My husband is going thru the same path, he has gotten a positive assessment from vetassess which is the assessing body and he wasn't contacted by anybody. I think it's just the companies they contact and if you give enough supporting documents they won't contact them either.
Wish you success

Hello everyone! Please I need you guys help. Been following the thread for a while now.
I am applying as a civil engineering draftsperson. I'm about to lodge my application but my cousin in Australia told me that they may have a phone interview with me. I'm really scared as I don't know what kind of questions I might be asked.
Has anyone gone through this path before? And please share with me the likely questions that I may asked . Any advice would highly appreciated.
Please all the experienced persons in house, Bellong and the rest help me.
TIA.

Yes sir you need to.Depending on each country's law, applicants may be required to submit police certificates of countries which they have stayed beyond periods as specified by law.

Australia: For citizenship applications, countries where applicants have resided for 3 months or more if the applicants have been outside Australia for more than 12 months since acquiring permanent residency; for visa applications, countries where applicants have resided for 12 months or more.

Have you taken time to read the thread? If you did, you wouldn't panic at the wrong info your cousin fed you with.

Meanwhile, why should you panic at the sound of an interview? You should be proficient enough in the occupation you claim to answer questions.

Well, they usually don't contact applicants for phone interview.

@Seaje,

EA is about the only assessing authority that gives positive assessment without work experience. You need work experience.

ANMAC is another if you study nursing onshore.

I am sorry, I can't offer any useful information at this stage without any work experience.

@akereconfi,

I am not sure if affidavit will suffice for payslip and bank statement. Haha, your company should be able to design a payslip for you.

Hi Mijac, Bellong and others that have passed this path. I'm trying to get a sample CDR for my hubby. For months now we have been stuck on this CDR thing for civil engineering, futo minna. Please help!

We need a guide more like a template to compare our writeup and make any corrections.

Please anyone else with any help or advice is also welcome. Thank you.

@occie3,

Why not ask for the CDR you have written to be proofread than asking for a template?

I believe CDR template has been flying around on the thread for the past few weeks.

Unizik for accountant is 10point which is Associate degree. I think is only engineering that can qualify you to 15 point . Well chidike can clarify that.

Hurray!! we are One.

Happy Birthday to this Thread.

A big thanks to Oga Bellong for this initiative.

In one year so much Grants has been issued.
I think a statistics of the total number of Visas issued in the past year won't be a bad idea.

May this New Year bring our Grants to us In Jesus name Amen

@ Bellong. I will do that soon. It's better to be corrected here than waste money.

Thanks

Thanks tosin.

@oknee:the car was advertised at 3400(negotiable) on gumtree(a toyota sportivo the one we call toyota big for nothing).We negotiated and got it at 2600 thinking we don jam deal we no say na we arab don jam.
So far we have spent over 2500 fixing the so called minor issues,airconditioning and getting a road worthiness certificate.mean while a friend i had here got the toyota pencil light at 1600 and it had road worthiness,airconditioning and was registered.So always look carefully and if possible take mechanic along.

for aged care/disability,there is somewhere in dandenong(south east melbourne) you can do a one day course with fourteen assignments and you get a certificate.the cost is about $1900.Good thing is you can take the course on credit and pay after you start earning money.i will be doing this after we move and the kids begin daycare.Just received the good news some minutes ago that our house application has been approved and we can move in.Its a 3bed,2bath house in south east melbourne going for 375 weekly(me and vinsmuft go be neighbours).will hook you up when you land with the care contact oknee.

hubby did a two day forklift course($400).He has also done a police clearance and working with children check so he can work in the aged care/disability sector(pls opt for disability instead of aged care as aged care dey much more physically tasking).
This saturday though,he has an appointment with a career coach/counsellor who is going to help him build his cv and work with him till he gets a job in his accounting/auditing field.This is costing money same with every other check i have listed above.
You will all find out nothing at all is free in OZ.Even when you buy pizza,you go pay for delivery.

The pay is a bit above decent.The guy we stay with works with autistic people and he earns $33 per hour week days and $51 weekends.His wife who is a registered nurse earns $40 week days and $73 weekends.There"s talk in some places that aged care/disability workers might not earn as much from July this year but i do not know how true this is.
I met a couple a few days ago who were both accountants in Nigeria.Infact the wife na chartered accountant sef.Today she"s a nurse and her husband is a factory worker who is studying to be a nurse by the side himself.They moved here 3years ago and are living in their own house now.

so this place na as you make am be.

Hello. I'm in Melbourne. I'm interested in the aged care course you mentioned. Do they accept international students? what is the name of the institute? The tuition of most aged care programs I've been seeing are on the high side. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Good day all, please as regards to the PCC. Is it required to submit the certificate with the fingerprint form or just the certificate alone?

Thanks

In my own case, I submitted only the certificate which in my opinion is the actual PCC itself. And that was enough for me to get direct grant

Please who has gotten past the EOI stage to the visa stage and what documents were required. I got my letter from ACS and at the stage of writing IELTS before moving to EOI. I didn't submit my payslip to ACS because where I worked there wasn't anything like payslip or bank statement to back it up.

Please does anyone know how I'll fare at the VISA stage without those documents (payslip + Bank statement).
And concerning Police report. I did my BSc in the UK for three years. Will i have to get a Police report from the UK as well?

Returned to Nigeria 2016

Thanks

Modified: Someone said once you cross the accessing stage that you are 70% - 80% done. How true is this

For information on the documents required for the main visa application (i.e. subclass 189), please go to this link
http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/189-/Skilled-Independent-visa-(subclass-189)-document-checklist

As you have been told, its better to upload all documents you can lay hold on as regards your work including payslips, employment letters, promotion letters, confirmation letters, commendation letters, pension etc. You will do yourself a whole lot of good if you do so.

Yes once you are given an invitation to apply, you are almost home and dry.
