1st to 6th positions. So you should understand their views. sebod:

Using question to answer question. Nice try. We are almost on same page here bro. If Liverpool are now title contenders because of their position on the log and current form, it's just okay to label Sevilla too as one of the title contenders. If Spurs are suddenly shunted out because of their form and position, then it's save to say Atletico too are not title contenders at least for this season. Using different yardsticks for the leagues is just out of place. Going by this your logic for this season alone, we can conclude the epl is between Liverpool, city and Chelsea as it stands now, thereby making it a 3 horse race. Same goes for la liga which is between Madrid, Barça and Sevilla. As such, it's somewhat out of place to be counting six teams as regular epl challengers. Instead, the teams that sit pretty well on the log should be taken into consideration as the title challengers which might change from time to time. |

What you need to understand is that, Barca and Madrid are the two best teams with quality players (world stars) that no other team comes close, especially in the LaLiga, look at the number of games Barca has lost this season and they are still sitting second comfortably, Sevilla and these other teams don't have the quality and strength of these two powerhouse, they can only cause upsets once in a while and That's all, Barca or Madrid and at times, Atletico will definitely still win the league. Barca has a very rich squad Plus MSN, Madrid has a very rich squad Plus BBC, these other teams just have few quality players. Let's talk about the EPL, the star players aren't concentrated in just City and Chelsea, there was a time when Chelsea players were regarded as average players, Hazard is our best player, better than any of our wingers but most of us would even argue Neymar is way better than him, thats just Neymar o, we haven't included Messi, Suarez, Pique, Iniesta, Mascherano, Busquets etc Man Utd and City spent almost the same amount this last transfer window, yet city is doing well, MAN UTD is failing, do Sevilla, Sociedad, Atm, Valencia have the same spending power of Barca and Madrid? All these EPL top teams have almost equal spending power, talk about Spurs, Pool, Arsenal, City, MAN UTD, Chelsea, these guys have star players scattered all over hence the competitive nature of the league, none of them is a stand out performer just like Barca/Madrid is to the LaLiga, Bayern is to the BLiga or Juventus is the Serie A abi u don forget the number of parties wey hold for our thread last season, see parties wey dey hold for Man Utd thread now, see parties for Arsenal thread. I dunno if you understand me well enough, but trust me, there will always be upsets once in a while, eg Alaves beating Barca, Liezpig beating Bayern but its not always easy for Chelsea/City winning the league....the struggle is always real. You will find Spurs flogging City anyhow, Chelsea will disgrace the same Spurs but city will seriously deal with Chelsea, the same Arsenal that will flog Man city home and away will become toothless against a struggling Man utd/Chelsea, Chelsea will defeat Man Utd for example by a lone goal, but the same Everton that gets pummeled by Man Utd will get 3 unreplied goals against Chelsea, these are just examples of the crazy things that happen in the league, that's why we celebrate winning games and the league like we won the UCL and WC together If you happen to be a punter, the odds these bookmakers give Barca, Madrid, Bayern is always very low just because these teams have a high probabilty of winning their games and they do it comfortably except for the once-in-a-while upsets. I wont say there are 6 title contenders in the EPL but Barca/Madrid are the 'ogas at the top' in laliga, they are way above the others, there is no stand out 'oga at the top in the EPL', its a different ball game here. Fabregas spent 6years at Barca's youth academy,so he also is a La Masia graduate. At 17 you can't still be said to be in the academy, playing for B team doesn't mean you're in the academy, the academy contains players with age less than 15years old, majority of the players in the B team are already professionals. Arsenal signed Fabregas at the age of 16 he's not in any way referred to as an Arsenal academy graduate. I hope you get me! So many people think Wenger have produced lots of academy players but if you really take a look at the players he's produced I can't even think of five Arsenal academy grown players instead he buys them from other clubs at the age of 16-20 and you think he's made players from the academy, even Moroni has graduated more academy players than Wenger. |

Personally, I'm not even counting Liverpool cuz I have this feeling that they're doing initial gragra just like Arsenal. I'm tipping City and Chelsea for the title but it's okay if you add Liverpool. Thank you, to consistently win the league, 95% of the time, you need great and quality, World best players to do that.....no matter how good a coach is.
Ok now, Lets assume Barca, Madrid and Atletico ply their trade in the EPL where we have Pool, Chelsea, MAN UTD, Arsenal, Spurs, Everton
Do u think Man Utd will allow Cr7 to join Madrid in the same league, U think Pool will allow Suarez join Barca in the same league, Sanchez to join Chelsea, U think Chelsea will allow Hazard join Atletico, Spurs will release Bale and Modric to join Madrid in the same league, Lets be honest bro, it won't happen.
These are the best players who left the EPL for the 2 best teams dominating the UCL, look at the number of Ballon D'or that has been won between Ronaldo and Messi alone.
There is a reason these two teams are the best.
You can't fault this except you chose not to be sincere with yourself.

Sevilla, ATM, Valencia that u think are contenders can never drag a quality player with Barca/Madrid except if they would lose their star players to these 2 teams (Isco and Rakitic) comes to mind Chelsea on the other hand can drag Pogba with Man Utd, MAN city, Arsenal, MAN UTD can drag Hazard with Chelsea, Chelsea, City, MAN UTD can all pay to sign a star player like Neymar, Bale, can ATM do the same? |

By my own understanding, coming into the new season, every team has a motive, they all try to win the league, the teams are not of the same quality, since Alaves cannot spend like Barca would, it will only take miracle for them to beat all odds and win the league, but trust me, all the 20 teams are ready to challenge for the title Bournemouth, Burnley, Hull, Middlesbrough?? *faints* |

Neymar is on four yellow cards and will miss the Clasico if he gets booked tomorrow. I like how Luis Enrique is not looking to rest him tomorrow, we'll need all our weapons against Sociedad and Turan can always fill in for Neymar in the Clasico if Neymar gets booked tomorrow. |

Does Spurs and Liverpool or eve Arsenal have the Spending power or City and Man utd
Give me examples this last window, How much did Madrid spend compared to other clubs Don't even go there, Arsenal can afford to buy any star player they want to buy, except if they don't wanna spend. I raised other points you have failed to address. Madrid didn't spend cos they weren't so convinced about getting Hazard, besides they have too many star player on their budget already. |

So how is someone who has but doesnt want to spend, how is he different from someone who doesnt have? Is the money for decoration. Does Arsenal, Spurs or EVerton have the spending power of City or Man Utd? Which other points do you want me to address |
