People calling for Odey are jst doing so on the sentiments that "we must have local players in the Super Eagles".

In fact Salisu in particular has really earned my respect. Even though he has been in the local scene for long he does not carry the same sentiments all those other local coaches carry else Him for don flood the Super Eagles with 'HIS KANO PILLARS BOYS'.

if the NFF choses for whatsoever reason not to renew Rohr's contract. I would personally recommend Salisu.

Really, I don't know what to say about Odey because there seems to be too many good players springing up left, right and center in Europe.

The boy is just unlucky. grin

You are forgetting that it took Manchester City the last game of last season to qualify for the Champions League Group playoffs. You also did not remember that we played the Champions League playoff games to qualify for the Champions League. We were already a team in decline and Guardiola so far has performed well.

Anyone who does not watch City closely can come up with what your writing there. But an insightful person who is following the team closely will see immense development.

Football is not linear. It is dynamic. The fruits of Guardiola’s work will show in the coming years. His transformation of Sterling and Stones is enough to tell the impact of Guardiola. Aguero showing tremendous improvement in his work rate and defending is another.

The team holds the ball with brilliant abilities. Considering that most of the players are new to the art of the game is brilliant. How many teams in the EPL can create as much chances as City did against Chelsea in the last game?
spare me that please.. Pep is performing below average considering the fact how much he was giving for transfer markets..he has gotten all he asked for financially.. Tell me one reason he should go trophy less considering the amount of resources at his disposal..not only is he going trophy less, he is also on the verge of loosing out on the champions league spot..
And you call that development.. undecided
And what will you call jurgen klopps handwork on Liverpool? Or leicesters resurgence?
With low budget, they still get their team up front..that's what I call development..

The thing is GUARDIOLA is still driven by the euphoria he is still in the laliga or bundesliga where he has little or no competition.. The sooner he learns he is in EPL where no one cares whose ox is gored..the better for him cool

See, Rohr does nt have to visit every match venue or watch all MFM and Ikorodu United games.

He has assistant coaches who can do so.

Secondly kickoff time for NPFL games is usually 4pm and that is when a whole lot of league games in Europe would in be on course. That is where almost the entirety of the Super Eagles play and u want him to spend that prime time watching one Ikorodu united vs Wikki Tourist? Haba!

In that case, he should come out and say he's not interested in the local league. What's the need for the pretence?

CHELSEA MANAGED TO COPE WITHOUT MOSES THIS TIME - CONTE

Chelsea's Victor Moses (L) in action against Tottenham Hotspur's Mousa Dembele (R)
by Graeme Jackson

Nigeria’s Victor Moses was once again absent due to injury, but this time Chelsea managed to cope without their regular right wingback.

Unlike on Saturday when the Blues suffered a defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace, they were able to pick up a crucial 2-1 victory over Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Against Palace, Conte deployed Pedro as a wingback to cover for Moses’ absence. This time around he played Kurt Zouma in defence and shifted Cesar Azpilicueta out to the Nigerian’s regular position.

It proved to bring about a better balance for the Chelsea team, though Conte admitted that some players weren’t entirely comfortable.

“I think I decided for this starting XI because there is still a miss of Moses and we finished the game with some problems for some players, ” stated Conte after the match.

The Italian will hope the Super Eagles man return to availability for Chelsea’s mach away to Bournemouth on Saturday evening.

Eagles Coach – Home Based Players Not Good Enough For Super Eagles Action

As the debate continue over the none inclusion of home based players in the senior national team of Nigeria under new manager Gernot Rohr, a new dimension has been brought into the drag.

There has been calls for the likes of MFM Stephen Odey who has taken the league in Nigeria by storm with 13 goals this season to be called up to the team.

Salisu Yusuf who acts as one of the assistants of the Franco-German Technical Adviser of the team has revealed that the players presently don’t have the capacity to dislodge the foreign base players ahead of them.

“No player in the NPFL is good enough for the Super Eagles at the moment”, Yusuf said, after he was asked why there were no [outfield] locally based player in the latest [current] national team selection”, he told Lagos Talks 91.3Fm.

Speaking on the Anglo Nigerians who trained with the team in London, the former Kano Pillars boss said they were called up to help the team have two teams for a test game among themselves following the cancellation of the Burkina Faso friendly

“Those players we invited, we invited them because Burkina Faso couldn’t come for the game. We wanted to have a friendly game between us but we didn’t have enough player.”

“So we invited the players closeby with Nigerian citizenship to join us. We didn’t invite them to the National team.”

I personally have dropped Ideye and Ighalo from my own mind list. Now between Iheanacho, Success and Kayode who do we drop so we can at least try Onyekuru for a start? For the Nig vs SA match.

Good progress. Forward ever backward never.

Never again shall we have a coach that will be overlooking our best players and be fielding greenhorns all in a bid to look for replacements or backups for the best players.

At bolded.... It is very easy for me.... grin

I know Oga Forgiveness will bury me for this but if I am given those three options to drop one and bring in Onyekuru, then I will drop Kayode despite his fine debut for the team. I feel Nacho and Success brings far more to the table than Kayode.

But again, Kayode is a no.9 not a wing forward. So he may get an invite even if Onyekuru is to be considered. I think the person under the threat of being dropped is Ahmed Musa.

Now I don't know if Rohr has the guts to take this decision to exclude Musa just as he has done with Ighalo and Ideye. Time will tell..... wink

Best news of the day for me...... Rohr means One hell of a business mehn!!!!!..... coz I was kinda worried about how we are gonna keep shape and carry on in the momentum we have built overtime.... ahead of the next competitive games coming up in June and in August/September. And it seems he has eyes to invite some fresh talents for close-up view also..... maybe this is Onyekuru's chance alongside the other greenhorns to make an impression for the future?

Rohr Rules Out Summer Holidays For Iheanacho, Iwobi, Ndidi Until After South Africa Game

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has revealed that he plans to invite fresh young players to a training camp in France, ahead of the national team’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in June.

The training camp will start next month, meaning the Super Eagles stars will not be allowed to proceed on holidays at the end of season in most European countries.

“We have a programme to work together as a team. We have arranged for camping in France and we have been invited for some friendly games, although it is not FIFA window.

“We have some young players who we need to look at and also some of them that have finished their season in Europe,” Rohr told New Telegraph.

The Super Eagles, after winning the 2013 AFCON, failed to qualify for the 2015 and 2017 editions but Rohr is optimistic of his wards will make the cut in 2019.

“They need to work hard, we have two and half weeks to prepare for South Africa after which we will play another friendly game to accommodate some other players that will be ending their season in June, especially the players playing in China.”

Rohr is back in Nigeria and was at the Agege Township Stadium on Wednesday to watch a league game between AS Racine and Warri Wolves.

The beauty of modern football is the versatility of both the coach and players. The ability of a player to play more than one role gives him an edge.

Apart from CF which other roles can Odey play?

What if i tell you that what Rohr fielded in the later part of that Senegal game was a 4-3-3.That is how i read it. The 3 forwards being Success-iheanacho-Kayode. I see Success as a very useful player in that attack as he is a wing forward and also a striker. He may not be a CF. Kayode jst like Success can also be played as a wings forward. Same goes for Onyekuru (ie WF and CF). Iheanacho, Success, Kayode and Onyekuru have more to offer than Odey. I cannot drop any of these four for Odey.

So no Algeria in Africa's top 10.... wow shocked shocked Their Afcon performance and poor WCQ showing so far must have contributed to their fall out of the top 10.

A student in Finland developed a formula to beat this FIFA monthly rankings. Wales and Romania used this system to their advantage and broke into the FIFA top 10 world rankings, earning for themselves top seeds in their world cup qualifiers group.
The Nff can adopt their method if they are interested in soaring up the rankings.

Who is willing to bet against this guy? grin He strongly believes Ndidi won't turn down Man Utd if they come for him in the summer.... could he be right?

Sir BascoVanVeli, Sir Icon4s, Sir Goldfish80, Sir TheGoodJoe (yeah even though you are on the other side of Manchester), and Sir Komekn.... Oya... what is your take? You think this agent is right?

Note: This is coming after I dropped a news earlier today from a foreign site on Ndidi's agent ruling out a summer move for Ndidi.

Agent – Ndidi Won’t Turn Down Manchester United, Anyone Willing To Bet?

Leicester City rave of the moment Wilfred Ndidi won’t turn down a move to Manchester United if a bid is lodged for him in the summer by the Red Devils.

Ndidi is reportedly on the wishlist of the Premier League giants following a whirlwind start to his career in England, following his transfer from Genk in January.

According to Nigerian intermediary Hakeem Bello who is close to the bonafide intermediary of the former Genk man, Ndidi will jump at the chance to join Manchester United.

” Ndidi won’t say no to Manchester United, I can proudly tell you that if a bid is launched for him, he will most likely ask Leicester City for a transfer”, Hakeem told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” We talking Manchester United you know, the biggest and most successful in England. That’s a no brainer. Ndidi won’t turn down Man United, anyone willing to bet?”.

Same question I have been pondering on Sir Goldfish.... who called in the police?

And why? because reports also said he was arrested after he sent her a birthday message on social media.... I don't get the whole thing really.... sad

goldfish80:

Who invited the police in the first place? The police don't barge into people's homes on the suspicion of domestic violence.

Something happened. It was just not bad enough to press charges.
