From what I know about him, he's a former student of Tuchel who in turn was mentored by the legendary Wolfgang Frank. Jurgen Klop also went through Wolfgang Frank's mentorship. David Wagner, the manager at Huddersfield is another of the Wolfgang Frank philosophy. He's been impressive with Huddersfield this season.

Kelechi will be fine at Hoffeinheim, Monchenglabach, Schalke and Hertha Berlin. These clubs have been great training youngsters. In England, Southampton will be very good for him.

Outside of this Kelechi matter, am surprised nobody have brought this up. Carl Ikeme have been ruled out of the season. This means he is out of the South African game and maybe out if the Cameroun games (I believe he will still be recuperating). Where do we go from here?
I think Rohr brought up the recall of Enyeama because he had prior knowledge of Ikeme's condition.
The Gk position is more worthy of discuss than Kelechi at the moment.

Ikeme's injury persists

Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is yet to recover from a niggling injury that might see him miss the rest of Wolverhampton Wanderers.


Wolves manager Paul Lambert told express.co.uk that Ikeme is definitely out of the game against Leeds United in the Championship (Wolves won 1-0 away at Elland Road) and isn’t sure Ikeme will play again this season.


"He'll definitely be out at Leeds. I'm not sure if he'll be back this season, it's not one where I'm thinking 'he's going to make it'. I'm not sure."Lambert revealed.


Ikeme’s injury meant he didn’t suit up for Nigeria’s international friendly against Senegal last month at The Hive in Barnet and might face a race against time for the Super Eagles first 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa in June.


The 30-year-old has played 31 teams for Wolves this season with eight clean sheets.

I did same some pages back too. I saw it coming.

Even with Ikeme fit. We still needed a good goalkeeper deputising him.

I find it difficult to believe that we can't find some homes based goalkeepers better than what we have on ground.

Fulham's Aluko Has Contributed To 20 Goals This Season After Scoring Against Aston Villa





Fulham strengthened their playoff chances after beating Aston Villa 3-1 at Craven Cottage on game week 43.


Nigeria national-teamer Sone Aluko helped Fulham to secure their third win on the bounce after netting his eighth goal in the second-tier on 56 minutes.


A cross found the winger and his volley hit Aston Villa goalkeeper Johnstone but still crossed the line, giving the Cottagers a crucial 2-1 lead in the process.


Aluko had a big chance to open the scoring for Fulham in the 17th minute but the goalkeeper made a magnificent save to deny him, and he saw his shot blocked in the 67th minute before drawing another save from the keeper with 11 minutes left on the clock.


The former Hull City and Rangers star has contributed to 20 goals (8 goals, 12 assists) in 42 appearances for Fulham this season.


Fulham, who occupy the last playoff spot, are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Huddersfield Town.

Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has assured players of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) that the doors have not been closed on them as far as invitation to the senior national team is concern.


The German tactician was a special guest at the Agege Stadium, Lagos where he watched Stephen Odey's of Mountain of Fire Ministries (MFM) thrashed El Kanemi Warriors 3-0 on Sunday.


It will be recalled that Rohr had promised to watch Odey, who is the leading top scorer of the NPFL with 13 goals play on Sunday as part of his move to motivate the domestic players.


Having been criticised for the non-inclusion of the NPFL stars in his World Cup qualifying campaigns, where the Super Eagles are top of group B with six points after beating Zambia 2-1 and Algeria 3-1, the former Gabon gaffer told Soccernet.com.ng at the Agege Stadium after the match that the home based players must work hard to cement a place in his team.


"I must confess to you that there are great talents in the Nigeria Professional Football League going by what I saw here today. Both Mountain of Fire Ministries (MFM) and El Kanemi gave a good fight and played quality football. At least a few players impressed me so much of which I won't mention their names," Rohr told Soccernet.com.ng


"At some point I will invite the NPFL players to the team, however, my intention of sticking with the foreign professional was basically because I know majority of them and I want the best of players that will guarantee us the sole ticket for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. I don't want to jeopardize our chances of qualifying for the World Cup," he said.

Egwuekwe Scores Own Goal To Cancel Out Gbolahan Salami Opener As KuPS Win Thriller In Finland



Forgotten Super Eagles defender Azubuike Egwuekwe scored at the wrong end minutes after his Nigerian counterpart Gbolahan Salami has given his side the lead but still ended on the winning side as KuPS edge a thrilling contest 2-1 against FC Inter.


Salami netted his first goal of the two games old Finnish League in the 28th minute but nine minutes later Egwuekwe scored an own goal to bring scores to 1-1, a score which FC Inter maintained till the half time break.


Twelve minutes from full time, Egwuekwe costly error was redeemed by Ats Purje who netted what ended as the winner to hand KuPS their first win of the season in what was their first game at home this season,


They started their campaign with a 0-2 loss away to HJK last weekend, and so far all three Nigerian players on their books with Rueben Gabriel completing the trio have all played in the games, although Gabriel has twice been introduced as a substitute.

Injured Ikeme Absent As Wolves Train Tuesday In Front Of Fans

Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme was not available Tuesday as his Sky Bet Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderrers held an open training session watched by the club's young fans, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.


Ikeme is currently out injured with a hamstring injury which could stop him from Nigeria's 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in June.


Around 100 supporters were seated in the Billy Wright Stand to watch the players put through their paces by Paul Lambert's coaching staff less than 24 hours after the side's 1-0 win at Leeds.

After the session, the players came over to the fans and spent more than 20 minutes signing autographs and taking selfies.

But let truth be told as regards Iheanacho as well. I feel as a coach, when you see a player from day one, you would already decide in your heard if you feel there is something special in him or not. I personally dont think Pep believes in Iheanacho and that will in no way help his development. I think a coach needs to see what is unique and special in a player and also work towards enhancing it especially as it has to do with his playing philosophy. Aguero's recent spike in his team play happened when Guardiola left him out of the team for Gabriel Jesus.

We saw remarkable improvement in Yaya Toure after Guardiola brought him back to the squad

Samir Nasri looked a revelation after Guardiola brought him in as a sub in the second leg play off against Steau Bucharest. So remarkable he got to go to Sevilla, got the ten shirt and became a key player.

Caballero who was awful with his feet before the arrival of Claudio Bravo is now rock solid with his feet and makes picture perfect passes when under pressure.

Fabian Delph is the latest of them.

My point remains that I am interested in the result of working with Guardiola than just game time. Despite Nacho having little to no game time, I have zero doubt that he is developing at a fast rate. When he gets a run, we will tell the difference.

Fears that the Super Eagles fine run in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers could be truncated due to the arrears of salary owed Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr have been allayed even as some companies have promised to bail out the Nigeria Football Federation from their financial quagmire.

Nigeria currently leads their 2018 World Cup qualifying group with four points ahead of their closest challengers Cameroon but off the field distractions of pecuniary matters have heightened fears that Nigeria could bungle their lead in the group.


Sports Vanguard gathered authoritatively that Rohr's three months salary arrears have become a burden to the NFF even though the coach has handled the salary issue diplomatically, turning off inquiries saying that "it's a personal issue and there is no problem between me and my employers".

Checks by Sports Vanguard, however, indicate the NFF who convinced Sports Minister to hire the coach because they had sponsors to pay his salaries were left in the lurch by some oil companies who withdrew from their earlier pledge to pick the salaries of the coach.


"It is unfortunate that the status of a Government official in the oil sector sector changed, if not, we'll not be talking about the non payment of Rohr's salary. There was a solid agreement that the oil company would foot the bills of the foreign technical adviser as their Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR). It was based on it that we went for Rohr and the coach has justified his employment without defeat on the Eagles since he was hired. Due to changes in government that affected the status of the man driving the oil companies, they too, have backtracked from honoring their pledge on the salary of Rohr", atop official of the Nigeria Football Federation said.


But the NFF in the past weeks had overcome their gloom as partners and sponsors have given them a lifeline on the three months arrears owed Rohr.


"As we talk, am sure that his salaries will be cleared. We've gotten promises from partners and sponsors and we'll not waste time in clearing his salaries. He(Rohr) has shown faith and understanding with us and we honestly appreciate his professionalism and focus on qualifying Nigeria for the World Cup as well as the Africa Cup of Nations. We can only appeal to Nigerians not to distract him from his set objectives", the source noted.


However, another snag remains the winning bonuses and allowances for the win against Zambia. Our source said that the Ministry, while absolving themselves from Rohr's salaries, should shoulder the payment for the winning bonuses they are owed.
