Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Jejelaye01: 5:08pm On Mar 07, 2017 |
BRANDYAK: I sincerely think 6 months in journalism is very short to correlate with any area or field of political science even if you have the best sop. My advice is that you apply for a course in political science and relate your 6 months experience in journalism as part of the courses you will be offering in the school's corriculum this should give u an edge as u aren't totally idle after graduation. 1 Like |

Hello gurus in the house, i am a self sponsored applicant do i need to include an affidavit of self sponsorship or a letter of self sponsorship as part of the documents to be submitted? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by penitential(m): 5:30pm On Mar 07, 2017 |
Oga, am beginning to get confuse. What is soft copy and what is hard copy? If you can get the soft copy, why not print it out to make it the hard copy; unless if there's something else meant by that Metropolitan: |

If you have all necessary documents to prove your source of income that is able to sponsor your education completely in Canada (without working), then you don't need any letter of sponsorship or any affidavit of sponsorship. Just explain it in your S.O.P(if you're providing one) or L.O.E. and analyse how you intend to sponsor yourself. Chikena! ozzy2: |

This as been an amazing post all through the years and I have been watching all along. This year I am planning to study Digital animation at the north Atlantic college at newfoundland. The tuition is 3300 CAD per semester and I have been working my butt off atleast to be able to pay for a year. I just signed up for TOEFL test (1st of april).. the school requires atleast 79. The class starts in September and I am hopeful I can be able to finish the registrations before then. Anyone that have useful information for me as I go through this process, I'd gladly acknowledge it. Cheers guys |

Metropolitan:Yes. Transcripts of post secondary education is a requirement of the visa office for nigerian applicants. @Penitential has given you the best advise. Print it and add it to your application. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by penitential(m): 6:33pm On Mar 07, 2017 |
Nolongthang:Before anybody can answer your question, you have to explicitly detail your profile first. Let's see what and what you've got, how many months/year will your program take? What was your UG course of study? How long have you been working as a graphic designer (I suppose that's what you are) and if not, what's your present occupation? If your UG course of study is different from what you're going to study (Digital animation), what motivate you to make a diversion to that? 1 Like |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4: 6:36pm On Mar 07, 2017 |
Metropolitan: 1.There is always a time duration for an individual application to be completed. You application will be considered complete when you send in all required documentation. If the schools says transcripts first, you should follow the instruction. Wait till it you fulfill that requirement. 2. You should further discuss with your school, they could still give you an unofficial copy. And yes, transcripts is a requirement for a study permit application as required by the visa office for nigerian applicants. 3.It shouldn't be late. However, CIC encourages applicants to send in their application early incase there are unforseen delays that may occur during the processing. 4.Your major challenge is to substantiate with evidence why you are going for your propose program. Be it little or no experience, What you have been doing in that field prior to your application will determine your chance. Also, If the time you finished your undergrad(in that field or related) till now isn't lengthy, You can as well, convience a VO that the program is right for you. Like it's often pointing out here, we MUST choose prospective programs that will further add to your current or most recent situation(work experience or study). Anything other than this will be questionable as a ploy to leave the country and will most definitely lead to a refusal on purpose of visit. Eg. You can't finish Geology in 2009/2010 and have been working in the bank from then till now and then decide to go for a PGD/PGC in geology or related field. No amount of spoken word, Vocabulary, Heavenly gifted writting skills or good command of the english language SOP will convience a VO that naija never tire you! The refusal reason will just face the visa officer in broad day light. We must always choose rightly! This is just a case senario and not particularly about your case. All the best to you. 1 Like |
