i just suffered the same predicament, its not only nigeria but here in Australia as well! On to PTE straight[/quote
In Australia too? What's happening with IELTS? Is there change in grading criteria that no one mentioned? Or how can one lose his ability to speak good English within 2 years when those 2 years were spent in a native English speaking country?

Result of IELTS of 4th March, 2017 have just been released. I had a near perfect score which recently expired. Surprisingly, my scores in this latest test is unbelievable, it is ridiculous. How can one go from LRWS 8/9/8/8.5 to 7/6.5/7/6.5 in just about 2 years? Please note that I lived in the UK for the better part of those 2 year period. "I'm not understanding".
Is someone there cooking up scores? If that is the case then IELTS in Nigeria is a scam.

Don't give up. Personally I have written IELTS 4 times btw 2013 and now. While my reading and listening scores were consistent, my speaking and writing were not. You can either apply for a review of your results or you could look at PTE since it's not partially subjective like IELTS

Believe me, its possible. People dey come uk only for dem English to crash.. Take me for example, while I haven't noticed any real difference in my English level, I do know I came to UK with a Yoruba accent, and I now have people telling me that I speak English with an hausa accent.... grin grin

Thanks bro. PTE-A it is. I'll request for a re-mark though. I believe my scores for all components were adjusted around the speaking score which I knew would be low but not this low. The Black guy who interviewed me is probably South African or Kenyan (he's got this funny accent). I don't think non-native speakers should be recruited as examiners. Other than is accented English, his demeanour exhibits crass arrogance. He interrupts when you're well within allotted time to respond.
While I seek a re-mark, I do not advise anyone to take that scam IELTS. But if you do and the Black guy is your examiner, forget your 68k.

Although it wasn't me you quoted but I might be able to give some answers.

The outcome of result varies from assessing body to assessing body. You need to scan through the website of the one that concerns your intended occupation in order to ascertain this.

As for whether they call to verify, I'm not sure but DIBP does. Either a call or e-mail

.
please I want some clarification..

my agent told me that Australia no more accept work visas from Nigeria..

I'm not bro... Igbo boys dey learn yoruba for uk... Oyinbos dey learn pidgin,I was surrounded by hausas, their accent got under my tongue..

And even if you no dey where naija people dey,, coming down to the level of those Romanians, Polish and Bulgarians so that they can understand you alone can ruin your English...

I just think you did the test on a bad day though... Nobody drops language skills by two bands in two years.... Not even if you don't speak a word of the language in those two years....

Now I understand. But non of those apply to me. Where I lived in England in not one of those Polish/Romania infested areas. I also have two degrees from UK. And worked in a predominantly native English speaking environment after my second degree. Its a shocker. Challenging the score ASAP.

You may have a point. The last IELTS I sat for, a woman was my interviewer. One of the questions I was asked was if men make better leaders than women. In a bid to align with the bro code wink, I answered "yes of course" and proceeded to explain why. She immediately started shaking her head in disapproval which temporarily took me off balance and I started stammering. Don't know if that affected my score but I got 7 instead of my targeted 8 in Speaking.
So IELTS can be subjective. I have done PTE and can recommend it to anyone

As I said bro, you did the test on a bad day... You can't challenge listening and reading... They have specific answers.. They are not subjective... ... You're better off taking another test.... Less time.... Just saying

Lmao! what bro code are you aligning with biko? Even though say you don get your grant, I would have said in such situations, argue for both sides and ultimately say that one's gender does not make him/her a better leader. I'm sure the woman go don x you, how do you give such an answer to woman wey dey interview you. grin grin grin
