Just when you think the Cavs have hit playoff mode, they do another 'stupid' one, lol lol . East playoff go sweet die. Like play like play, Celtics would drop to 3rd. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Decale: 1:26pm On Apr 08, 2017 |
sapiosexual1: Lol Hawks needed the win more. Hence, their zeal. Anybody facing Bucks, Bulls, Heat, Hawks and Pacers right now is more likely to lose cos of the different goals. If you still think the playoffs will be a little bit difficult for Cavs after their statement win over Celtics, then I'm sorry for you. Side note: Westbrook did it 1 Like |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 2:43pm On Apr 08, 2017 |
Decale:The Heat lost anyway. And yes, I think the Cavs have issues of their own and wouldn't be at the level they were last season. No way they would come close to their 12-2 run of last season. Yes oooo, Westbrook did it. I actually want him to break the record and get 43. What's the point of equalling a fifty something year record if you can't break it ? He needs to wake up against Denver, those guys score for fun. I'm pretty sure they would blow out OkC, but Westbrook should just make his plays right. |

SmooshCHN: kinda like the lakers when kobe, shaq, *what is the name of that short man devil of a PG*...Fisher... etc used to have some lousy games - playoffs was what really mattered. Regular season is boring, and Cavs cant wait until playoffs. Cavs also have enough talent to pull through regular season and act like they are playing hard. But like the Lakers, this could come back and bite them come playoffs. Some days, that on/off switch just doesnt work. Coming out of the east is not a given..Lebron is nowhere near as physically dominant as he used to be....I hope Kyrie is working on those fadeaway Js |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 12:55am On Apr 09, 2017 |
Wack as the Nets are, The Bulls can't even motivate themselves to save their lives. For a team whose playoff entry isn't secured, you'd expect an emphatic victory. No wonder Cavs dey always bully these EC teams in playoffs. Hian! |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 12:56am On Apr 09, 2017 |
What's wrong with the Celtics? Which kain Q4 collapse be this one? Modified : Isaiah Thomas is the story. |

KD is BACKK!!! Booyaka for the bad people them. As my nigga General S.E.A would say on Snapchat |
Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 5:35am On Apr 09, 2017 |
sapiosexual1:I'm just here thinking the Nets are petty as hell They have no hope and yet won't allow someone else go.. We had high hopes for the Bulls, Hornets and Knicks.. And they look proved how overrated they were. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 6:55am On Apr 09, 2017 |
SmooshCHN:Na Bulls just dey vex me pass, I don't see hunger from the young ones. Wade has 3 rings and is a playoff vet, he knows they wouldn't get past the first round. It's the young ones who should play more aggressive. Well, I hope Heat comes up strong and the Cavs respect themselves in the next game. Heat deserves that playoff more than any of Pacers, Bulls, Hornets, and Knicks. |
Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 7:30am On Apr 09, 2017 |
sapiosexual1:Miami Heats really punched hard this season.. Bruh I can't wait for the playoffs. The drama and the grit |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 8:02am On Apr 09, 2017 |
SmooshCHN:Yes ooo, for once I saw someone who effectively guarded Wall. Mehn, playoffs go sweet die. Just hope Raptors pull themselves together, every one would answer his fadas name |
Re: The NBA Begins by SIRcumalot: 9:44am On Apr 09, 2017 |
I saw a stat On twitter that says,WB is the best player in the clutch, that with the noise around is TDs and the sympathy vote from KD's betrayal almost guarantee him the MVP. if WB wins, that means harden has been on both side of the two narratives that drives the MVP debate and still no win. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Eruditor: 11:38am On Apr 09, 2017 |
So who is having a better year? 55-25 (2nd in the NBA) 29pts 8Rpg 11Apg Player A 47-34 (5th in the NBA) 32pts 9.9Rpg 9.9Apg Player B CAVEAT: These are not real figures |

Re: The NBA Begins by Eruditor: 3:04pm On Apr 09, 2017 |
That is the point I was trying to make. Just reduce Russell's APG and RPG to just under 10 and all of a sudden Harden would have been the clear MVP. This shows that TDs are a tad overrated. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Decale: 7:09pm On Apr 09, 2017 |
It seems it's only Warriors fans that put Westbrook on their head. Lol Westbrook is making history and he should be applauded for that. He leads in uncontested rebounds and people are okay with that. Personally, I am of the opinion that Centers/PFs should leave those types of rebounds for the playmakers, move up the court and continue with the game. Don't forget Westbrook is still the only PG that averages >1 ORB/game. That's noteworthy Speaking of Harden, his team also should be countable for their standings and not just him: - Rockets have the 2nd best bench among playoff contenders, in fact that bench have best points per minute stat - Rockets bench are 43-0 when they outscore their opponents. Their 26 losses are when their bench don't perform enough, not Harden - Rockets are the 2nd best offensive team in NBA. They still shot lights out when Harden was ill. - Rockets are the best shooting team in the NBA - Even when Harden is on the bench, Rockets' offensive rating don't drop as much as other teams' OR when their best players are off court It should be noted that James Harden historic record this season was about Triple Doubles, the overrated stat like people loud it. When it comes to individual plays, you can't say much about Harden being better than Westbrook this season except for team standings. - Westbrook averages that playing <35 mins. 35 MINUTES!!!! - Westbrook PER is better though that could be due to his usage rate - Westbrook has had a triple double against all teams except the Bulls. Doesn't look overrated when you constantly play to your best - Westbrook is the clutchest player in the league for the season I no dey consider WB as MVP largely from his team standings. Kawhi and Harden should pip it above any other. But using the word MVP literally, Westbrook is it. The undermining and talk of overrated stats must stop. Both Harden and Westbrook are having amazing seasons but Westbrook stands taller. Westbrook floored Harden this season. 4 Likes |

crazy game. caught the ot. blowing a 26 pt lead though? Lebron how many minutes? 46? abi na 50? That's a lot, i hope he isn't tired come playoffs time. I want to see everyone at their best abeg |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 11:41pm On Apr 09, 2017 |
Donlittle:As in ehn the East is wide open once again. I thought Cavs didn't so much fancy playing for homecourt, but with James' minutes, mehn I sense apprehension. East go sweet die, though it's still the weaker of the two. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 11:43pm On Apr 09, 2017 |
Eruditor:Interesting how you discarded Big O's "one man's point of view" but hold onto Nash's. It's what it is, "one man's point of view". Decision is still split on the MVP, though more pundits are leaning towards Westbrook |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 11:48pm On Apr 09, 2017 |
We all saw it coming, didn't we? The Nuggets no get joy at all. Free scoring AF. This is a blowout already and still in Q3. See as blood just full court Modified : How the Thunder rallied back to win this game in clutch time is beyond me. And the record TD to go with. Mehn, respect to Westbrook 1 Like |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 12:00am On Apr 10, 2017 |
The Hawks were 26pts down going into the 4th. No lead is ever safe. I had a whole new level of understanding and appreciation for that saying today. First of all if u didn't see that game you wouldn't really understand how badly the Hawks played. And the funniest part is that the Hawks had at least 3 shots to end that game in regular time. Coming from seeing the Thunder and the Warriors blowing 3-1 leads to Barca vs PSG to Patriots vs Falcons this was the worst I have to keep asking the Warriors how they fuqin lost to these guys. @lolawilliams Please come and explain this L babydoll 1 Like |

Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 12:34am On Apr 10, 2017 |
aliondo:Westbrook did very well. Very very well. Scored the last 8pts of the game in clutch time. Russel Westbrook, King of the Clutch Time He gets the scoring crown and hopefully the MVP. But how's the First round match up with the Rockets looking up for you guys? You fancy ur chances? Yes? |

If we did not sweep OKC this season, it would have been that we hated him. If we did not beat OKC last season, it would have been that we are still reeling from the loss of last year. If I had not made my arguments before he said "who is he?" It would have been because he disparaged Curry. If Curry did not outplay him on so many occasions again, it would have been about Curry. It is not about Curry. Can Westbrook play? Very well yes. I would even say he is better than Kyrie (not just because of this season). Is Westbrook having an incredible season? Yes he is. One of the best individual performances ever. Would OKC tank without him? Without a doubt. He is easily their best player. Are the TDs overrated? Emphatically yes in the context of an MVP conversation. I asked a question but almost every post liker turned Stevie Wonder. If he had 32PPG 9.99APG 9.99RPG and kept the same winning record, would have been in this MVP talk? Yes, but way down the pecking order or atleast with some daylight between him and Harden. 9.99APG & RPG is not that significantly discriminate from 10.4 and 10.7 except in the mouths of hype-men. Personal opinions are great when it comes to a forum but the ball travels faster than any playmaker and we can accept that as a fact. So a pacy playmaker could instead run out on a fastbreak and receive the pass from his C or PF for an easy lay-up. Except ofcourse he wants to rack up rebounding numbers Speaking of Harden and WB; Before the season began in earnest, experts came up with their list. Most bloggers and pundits expected OKC to sit higher than Rockets. I would even go as far as saying 5 out of 6 pundits did so. And the one that placed Houston higher only had them as 5th and OKC as 6th. All of a sudden, they are 3rd and it becomes because Harden's teammates are better - fact people did not consider when the season began. So convenient. Houston's bench this, Rocket's bench that, fine. Put WB in Houston and they will lose more games. He had Durant and Ibaka and OKC were not winning 60+ games. He will reduce everyone's shooting number, score a billion more points and lose a couple close games. The news media will say his players are letting him down and that if he played with X and Y he would have done this and that. On the flipside, Harden may garner the same Ws or better than WB achieved in OKC but he will do it with Kanter, Adams and Oladipo having better PPGs and playing better. Making your team and teammates better is another definition of being an MVP. Doubt me? Find out where ESPN/NBA ranked Oladipo and Adams when the season began then find out where Gordon and co where ranked. I swear, no Rockets player bar Harden was top 80 but 2 OKC players made top 50. Harden made his teammates better. Since you have mentioned some numbers maybe I should throw some out there as well. Russell's true shooting percentage is garbage. He is at 55% compared to other elite players like KD 65% Curry 62% Bron 61.9% and Harden 61.3%. Garbage because the league average is at 54% and Russell's % puts him with scrubs. I think he is tied at 161 in the league. 79% of the time WB gets a TD his team wins. No kidding? GSW are like 19-2 when Curry scores 40 points. The point is, it means nothing to say that a team wins significantly more when the best player plays well - It is a given. I checked Harden's TDs all 20 or so of them. The record is 15-5. So yea, his team wins 75% of the games he gets TDs in. We can toggle with WBs stats a bit. Take away his 10+ rebounding games and his team is 37-12 when he has a double double (Points & assists). That's 76% win ratio only 3% shy of the TD win percentage which shows TDs are OVERRATED. BTW, Harden has 63 double doubles this season. There are so many myths to dispel but this post will be too darn long: - Houston best shooting team? Myth. They have the most 3s but OKCs 3pt% is slightly higher than Houston's (34.7% to 34.3%). -Rockets shot lights out when Harden was hurt? Myth. They had 47% FG to Phoenix' 42%. 3 ball? 36.8% on 14-38 to Phoenix' 8-34. Houston won by 7 (123-116). Not lights out if you would agree. - WB is the clutchest player? Maybe it is because he has been in that situation more often than not so it follows that he would have racked up stats then. His True shooting % in the clutch is like 0.003% better than Harden's (0.564 to 0.561). The king of Akron has better true shooting % than both of them. Is he also the clutchest player in the league? I can inundate this place with other stats that work against WB but it will be unnecessary as he has been incredible this season but his TDs are a tad overrated. Simple. |
