If tammy abraham and lookman can value u20 WC more than super eagles then i will say lets forget about them , as they said "a bird in hand is more two birds on top of the tree".

please bro...it is early to judge those lads
after all we never groom them...England did.
they have spent the large part of their lives in UK...
so don't expect them to switch that easy...
their career is even at risk...
should they dish England... like that
they will be putting their career in the line...
so it's gonna be a gradual process...
I believe we should employ the carrot approach to lure some of them..after qualifying for the world cup...or after the under 20 world cup....
I know for sure aina success with the SE gonna convince Tammy...
I pray onyekuru move to Everton goes through too...his presence in Everton gonna help get lookman should we need him....

For real though...I spent a lot of time with my uncles and guys, they got me interested in football first. There is just something electric about an atmosphere when people are watching football, the excitement, the emotions. It's my favourite part of the game (British commentators are also awesome, they have a way with words that is just brilliant)

My uncle got me interested in boxing recently, didn't care for it until two years ago. I liken it to dancing, I love dancing. to some extent, Cinderella man also helped me like boxing.

Basketball comes second to football for me, afrobasket got me hooked. The dunking is particularly awesome grin

I tried rugby, will simply never understand it. Just looks like a bunch of men on steroids running with a really tiny ball. How they run so fast with all that muscle is interesting though, and how their team mates lift them up undecided

Swimming seems interesting mostly, but I only get to see them at Olympics...dunno why black people don't go for swimming.

Tennis I follow because of the Williams sisters and Federer. The atmosphere is quite boring to be honest, nothing like in football and basketball

There are a lot more, those are the ones that have stood out for me though....I like to know a little about everything however, so, that's my major motivation

let me say this...going by your words means...the likes of iwobi, Leon, bazee, balogun, ebuehi etc have no business with the eagles...
I don't hate any Nigeria born players...in fact one of my favorite SE player is iheancho and he is Nigeria born...likewise etebo, ndidi

I hate when players are promoted base on sentiments rather than merit....
France despite the talents at their disposal... still sweat to lure talents from other nations...Germany, Belgium are not exception...

Rohr Invites Four New Players For Super Eagles Camp In France

According to reports gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial team, only four new players will be in the Super Eagles list for the camp in France.

Gernot Rohr, the coach of the Nigerian team have decided to stick with most of the players he has worked with in the past for the camp in France, which is meant to prepare the team for their upcoming AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa.

To that effect only four new players have been called up by the coach, with two of them coming from teams in the Nigeria Professional Football League, while the remaining two are from European teams.

Alhassan Ibrahim of Akwa United and Sikiru Olatubosun of MFM FC are the players called up from the local scene for the first time, while Kingsley Ehizibue from PEC Zwolle and Eupen Henry Onyekuru completes the list.

Mikel Agu of FC Porto, but presently on loan to Vitoria Setubal is also seriously under consideration by Rohr, and stands an outside chance of making the team for the camp in France.

Exclusive – Dutch-Nigerian Forward Ehizibue In Rohr’s List For France Camp

Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal that one of the players under consideration to be called up to the camp of Nigeria when it opens in France is Dutch-Nigerian forward Kingsley Ehizibue.

Ehizibue has represented Netherlands at youth level, but the 21 year old PEC Zwolle forward has agreed to switch allegiance to Nigeria, just like his fellow Dutch-Nigerian counterpart Tyronne Ebuehi.

They both share same agent, and coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr succeeded in convincing the winger, who can also play as a full back to switch allegiance to Nigeria.

He almost made the Nigeria squad for the friendly game against Senegal in London, and the subsequent training camp in London following the cancellation of a proposed friendly with Burkina Faso.

Rohr views the enterprising winger as a player who will help booster the forward options at his disposal at the moment, especially in the area of building young players for the future.

Rohr Has Not Contacted Enyeama Over Super Eagles Return For More Than Six Months

Suggestions that Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has recently opened a line of communication with Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama over his return to the national team are incorrect.

Rohr earlier claimed that he contacted the former Super Eagles captain before the World Cup qualifier against Algeria as first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme was sidelined due to an injury.

“There is nothing like this except of course in the media because the last time Rohr spoke to Enyeama was in October,” said an official of the Super Eagles to scorenigeria.

“The goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu has assured us he has enough capable hands in the absence of Carl (Ikeme).

“Besides (Daniel) Akpeyi and (Ikechukwu) Ezenwa, we also have Alampasu and Emmanuel Daniel.

“So, we are very much covered in that department.”
Enyeama retired from the national team in October 2015 due to a fractured relationship with ex-coach Sunday Oliseh.

South Africa/Nigeria: SAFA President Lauds Bafana Bafana, Wishes Them Well

Bafana and Super Eagles fans (file photo).

President of the South African Football Association (SAFA), Dr Danny Jordaan has praised Bafana Bafana on a fine performance in their 3-1 win over Guinea-Bissau in an international match played on Saturday, 25 March 2017 at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Dr Jordaan and the entire SAFA leadership were watching from the stands and were impressed by what they saw in Bafana Bafana's first match of the year.

"You all played very well. This was very important for us to see how we match up against Guinea-Bissau. Remember this team was very unfortunate not go to the second round of the 2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon earlier this year.
They narrowly lost to Cameroon the eventual winners – so they are a quality team. They way you played, you made it look too easy. Congratulations, this is what we wanted to see. The next stop is East London against Angola and we want to win that match as well, then we go the qualifications of AFCON and the World Cup," said Dr Jordaan.

"I want to wish you all the best in your next matches and thank you for your commitment – let us continue to march on this road. You saw the crowd really enjoyed the quality of football that you produced. You have done very well and you have played the kind of football that made us enjoy the
game."

The President then outlined what is expected from the team in what is going to be an extremely important and busy year.

"You may know that as Bafana Bafana we are pursuing four competitions this year the COSAFA Cup, the CHAN but the two qualifications we want most are AFCON and the World Cup – the qualification for AFCON starts in June. There are 12 groups, and the top team in the group qualifies automatically, and that is twelve teams that go through. Then there are four best second placed teams in other words any team in any group, if you lose one match and you end up second, you will get one of those places as one of the best second placed team," said Dr Jordaan.

"What we want as the Association, whatever the mix, no matter how you get there, we want to be in the final 16 of AFCON in 2019. We start in Nigeria against Nigeria. it's a huge challenge but if we can get over that we will be on our way. Also the next two matches for the World Cup qualifiers are against Cape Verde home and away. Again if we get a good start in those two mathces we are very close to Russia 2018. Good luck once again, you have our support."

Bafana Bafana's immediate assignment is another friendly match against Angola which will be played at Buffalo City Stadium in East London on Tuesday, 28 March 2017.

Third-Party Ownership Made Celtic Cool Interest In NPFL Top Scorer Stephen Odey

Scottish champions Celtic pulled out of a move for the top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League Stephen Odey after contact revealed he belongs to an individual not his present club MFM FC.

19 year old Odey has taken the league by storm this season, with 14 goals in the first stanza of the league. A form which made an agent proposed him to the Scottish champions.

Celtic offered to have him on trial, but where later informed that the player’s right is with an individual and not MFM FC, which made the club back out of even the trial option as FIFA has outlawed third party ownership of players.

Although he has been with MFM FC for three years, former chairman of the club Godwin Enakhena confirmed that the forward is not a bonafide player of the team, as he belongs to an agent.

Presently on trial with Danish side FC Midtjylland, the forward future transfer will no doubt trigger controversy if he passes trial with the Danish team, where two Nigerians Rilwan Hassan and Paul Onuachu current ply their trade.

Remo Stars capture Ejike
by Humphrey Njoku

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) newcomers, Remo Stars have acquired the service of former Nigerian junior international striker, Bright Ejike for the upcoming second stanza campaign.

The former Sharks’ marksman last wore Heartland colours in the immediate past top-flight.

Source said the player who will watch the Sky Blue Stars’ NPFL make-up matchday 14 clash against hosts, Rivers United on Wednesday at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt has already agreed terms with the Remo landlords.

“Yes, we just registered one player during the midseason transfer window in the person of Bright Ejike for the second stanza of the on-going top-flight.

“We have agreed terms with the player to wear our colours for the second term of the league.

“He is expected to watch our match in Port Harcourt against hosts, Rivers United on Wednesday then return with the team to Remo to complete the process for formal unveiling.

“We believe his coming will add value to our upfront as well as help the team in their quest to avoid relegation,” said the source to supersport.com.

Remo Stars are at the bottom of the 20-team top-flight on 19 points 16 behind league leaders, Plateau United with a game to spare at Rivers United.
