I think it's time we stop repeating this Mourinho investment talk. Dude spent 89 million pounds on one player. That is were he got it wrong. Because of the seemingly huge sum we spent on 3 players this season, we think we have invested so much.

Abeg let's be real. Mourinho wasn't expected to spring a miracle in his first season. At best we hoped for a top four finish. That was our hope at the beginning of the season and that is what we still hope for and it's not an unrealistic achievement with 8 matches left and 4 points from top 4. Conte inherited a set of demoralized players who finished in 10th position (courtesy the failings of yours sincerly) , boosted their confidence, imposed his tactics and transformed them to runaway league champions within the space of about 4-6months....

Players like De - Gea, Smalling, Carrick, Rooney, Pogba, Ibrahimovic, Mata, Mikitaryan, Martial etc are Good and /or experienced enough to mount and sustain a credible league title Challenge. You don't need 25 world class players to win a league title afterall the likes of Victor Moses, Cahill, Chelsea's LB etc etc aren't better than a good number of some of players (even on our bench)...yet the aforementioned players have played significant roles in chelsea's improved fortunes.

Like I said earlier, The 4th place target (minimum) Woodward seems to be giving any new manager that comes aboard... to a reasonable extent is the cause of our woes ever since Sir Alex left.

Let's just hope we win the Europa league - sitting out next season's CL would be unbearable!
