a selfless and skillful player of such age are hard to find..
please that guy is good....his touches are superB still remember his play against Egypt in Kaduna... just that I see him as one that can't really play from the flanks in Africa football...
he should be deployed to middle.. then I believe we get more frm him
i think he plays better 4 us from d left wing

Bro, i may have been too factual, middle or no middle & sentiment apart, is like you have not been reading comments here with people saying he's been struggling against african oppositions, but not just that, but in most games of late. Though he scored against zambia aside that, he contributed little. Have you not seen his Arsenal performances of late? Bar the entire team, he has dipped in quality. Though still young with room for lot of improvements all round. And i am but patiently waiting. If i could watched JJ Okocha from a showman in Mauritius in '93 to a far better team leader in the EPL, why not him.

the entire arsenal team have been struggling lately even their coach...
well I get you....let's hope he improves and build on his form...to be true...I am not an arsenal fan but his touches are so wonderful... we all know arsenal as a team with one of the best passing accuracy in England... iwobi have been excellent in his passes...that I love him for.
don't think Wenger would've entrust him wit such playtime if he wasn't good enough...

We keep fumbling when it comes to selecting the kind of goalkeepers we can really bank on for the national team. That's how Keshi continued to use that short keeper, Agbim even when we had the best hands in Nigeria.
Now we have a good keeper which everyone had seen his performance at the olympics, Emmanuel Daniel, yet we are still forcing ourselves on a shaky and jittery Akpeyi. This is the same guy, Daniel completely benched at the olympics.
What is a short Ezenwa doing at the super eagles team when we have a tall, confident and agile Emmanuel Daniel? At the olympics, I saw Emmanuel in the moulds of Patrick okala and Peter Rufai. Most countries like to use taller keepers because most players talk about how they dread them. Someone may say Enyeama is not tall and intimidating but Enyeama is quite exceptional with his skill and that's what Ezenwa lacks. I'm happy Emmanuel Daniel has now moved to a foreign club, it's now time to really look his way. The 3 keepers i will recommend for super eagles are
1. Carl Ikeme
2. Emmanuel Daniel
3. Daniel Akpeyi.

it makes u wonder how a keeper like agbim made d team.. An area where nigeria has a pool of talent.

I think we should be Objective in this matter. So should Collin Udoh. Rohr is not into the Nigerian syndrome of Monkey working and Baboon eating. It is as simple as that. Rohr has done his assessment and he does not see Musa a key member of the team. He wants his captain on the field. Not on the bench. Musa will not play regularly for his team and so Rohr will not leave him with the captain band.

I wonder what is wrong in that.

Old tradition. The coaches, refs, players and die hard home supporters expect their team to win at all cost. An away team will easily move on from being cheated in a match compared to when they lose at home.

The home team do not travel while the away teams most times travel long distance by road. Mostly a case of fatigue.

I was checking league results just now and everyone won at home. Getting a draw away is a great deal.

I was talking in respect of the expected Burkina Faso or if we play anyone. If Mikel is in camp and I am drawing a list, I will certainly include him and drop Ogu. Then if Aluko is in camp, I will drop Iwobi for Aluko.

This is a comment I posted weeks ago in which I considered there individual attributes. Aluko has played in the hard physicality of both the EPL and the championship and excelled even with carpenters all around him.

Consider both players, from an individual perspective not just team set up.

How well will Iwobi perform in a kick and rush team with less emphasis on connective passing is open to debate. In this regard Aluko has done it seen it and passed the exam.

What I am saying it's easy to look skillful and knit and thread your passes in an Arsenal team. So judge the individual not just the settings in which he strives to perform.

I should have been more indepth in my meaning as opposed to being suggestive. The question should have been how would Iwobi perform in a blood and guts, brute strength football brawl That question has been largely answered from the comments made about him in the Senegal game. He simply went missing and couldn't cope with the physicality. A warning about what we can expect from Cameroon but only a lot more as there is so much more at stake.

In this regard considering who we have in the team Success and Ogu could prove essential as our options are limited.

Rohr Calls Up Chelsea's Aina, Sunderland's
Maja To Super Eagles

Chelsea FC and England U-20 defender Ola
Aina has joined up with the Super Eagles
squad for a training match with an unnamed
side on Monday,
Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
Aina, 20, was handed a late invitation by
coach Gernot Rohr for the training match
billed for the Hive stadium on Monday. He
was joined by Sunderland's 18-year-old
forward Joshua Maja and Queens Park
Rangers' Scottish born forward Eberechi
Eze.
Aina has made six appearances for Chelsea
this term in all competitions.
Josh has made five appearances for the
Black cats with four of the coming in the
Football League Trophy tournament (U23s)
and one in the English Football league
game against QPR where he came on in the
68th minute for Lynden Gooch.
Eze's only appearance for QPR this season
was in the English FA Cup. He featured for
18 minutes in QPR's 2-1 loss to Blackburn on
the 7th of January, 2017.
The trio will be assessed by the Super
Eagles technical crew it was gathered from
a media release made available to
Completesportsnigeria.com.

If this is true they are not the best options amongst Nigerian origin players that we have.

At least 15 Nigerian origin players ahead of the duo of Maja and Eze.

Aina true class.

Our football administrators should try set their priority right. They should stop this unnecessary call ups. How many times have they given our local talented players special offer to train with the super eagles. As regard players of Naija root in England, my choice will surely be Odubajo & Abraham as long as they are willing & ready. These two are the only quality that can add bite to the team for now.

what does one have to show as an achievement after his retirement from the round leather game? if not medals won..
I have never doubted kelechi's potential the young man is where he is today as a result of hardwork..he has made a mark in EPL(striker with the highest number of goals per minute ratio) despite the limited time and opportunities he gets
I know deeply what's hindering us from seeing more of his potentials is lack of play time...
i still remember the Israeli scout that rubbish the media claiming that in the streets of kano, Lagos there lies lot of youngsters who could kick the ball better than Dembele...
I doubt dele would have made it so easy if he had grown in the streets of Nigeria

There is difference between a talent and a champion.

Dele Alli plays like a champion.

Rohr goofed with unnecessary Musa humiliation
SHARE

By Colin Udoh
West African Editor | @ColinUdoh
Gernot Rohr’s decision to not name Ahmed Musa as captain for Nigeria’s game against Senegal was as farcical as it was unnecessary.
There. That needed to be said.

While it is a coach’s prerogative to name who captains his team, it is also worth taking into consideration the circumstances and possible consequences.

Musa is, or was, assistant captain to John Obi Mikel and rightfully should have been named match-day captain in the absence of the former Chelsea man.

ALSO READ: Iheanacho rescues point against Senegal
The reason is that not doing so raises more issues than it solves. To start with, when Vincent Enyeama retired prematurely from the national team in the wake of his highly-publicised spat with Sunday Oliseh, most of the senior players declined the opportunity to step into the breach. Musa was the only one who agreed to do so.

But within one match of Samson Siasia taking over as Super Eagles coach, and with the dust sufficiently cleared, Musa was deposed.

As a committed, non-confrontational person, Musa accepted the decision in the interest of team unity, and agreed to serve as vice-captain, along with Ogenyi Onazi.

With Mikel excused, Musa acted out the role of captain when the team reported for camp, until Rohr informed him that Onazi would lead the team out for the first game, and Elderson Echiejile would do the honors in the second game [which has since been called off].

Rohr’s explanation, according to a very credible team official, was that he wanted to team to be led out by a player who plays regularly.

Bollocks! Absolute bollocks!

First, if that was his sole reason, why chose to do it on a day in which he started the Leicester forward when he didn’t have to? There were alternatives. Oghenekaro Etebo could have played in midfield with Alex Iwobi starting in his usual wide left position and Moses Simon wide right.

Second, Nigeria have a long history of non-playing captains, going back to Christian Chukwu, Stephen Keshi and, more recently, Nwankwo Kanu and Joseph Yobo.

Keshi, in particular, was a non-playing captain for most of the 1994 Nations Cup and still lifted the trophy, and certainly nobody expected him to play any part of significance at the World Cup months later.

In any case, Must is not the substitute captain, so he could have led the team out, especially sine Rohr chose to start him. This was humiliation for Musa and it need not have happened. Period.

ALSO READ: Rohr praise for brave young Eagles

Sources close to Musa said he considered retiring from the national team after the armband was handed over to Mikel, but was talked out of it.

With this latest humiliation, he has decided to save himself from further embarrassment by giving up the entire thing.

It is the wrongest possible way to treat a player who has always put the team first. And, for once, I am not with Rohr. Musa should have been treated better. He has earned the right to be treated better

Rohr didn't handle this thing well. This move will bring bad blood among the players and fans.

Rohr should give it to Ahmed Musa whenever invited.

Ebuehi senior ‘proud’ son has committed to Nigeria

Marvin Ebuehi has spoken to thenff.com of his joy that
first son Tyronne Ebuehi has finally committed to
Nigeria after the misunderstanding that trailed his first
call-up by fatherland.
“I must confess to you that I am glad that he has
finally committed to Nigeria. I am very proud as a
father. The first call –up, there was a misunderstanding
and things went the way they did, unfortunately.
“I apologize for that misunderstanding. I have always
said that he would have to play for Nigeria at senior
level, because I am proud of my country,” said the Edo
State –born father of three.
Ebuehi, an Amsterdam –based businessman was at
the Super Eagles’ Crowne Plaza London Ealing hotel on
Saturday with Dutch wife, Toos and a couple of in-laws.
“Tyronne has always been crazy about football from an
early age. I put him in an academy at the age of six
and I’m not surprised that he’s on the way to living his
dream.”
Tyronne’s sister Tyvanne is a UK –based model and
brother Trevin is a student in Holland.
“I am praying that Tyronne fulfills his ambition of
playing for a big club in Europe, and also become an
important player for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.”
