Why I Am Rarely Seen In Public - President Buhari by Slimbideb: 5:19am On Apr 28, 2017 |
President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that despite insinuations about his alleged poor health, there is no need for apprehension over recovery. Mr. Buhari spoke Thursday evening through a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba, explaining why he had been out of public glare for a while. The statement said, “President Buhari’s absence at the Federal Executive Council meeting of Wednesday, April 26, was a last minute decision; otherwise, the cabinet and the public might have been alerted in advance. As eager as he is to be up and about, the President’s doctors have advised on his taking things slowly, as he fully recovers from the long period of treatment in the United Kingdom some weeks ago. “President Buhari himself, on his return to the country, made Nigerians aware of the state of his health while he was in London. Full recovery is sometimes a slow process, requiring periods of rest and relaxation, as the Minister for Information, Lai Mohammed, intimated in his press briefing after the FEC meeting on Wednesday. “Despite his lack of visibility, Nigerians should rest assured that President Buhari has not abdicated his role as Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria. “He receives daily briefings on the activities of government, and confers regularly with his Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo. His private residence, in which he has been spending the majority of his time recently, also has a fully equipped office. “God is the giver of life and health. We are grateful that He has seen our President through the worst period of his convalescence in London. We are thankful that the President has passed a number of benchmarks already. We pray that God continues to see him through this period of recuperation.” http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/229809-i-rarely-seen-public-president-buhari.html 1 Like

I clearly understand you President Buhari. Let us even assume you were sick that day. You have a competent vice,in the person of Osibanjo and that is why there should be no cause for alarm. There are always those intelligent Nigerians that will advice that you should resign. Ask them that when did getting sick on the Job,become a pre-requisite for resignation?bad belle people. President Buhari. You have a contract with the Nigeria people that voted you into power, and those Nigerians are solidly behind you both in deeds and prayers. The Jonatherian's wailing everyday against your good works, will continue to wail until they can wail no more. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Its not like we really need to see the president, we need to see development. US president Roosevelt was struck with polio while in office. He managed and learnt to walk a few distance with braces and was careful not to be seen on a wheel chair in public. And still he's the president that led US through World War II and economic depression. 2 Likes |

We have experienced sick presidents as a nation. I Think INEC should make it compulsory for people who vie for political post to go through thorough medical check up. Nigerian tax payers money have been wasted too much on sick presidents. 3 Likes |

Baba, rest well. We don't need to see your face just your efforts. As long as you are still spearheading the anti corruption fight while Prof tackles economic issues, it would suffice |
