lonzo: You also need your appointment letter (the document that shows you're meant to come for the interview). Asides that, any other supporting documents depending on your purpose of traveling. Have a successful interview and Pls do share your transcript tomorrow. |

Someone I know has a B1/B2 USA visa that would expire in April 2016. She didn't get to use the visa during it's validity, but planning on a trip later in September 2016. Last time she traveled to US was in 2013 on an older visa which expired in 2015. She did drop-box for the subsequent and current visa. She wants to re-apply via drop-box for a new visa in April 2016 and has a concern that her not using the prior visa might pose some issues with the consular officer. Is this concern valid? |

Okay I am scheduled for 8.30 but I got their 7 because of Lagos traffic and all, after all the long minutes of standing and all I entered for the interview. I did my finger print and passport photograph scanning and later join the queue for the interview. I was watching all what is happening and how many are been refused, the funniest one I saw that day is the traditional chief with his two adult male children, those guys even put on beads on their neck , it didn't take the blonde woman 40 seconds to denied them. It got to my turn to stand behind the person being interviewed at the moment, the man approved the family before me and it got to my turn which goes as follows Me: Good morning, how are you doing? VO: good morning I am doing good and you Me: I am fine VO: where are you going in the US? Me: I am visiting my aunt who lives at bleep in Georgia for the wedding ceremony of my cousin as he is my cousin and my best friend and I will be the one to represent my family VO: where do you work? Me: I am a bleep and work with Nigeria bleep agency, and explain the function and what I do at work VO: where did you have your training ? Me: I told him I had my training at the work address provide but I stated the address fully for him VO:have you traveled before Me: yes I have been to Ghana for bleep analysis management training VO: are you single or married Me: am single VO: are you the only one going for the wedding in your family Me: yes I am He looked directly in the eye and asked me the last question VO: what causes a tornado? Me: I gave him a short and accurate answer VO: is that what causes a Tornado Me: I said yes smiling VO: handed me the white paper and said pick up your visa in three working days Me: thank you Note: I am in my mid twenties , not married and travel history is Ghana, the only ties in my form is that am currently a masters student and my job and nothing else . He didn't ask for any document. V lymelyte: 5 Likes |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by Ralfoosha: 6:07am On Jan 09, 2017 |
malaoluolateju: Travelstart.com is Naira, their office is in Lagos, Opebi. Skyscanner.com will ref you to other sites which might be in a foreign currency; use a generous xrate to know how much you'll be spending. 1 Like |

dearstan: Not really. I would wager it even improves her chances. If she is called for an interview and asked why she did not use her visa, she can simply say she could not make it because she had other commitments that tied her back to her home country. |

Ralfoosha:12 hours isn't a long time. Go with a power bank, movie bank and a card that can pay for coffee and snacks. Explore the airport, look at travellers and make up stories about their life in your head. . Find a comfy spot. Sit. Lie down warreva rocks your boat. Use the free wifi for the airports that have... Alternatively. Colonize the corner of one area, preferably near where the sockets are. Make sure you carry adaptor, you will make many friends through this (your new friends, will come in handy, when nature calls and you need to leave your kingdom). Frown your face at anyone trying, to waylay your little kingdom. Keep your hand luggage as pillow or as leg rest. Invite a fellow Nigerian, to discuss things only a Nigerian will appreciate. OR Book first class or business class ticket and enjoy the lounge, we shall all reach there, amen. LadyGuinivere: 3 Likes |

seyewest: @seyewest, pardon my naivity, i'm a 1st time traveller. The only reason I am considering landing @nyc is the cost. I could save as much as 200k+ if I do so. I have read of some being turned back at the POE and don't want to experience such. Do u then feel my tellin them the decision to fly to NYC first was because of the cost is weighty enough for the strictest personnel to waive such. My final destination is about 3hrs from nyc. |
