What if my occupation is in high availability in a particular state but not in the new MLTSSL And STSSOL, can I still nominate such occupation?

This seems like an improbable scenario as the all NOC acceptable for PR purposes must be listed under the aforementioned list above
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by teewhysafe(f): 4:04pm On Apr 18, 2017
Ok i understand. Thanks
NNBB2012:

No, you can't apply for state nomination using MLTSSL. You can only use occupation on Schedule 2-STSOL. The latter has more occupations than the former. So, if your occupation is on MLTSSL, it will definitely be on STSOL.
Alphadoor:

You definitely can.

The new MLTSSL and STSOL shares the same relationship the SOL had with CSOL list.

STSOL contains all MLTSSL occupations, so if initially, you start out with a 189 visa and u need state nomination to boost your point, you can go ahead and apply for it, based on the relationship, meaning you are now making of choice of 190 visa.

Hello @ scrollmeout ,
Good job to you and the others. I need your help or another to proof read my CDR as I don't think it will meet up to the EA's criteria.
How do I contact you?

Australian Immigration system is governed by Acts, regulations, schedules, legislative instruments and their interpretations in policies. The Act specifies that before you can nominate an occupation, it has to be on STSOL list.

This will make it easier for new members to read and understand. Continuing might be confusing unless Oga bellong updates the First page.

Thanks! Actually, the fastest I read was for Johnsontade who had about 13 days or so.

Only after I read his, did I decide to up my language points by writing PTE-A (which thankfully I clinched in the first sitting), and not claim work experience points. Thanks to him for sharing, as well. Led me unto a shorter path.

It's highly likely that work experience verification would make an application take longer. I guess.

Hello and congrats (a bit late)
Did the bolded affect the contents of your CDR? I'm also an engineer (albeit civil). Your response is eagerly awaited.

Thanks for the insight and knowledge you have shared on the Forum.
I am an Electrical Engineer with 14 Years Telecom Experience, I also have a CCIE written certification.
I would prefer an ACS accreditaion (Computer Network Engineer) rather than an EA accreditation which is more expensive and requires more time filling out CDRs.
Whats your take on this? I will be happy to have your advice please. Thanks

My degree was also in Elect/Elect Engr and i got a postive assessment for degree and work experience.

Ensure that your JD align with the description on ANZSCO but if your experience and JD is telecom then it will be better to go for it.

Also note that there will be no invite for computer and network engineer till July because the occupation celling is filled already for the year.

Engineers in the house, I got this feedback from EA this morning and am left confused on the pros and cons of the options and how to proceed.

"As stated on page 29 of the Migration Skills Assessment Booklet, Work Experience needs to be "paid at the market or salaried rate for Engineering professional" your salary for both employments is well below the market rate for a Professional Engineer in Nigeria. You therefore have two options:
1) You can be assessed as a Professional Mechanical Engineer if you provide 2 new Career Episodes based on work conducted during your academic studies. In this case, none of your work experience can be recognised as Relevant Skilled Employment. Or,
2) You can be assessed as an Engineering Technologist based on the current submission. In this case your work experience can be recognised subject to the requested documents being provided.
Please state your preference. Please also note that as of the 27th of February 2017, Engineers Australia allows only one opportunity to address any shortcomings in applications. Therefore, your application will be finalised based on the information and/or documents provided in the next submission."

I was asked to provide tax certificate which I do not have although I already provided my pension statement.

I don't know if to be mad at, myself or the so called company I worked for.

As a follow up to the above post I got my assessment report yesterday. positive assessment as an Engineering technologist with 4 years and a month experience (mixed feelings but I believe it's for the best)
special thanks to jamson for helping with review of my cdr, thanks to bnimz, mctowel01, ozymigrant, zanyzara et al for the contributions and I appreciate all that shared their knowledge to the success of this forum so far, God bless.

I have submitted an eoi for 189 with 60pts and nominated nsw for 190. Will retake English test soonest in quest for an extra 10pts would appreciate any pointer on reliable PTE-A test centers around sydney .

I also wish to enquire from the house if it is best to use a single eoi for 189 and 190 or to use different eoi.

finally although EA assessment is on a case by case basis please future applicants should note the clause on skill being payed at salaried rate, my assessor pulled that on on me but my colleague on same salary scale wasn't affected, if possible by all means avoid assessing relevant skill unless your remuneration is in alignment with industry standard (please don't ask me about industry standard pay for engineers in nigeria because i don't know).

cheers!!!

There's no definitely here mate. I'm certain of at least 16 occupations on the MLTSSOL that are restricted from applying to 190. Such occupations are not on the STSOL or on the combined list. An example is Chemical Engineer. They're indicated with ** on the list.

Cheers

I think it's better for us to wait a bit so that the new policy will be properly understood especially by Oga Bellong so as to enable him update the front page.

Congrats bro, I pray God will perfect other areas.

@ ugsams, you know that whole MLSSOL and blah blah just reset the humorous part of my DNA since yesterday ( a friend is on the verge of being affected). How those guys just decided to pull occupations out beat me to it oh, and dey come make the name long and unpronounceable, compare Sol to mlssol. The thing just weak me ( wey the memes my people?).
Anyway, by God's grace everything will work together for our success, breakthrough and breakforth. No room for despair, dem no born dem.
Like we have enough census officer for our grants now, who will kick start the arrangements ( not mamajaz oh, cos if I'm not busy in the kitchen, I will be busy in z oza ....), who will be our returning officer? who will be our Jega?

E-Family

Pls kindly help to clarify. When u nominate an occupation say Telecoms Network Engr and get an assessment as positive Engineer Tech. Is there any difference between that and nominating the occupation Engineering Technologist itself? A bit confusing since both are assessed by the same EA.
