can't you see there is no intelligence in your assertion.. that we should leave them alone
I remember in one of your comments...you said a similar thing...supernerd replied you on that one.

let me say this...going by your words means...the likes of iwobi, Leon, bazee, balogun, ebuehi etc have no business with the eagles...
I don't hate any Nigeria born players...intact one of my favorite SE player is iheancho and he is Nigeria born...likewise etebo, ndidi

I hate when players are promoted base on sentiments rather than merit....
France despite the talents at their disposal... still sweat to lure talents from other nations...Germany, Belgium are not exception...
bro pls try to read and understand, those that you mention did we beg them before they play for us, did i say all the foreign born players not to be invited? I stated the category that we should stop begging them to play for us expecially those that consider us as second choice

why should we not leave them alone when they don't want to play for us?

If you like see it as hate, thats my opinion

And i will say it again "a bird in hand is bigger than two birds on top of a tree"

that analogy does not go with the super eagles...
the door should be left open for everyone... in respective of your place of birth or parentage as long as Nigeria is in their blood..
so let us relax and let ROHR do his work...

Sir Komekn... abeg no vex... I really have to run now... when I return I will reply this... if necessary...

Haven't exactly read all of it sef coz I am in rush hour now.... thanks.

* Modified *

Okay Sir Komekn... I am still engaged but stole a little time to read your comment and then reply... smiley

I understand you... we should judge based on current form and also top potentials in terms of present continuous.... wink But you see, you cannot class Osimhen as a player being called up based on past glory alone.... this is a lad that has always impressed Rohr in the super Eagles Camp while mixing it in training with the big boys of the team.... He is a player with top potentials who did it at the U-17 level and about a month or two later, did it again in impressive fashion at the U-23 level....

His class and potentials are not in doubt and had it not been for injury, he would have made a couple of bundesliga appearances before this season runs out.

In Osimhen, we have the future... and in as much as Rohr works to deliver in the present, he must keep a keen eye also on the future.

Osimhen is not a player with just past glory but a player with reputable talents and potentials which if given a chance after his comeback from injury will surely blossom. You can take that to the bank. smiley wink

................

Now on Ebere Eze's possible invite for the France camp, well.... I think Rohr just wants to have a closer look at the lad to see if he merits future invites and this is if the reports of his invitation are true in the first place.

I am sure The Likes Of Aluko, Onyedimma, and co are on the NFF radar as Pinnick himself has a thing for the English borns of Nigerian blood...

We cannot invite all at once.... Right now, Rohr wants to have a look at Onyekuru, and a few players from the home front... like Sikiru and Alhassan Ibrahim.... so plsss Sir Komekn... just exercise a little more patience with Rohr.... Everyone can't be invited at once and also the bulk of the team he knows will always be called to camp to ensure that he keeps a vital factor needed for a national team to keep bonding and getting stronger and more cohesive.... That is "Continuity" smiley

................

Now about the game you saw.... I am sure you meant Ike Ugbo and not Uche Agbo.... smiley

Then ofcos Tariq Uwakwe, and co..... I know of these Chelsea youngsters and more.... I believe with time, the real deals among them that would add more super quality to the super Eagles in the long run will be given a good look in....

It is just sad we missed out on the Caf u-20 AYC and now FIFA U-20 WC, we would have used that to cap and see some or maybe a few of these youngsters in the green and white.... so for now, it is one step at a time and has to be that way..... thanks. smiley

Yes you are right it is Ike.

Because of my association with football I realise that the one thing that makes a difference is the word OPPORTUNITY.

I know hundreds of Nigerian origin players in the English league system.

When it comes to England selection even if you do not agree with the team selection. You can still rationalise the team selection pattern.

In this regard it's almost impossible for a player to come from championship and be playing for the 3 Lions.

Wayne Rooney is not having a great time at Man.United, he is struggling to get in the 3 Lions.
Club performances have been good but he is not a first team regular at Manchester United anymore.

When sentiment is put aside, opportunity should be by merit and clear methodology and attainment. This makes it easier for players to understand what the performance standards are. They are then able to pursue those standards with greater motivation knowing that if they perform they will be given an OPPORTUNITY.

When you are returning from Injury it will take months to get back your fitness and form. That will also require competitive games as well.

I would not invite a player returning from Injury to camp, it's unfair on the player as well as the players who are putting in top performances in thier clubs.

Battle on as Dele Alli and Tottenham overtake Alex Iwobi and Arsenal

One of the main storylines from Tottenham's 2-0 win over Arsenal last Sunday was how it highlighted the different trajectories the north London rivals are on.

Spurs' win also highlighted the alternative courses each club's young prospects are taking. While Tottenham's attacking midfielder Dele Alli had another outstanding game, Alex Iwobi watched from the bench as an unused substitute -- a role he's had to get reacquainted to.

Iwobi, 21, is three weeks younger than Alli -- a player he was frequently being compared to after bursting on to the scene last season. Right now, though, they seem light years apart.

Just like his club, Iwobi has seen a promising campaign reach a disappointing end. He has not started a game since the 3-1 defeat at Liverpool in early March, making just two substitute appearances in eight games since then. This for a player who was keeping both Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott out of the side when he broke into the first team as a teenager a little over a year ago, and retained his starting role for the first two thirds of this campaign.

Now Iwobi is back where he started, on the outside looking in, fighting for another chance to show what he can do. That's often been the story for the Nigeria international, who has frequently told the story of how he almost got released from Arsenal's academy on several occasions but always managed to overcome the odds.

"My journey so far has been a bumpy ride, so it's something I look back on and say to myself: 'If I can overcome things that I believe were worse than what's going on now, then surely I should be able to overcome this,'" Iwobi said in the matchday programme for last Wednesday's game against Leicester, candidly discussing his situation.

He certainly has the talent to overcome his current struggles. He remains the best prospect to come out of Arsenal's Hale End academy since Jack Wilshere and possesses a combination of size, strength, technique, vision and pace that could make him a unique player.

And perhaps it's unfair to read too much into his recent demotion to the bench, as a number of factors have contributed to his lack of playing time. Firstly, Alexis Sanchez returned to playing on the left wing -- the position Iwobi normally occupied.

And with Arsenal were going through one of their roughest stretches in years, perhaps Arsene Wenger simply felt more experienced players were more likely to turn the ship around. The recent switch to a back three formation has left Iwobi without a natural role in the lineup, with Sanchez and Mesut Ozil occupying the attacking positions he's best suited for.

One of Iwobi's strengths is his versatility, as he can essentially play four different positions in Wenger's traditional 4-2-3-1 formation. But he still lacks the defensive qualities to operate as a wing-back or central midfielder in the back three system, and he will have to remain patient until Wenger decides to revert to his normal tactics -- which is probably only a matter of time.

There is no reason to write Iwobi off just yet. To borrow one of Wenger's current favourite phrases, he has it "all in his locker" to become the top class attacking midfielder Arsenal are hoping for. In fact, if he does reach his true potential, Arsenal may not have to spend a pound on replacing Ozil if the Germany playmaker leaves the club.

And who knows, perhaps he can still catch up to Tottenham's Alli as well. If Arsenal want to quell Spurs' uprising, they may need him to.

Exclusive: Leicester City Star Ndidi Headlines Midfielders That Will Report For International Duty (Full List)

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Leicester City rising star Wilfred Ndidi will travel to France to link up with the Nigerian national team, two days after the Premier League champs face AFC Bournemouth on the final day of the season.

There had been doubts as regards to the availability of the defensive midfielder and Ahmed Musa for the training camp in Corsica and Paris, but those doubts were put to rest when the Foxes were knocked out of the Champions League by Atletico Madrid.

In total, five midfielders are guaranteed to be on duty when the training camp begins on May 23.

Tianjin Teda midfielder John Obi Mikel and Trabzonspor star Eddy Onazi have been left out of the squad due to club commitments but are in contention to make the roster for the African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa, barring injury.

Lyon, Three Others Send Scout To Watch Leicester City Target Etebo Against Porto

Leicester City linked Nigerian forward Oghenekaro Etebo is also courting interest from teams in France with Lyon, Marseille, Montepellier and Lens eyeing a summer swoop for the CD Feirense forward.

Etebo was offered to Premier League champions Leicester City by a scout close to the national team of Nigeria, and the club have been monitoring his progress in view of a move in the summer.

However in addition to competition from Turkish side Fenerbahce, four clubs from France have also joined the hunt for the 21 year old who has two goals from 21 games in the Portuguese League this season.

The clubs were all present in Portugal to scout Etebo during CD Feirense league game against FC Porto. Scouts from Lyon and Lens were spotted again during his club’s game last weekend against Maritimo.

His Portuguese side CD Feirense have maintained that the forward will be allowed to leave the club, only if a bid that matches their valuation of the Nigeria senior international is made.

Chelsea Offer Nigerian Whizkid New Deal Worth N1.3 Billion Per Season After Breaking Record

English Premier League side Chelsea are keen to tie down England U21 international of Nigerian heritage Tammy Abraham to a new deal.

The London Evening Standard has now revealed that The Blues will offer the prolific striker a new contract worth £50,000-a-week (approximately N1.3 billion per season in Nigerian currency).

Abraham will double his wages if he puts pen to paper on the new deal as he currently earns 25,000 pounds every week.

The 19-year-old has impressed on loan at Bristol City, netting 26 goals for the Championship side in all competitions and is the second top scorer in the division.

He has broken the record for the highest number of goals scored by a teenager in the English second-tier previously held by ex-Fulham striker Moussa Dembele.

Arsenal Rising Star Iwobi : I Have A Long Way To Go In My Career & Things To Prove

Alex Iwobi was pleasantly surprised to see the redeveloped Hale End Academy for the first time.

The Nigeria international graduated from the academy, along with his good pal Chuba Akpom, and was rewarded for his efforts with the U23s when he made his debut for the first team against Sheffield Wednesday in October 2015.

“It looks so futuristic compared to when I was there. I’ve seen new buildings, new pitches, and it just looks amazing,” Iwobi told arsenal.com.

“Someone sent me a picture of my photo hanging up at Hale End. I thought, ‘That’s crazy because back in the day I was looking at Jack Wilshere and all the big players that have come through’.

“I wouldn’t want to say that I’m one of them because I’ve still got a long way to go in my career and things to prove, but I’m one who has graduated through this academy and it’s a crazy feeling.”

Héctor Bellerín, Cesc Fàbregas, Sebastian Larsson, Johan Djourou and Hal Robson-Kanu graduated from the Hale End Academy.

Exclusive: Real Reason Arsenal Loanee Nwakali Was Not In Squad For Last League Game

Arsenal loanee Kelechi Nwakali was not involved in MVV Maastricht's 3-1 loss to FC Volendam last Friday at the Kras Stadium.

The official word from the coach of MVV, Ron Elsen, was that the Nigeria U20 skipper was rested after complaining of fatigue, but a source close to the attacking midfielder has informed this website that he missed the game because of FC Volendam's artificial pitch.

''It's not about Kelechi being tired, it is not good for him to play on synthetic pitches. If he plays too much on the artificial pitch, it will disturb his shin, '' a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com .

''He has to rest, doctors told him he has to rest. In London, it's hard to see those pitches.

''He has resumed training with MVV and should play their next match.''

Kelechi Nwakali, 18, has made 29 appearances in all competitions for MVV this season, scoring 2 goals.

Kanu Tips Chelsea Victor Moses To Win Next Africa Footballer Of The Year Award

Former Arsenal forward Kanu Nwankwo says Chelsea flying wingback Victor Moses deserves to win the next CAF Africa Footballer of the year award due to his performances for Chelsea this season.

Victor Moses has been ever present for Chelsea who are on course to win the double this season, as they currently lead the English Premier League with less than four games to go, and they are also through to the FA Cup final.

Kanu believes Moses has performed way above any other player from Africa this season, hence deserve to be rewarded with the award which is currently held by Algerian Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez.

Former Arsenal striker and two times Africa Footballer of the Year, Nwankwo Kanu feels no African footballer is worth the 2017 CAF award other than Chelsea star-man, Victor Moses.

“Moses has proved critics wrong. It is now left for CAF to do their rating. As for me, he deserves the 2017 CAF award. Although the season is still on and no one can tell what future will be.

“The likes of Aubamayang and Sadio Mane are dangerous to compete with but I still have a strong belief in the Nigeria forward.

“Despite playing out of position at Chelsea, he finds it easy to break opponents’ defence with ease and if he keeps this fitness alive I see him becoming the next African footballer of the year,” Kanu was quoted as saying by Sports Village Square.

Udeze : Ndidi, Moses Crucial For Super Eagles AFCON , World Cup Hopes
By Izuchukwu Okosi

Former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Udeze has identified Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Moses as key to successful 2018 World Cup and 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying campaigns for Nigeria, Completesportsnigeria. com reports.

The Leicester City and Chelsea stars have been mainstays for their Premier League clubs this season.

"The form of Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Moses has been inspiring and they will be key in Nigeria qualifying for the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations, " former West Bromwich Albion left-back Udeze told Completesportsnigeria.com.

"This season they have been the standout performers from Nigeria although I feel Ndidi edges Moses. Ndidi arrived in January and has been playing as though he had been there forever.

"However I want to add that despite Ndidi's good form, talk of him replacing Mikel Obi is a bit premature. Mikel is still on board and has at least three or four years of top flight football in him.

"In the other leagues in Europe there are good players no doubt but these two have been wonderful.

"And yes the left-back position is where I would like to see competition when the qualifiers start. Elderson Echjejile has been okay but needs some guys to challenge him for places."

The Eagles will regroup later in the month ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, which start in June.

South Africa/Nigeria: Krol to lead Bafana Bafana Against Super Eagles

Bafana and Super Eagles fans (file photo).

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has hired former Orlando Pirates coach, Ruud Krol to lead Bafana Bafana in their Cameroun 2019 African Nations Cup and the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

South Africa will meet Nigeria in a Cameroun 2019 Nations Cup qualifier in June and Krol’s mandate is to ensure the Bafana Bafana beat the Super Eagles to the ticket. Nigeria and South Africa missed the Gabon 2017 edition of the Nations Cup.

According to Africanfootball.com, Krol’s appointment follows months of speculation regarding the vacant coaching job as the association was searching for Shakes Mashaba’s replacement.

Mashaba was axed in December last year after he was found guilty of gross misconduct following his utterances towards SAFA bosses after the 2-1 win over Senegal in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

Names such as Stuart Baxter, Gavin Hunt, Hugo Broos, Herve Renard and Carlos Queiroz have been mentioned as possible candidates to lead the side.

However, according to The Mail & Guardian, SAFA have settled for the Dutch mentor as he is seen as someone with extensive knowledge of the African game, both at club and national level.

It is reported that the ex-Oranje skipper has agreed terms and conditions with SAFA to take charge of Bafana after the organisation had initially flirted with Queiroz.

After failing to secure their preferred candidate and with Bafana due to line-up against Guinea Bissau and Angola in friendly matches in the next seven days, SAFA opted for the ex-Zamalek and CS Sfaxien manager.

“He has coached in his native Holland. But he has also worked mainly in Africa since 1994 when he took charge of the Egyptian U-23’s and later the senior team and what appears to have given him an added advantage is that he is available to start working without delay,” said a source to the Mail & Guardian.

“SAFA stated openly when they advertised the post that the criteria required for a successful Bafana Bafana coach would be an intimate and extensive knowledge of the African game.

“The criteria as elucidated by SAFA goes on to point out that the successful candidate must have an excellent understanding of the South African playing philosophy, or playing style, as some people like to describe our approach to the game.

“In fact, it goes on to explain that he must have international coaching experience with a good track record allied to a vision and passion for football development and good player management to complete SAFA’s Vision 2022.”

Integrity: NFF demands total compliance, asks for resignation letters

The Nigeria Football Federation has moved to enforce earlier circulars it sent out to all its affiliate bodies in respect of football officials playing multiple roles that amount to conflicts of interest in the football space.

In a letter dated 2nd May 2017 and signed by the General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the Federation unequivocally requested “all affiliates to send to the office of the National Integrity Officer received copies of resignation letters by all affected officials on or before 12th May 2017.

The said letters should be scanned and sent to the following email: christian.emeruwa77@gmail.com .”

For avoidance of doubt, the NFF listed the following as specific issues contained in previous circulars to its affiliates:

1) We have observed that some Club Officials are currently operating as Match Commissioners in some strata of our Leagues. In view of these reforms, No Club Official should be appointed as a Match Commissioner/ Referee Assessor in any of our Leagues in Nigeria.

2) Also, we advise that No State Football Association Secretary should be appointed as a Club Secretary, considering the fact that the State FA Secretaries in most cases are the chief organizers of matches within their territories.

3) State Football Association Chairmen that are appointed as Independent Directors in our leagues should no longer be appointed as Match Commissioners/ Referee Assessors in our league games.

4) State Football Association Chairmen should not be doubling
as Football Club Chairmen. Hence, all State FA Chairmen that are holding dual offices as Club Chairmen are advised to either relinquish the State FA Chairmanship position or that of the Club Chairmanship position within three (3) months from the date of this Circular.

5) State FA Chairmen that are also appointed as Board Members of Football Club Boards are to also decide to either be Club Board members or State FA Chairmen as they are henceforth not allowed to hold dual position forthwith.

6) All NFF Executive Committee Members, NFF Management and Staff, State Football Association Chairmen and their respective Board Members, Club Chairmen and Officials, Coaches and all other Football Officials are hereby directed to desist from Acting as Intermediaries (Agent/Managers) to players forthwith.

7) No Official shall be allowed to occupy dual position as a Coach and also as an Administrator i.e as either a State Football Coach and member of State FA or as a Coach and Chairman of a Football Club hence those affected are advised to choose one on or before 2nd May 2017.

8.) All Serving Referees that are occupying State Football Association positions either as Board Member, Secretary of State FAs or Chairmen are to choose to remain with one of the two Official duties.

“It is instructive to remind all concerned that the Nigeria Football Federation shall open up Disciplinary proceedings against affected persons should they fail to convey the evidence of resignation of their affected portfolios to the office of the National Integrity Officer on or before 12th May, 2017,” the letter concluded.

Exclusive – Man City Grant Hoffenheim Permission To Speak With Iheanacho

The future of Manchester City Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho might be decided sooner than later, as Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim have been granted permission to speak with the forward.

Iheanacho doesn’t fit into the playing style of manager Pep Guardiola despite his high goal conversion rate, with the manager preferring other payers ahead of the Nigerian in attack.

Guardiola has frozen him out of the first team set up since the start of the year. A move which has alerted top clubs in Europe who are keen to have the forward who has been told he is free to leave.

As exclusively reported by this portal, Hoffenheim are one of the numerous clubs chasing his signature this summer, and reports sourced by our transfer expert Daniel Martins has it that they have been granted permission to speak with the forward.

To that effect Hoffenheim’s sporting director Alexander Rosen will meet with the forward before the end of this month to reel out the plans the club has for him.

However Manchester City have made it clear that the 20 year old forward will only leave on loan or an outright sale with a buy back clause included in any deal they will agree for his permanent transfer.

What did I miss? Nice move for separation of Powers @Thesupernerd. We need a breakdown of the overfamiliarity that makes the local league to be a mess of itself. Remains this home win syndrome that is still happening like the ice age squirrel that refuses to part with that nut.

it is so obvious that they don't want you....
he should borrow a leaf from KVB, V. Moses...
