Yes we chose Yoruba as most spoken.then others as reason for test.
Under specify we wrote,for job related reasons(promotion).

I don't think this is necessary. From my own experience, it seemed to have worked in my favour. I filled "Immigration" as my reason for writing the exam. My result was a miracle. I couldn't get myself to study well for the exam. My speaking test was awful in my opinion but for the discussion I had with the examiner prior to the start of the test. He must have graded that as well. Speaking=7.5.
Writing nko, I disobeyed/disregarded an important rule of completing 250 words for task 2 and also didn't meet up with the required word count for task 1. Word count for task 2 was just about 200 while task 1 was a little less than 150.
Writing=7
Reading=7.5
Listening =8.0
To me, it seemed I was aided in the speaking and writing aspects......like my performance was adjudged to be sufficient for Australian immigration purposes. So all nah speculation. No one knows for a fact and could actually be unnecessary misrepresenting the purpose of writing the test. I'm sure many have 'spanked' this test regardless.

Please those that have "spanked" PTE test in the past, your help is needed here. Did you have to choose another reason other than "immigration/PR" as the reason for writing the test before you got your high marks?.

Can you clarify the above statement please?

I chose Australia immigration as the reason for my IELTS.. I remember that one clearly... I simply don't remember what I chose for PTE.. I probably chose Immigration as well, cos they automatically sent my results to DIBP immediately after.... ...

Can you clarify the above statement please?

Immediately I entered the test room and greeted the examiner, he responded but kept fiddling with his recorder. He then started off a conversation about world economics, politics and the like. The fiddling didn't stop. At intervals, he would check the recorder. He assured me he would inform me when the test starts. The conversation went on for about 5mins. He touched the recorder and said he was about to start the test.
Unknown to him, he just pushed my panic button. Liver just failed me. I wasn't myself afterwards. Na then I know say English wicked. I was incoherent for most part of the test (imo). Repeated phrases and words unnecessarily contrary to tips I got while studying. The rest is history. I left the room feeling disappointed in my performance.

I see a conspiracy theory brewing on this "why" matter.

Lets focus more on working harder to hit our mark. "20 pointer"

Case closed.

Sure. Download the MSA booklet form Engineers Australia website to know the minimum requirement- amongst other info.

The occupation ceiling is almost full, with less than 200 slots left; if you can increase your overall points, do. Maybe rewrite english test and get 20 points (that's if you don't have that already), it will increase your chances of getting an invite on time. Mechanical engineers is now on pro-rata, so you need 70 points to get an invite.

@jukeblam...This is not encouraging at all for prospective applicant like me....since it is on Pro-rata ....does it mean one can't apply for 190 if one doesn't meet up with 70points or are States sponsoring 190 not considering mechanical engineers?

Don't get it twisted sir,
You can apply for 190 but you have checked the state requirements first to know their terms and conditions as each states's own differ

I chose immigration as my purpose for taking both my PTE and IELTS. What I feel especially for IELTS is that they are quick to give up to 7-7.5 in their subjective parts, but anything more, you must be exceptionally good.

Mamajaz,
Pls no vex ooo

AGE: 25
BSC: 15
ENGLISH : 10
W/EXP: DEBATEABLE... others pls shed more light.....
Can your partner Take an english test and get @ least 6 in all band, get assessed, less than 50 yrs....if yes to all.. then u can claim 5 points
As it stands, you mark is 55
you can boost your point by securing 20 points in english (IELTS OR PTE-A) but that will take you to 65.
Accounting is currently on the pro rata list, that means u need 70 points.
However if your partner is between 25 to 32 (30points) , u can make him/her the primary applicant and that will put at 70.

State nomination also gives u 5 point if u don't mind visa 190

to clarify further on your work experience, if it works out well, u can get 10 or 15 points.... comb CPA/CA/IPA websites for accurate info

Overall, you stand a good chance but u have to do the right permutation

Speak about yours that fetched you 10points without quoting me and saying what you feel is necessary or not.
Like Alphadoor adviced,people should study hard regardless of whatever reason they end up choosing as reason for the test.

A little sad today to have gotten this PTE-A score which I did yesterday, my first time though :
Listening - 63
Reading - 59
Speaking - 42
Writing - 70

What is the way forward? PTE is now expensive What options do I have left? I you to hear PTE is simpler, I would have written IELTS instead.....
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by 40manlappy: 7:49pm On Feb 05, 2017
@eboziem

Your essay no get part 2 cheesy

On a serious note, what is your current job function in the bank AND your job description?

2. Statutory declaration should be fine. Better if you can include the email addresses of former colleagues who are willing and able to respond if required. Are they still working with those organisations?

3 Statement of account plus pension statement looks good too. Read more about the requirements of your assessing body though.

Wow! I didn't have any gears on when I responded. No intention to tackle anyone.....didn't know it will be interpreted that way. Just wanted us to realise that placing emphasis on the reason for writing the exam was not necessary.
Reading and passing is the koko
