Find myself in the same boat
Unless you like 5 inch screens, you can't compare both in terms of performance, the redmi note 3 pro is the boss here.

I think you just convince me.... can you help with a good link to an online store with good price and good shipping
Gptech:

Dem nr b mates for any department apart from the more sturdy metallic design on the redmi 4 pro. The redmi note series are always ahead of the redmi series in the ranking. Even if both phones have the same screen size, the redmi note has better hardwares.

I say wait till February

The problem with waiting for a better phone is that there will always be a better phone about to be released around the corner.

One may just end up waiting forever, lol.

Maybe xiaomi should just stick to making a few phones at longer intervals. Too many similar models leading to problem of choice for consumers.

I think I will go for RN3 Special Edition.... just in case Glo 4G reach my side or what do you think?
You can, but I will never consider glo in choosing a device, very unpredictable network! Since I switched to Mtn this week, my battery has been very stable, Glo fluctuates a lot even when the network is good. By the way, they should upgrade their 4G band to the more popular ones, they can't limit me. tongue

But an average user won't notice the performance difference.

Probably only those into games and other hard core stuffs which I don't fall into that category.

Redmi 4 has better battery life, which cuts across all users, it has a better design, and Superior fingerprint sensor and I think the camera is somewhat better too than the that of the note 3.

The only ish is the 5inch screen size,. Hmmn

Performance is noticeable when you multitask heavily not just gaming. I don't do games. You just stated why you prefer the Redmi 4. The Redmi note 3 has better screen to body ratio, even my redmi note 2 is better than the Redmi 4 in that aspect. The Redmi note 3 pro actually has a better battery. Check the endurance rating, 93H against 91H on gsmarena, bugs in recent Redmi note 3 pro is what is responsible for the less efficient battery performance people are complaining about.

The competition is real bro, I don't think so many choices is a problem, it is infact an advantage, the perfect convergence of what you need and the amount you are willing to splash. grin

Xiaomites, i just stumbled on this thread and i must say from what ive seen im in for an awesome experience when i land a mi device, however some of us are on a tight budget so we'd prefer to buy a phone which is affordable as well as moderately okay in terms of functionality, so which phone can kindly be recommended that is not more than $100 tops?

I still doubt an average user will notice the performance difference even with multitasking. Don't under estimate the 625, it's almost equivalent to last year flash ship according to benchmarks.

As per battery, I prefer reviews that state SOT instead of just looking at Gsmarena endurance rating.

In a review, a 720p YouTube video was played via Wi-Fi at a measured screen brightness till the the phone went off. Note 3 got 10hrs SOT while redmi 4 prime got 14hrs SOT. Men, that 4hrs difference in huge by Nigeria standards o.

I agree both phones are great though and I'm tilting more towards note 3 SE

Yea, that's just for video playback via YouTube. Battery test is complex, am sure you know about that. Web browsing, video playback, WiFi, dual sim standby, music via loudspeakers, etc. Different device perform differently in these departments no matter the battery rating. It has a lot to do with optimisation. Endurance rating is like Windows rating for PCs, an average of some of these parameters. Different sites use different parameters, and that of Gsmarena is among the best and you can't go wrong with them. From the review you are referring to, we don't use our phones like that everyday, we rather do more (like a little video playback, plus a little gaming, plus much chatting, plus much web browsing, plus a little music playback, etc). If you consider such usage pattern, you will agree more with Gsmarena, so their endurance ratings still stand out, unless of course you intend to replace your tv with your phone. wink
