Osemigho: @expertman On a more serious note, see if the above format gives u some ideas on how to start. Google samples too. Remember no plagiarism. Once you start writing, you will definitely flow. Then, come back to request for proofreading assistance. Was once in ur shoes too. expertman: Honestly I understand how you feel, but you've got a better advice through the gurus. Why you should write your Sop: 1) No one know your educational background. 2) What got you interested in the proposed program 3) Relationship between your UG and proposed program. 4) your goals ( during the program and after the proposed program) 5) financial status 6) social/home tie. Don't feel offended. write anyhow/anyway you can write, captured all the areas advised earlier by the gurus and then ask for help to review your SOP. It shall end in praise. 4 Likes |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by AAOL: 1:32pm On May 04, 2017 |
CanadianNurse: Thanks. To all Visa applicants here, please start looking for ways to pay your first year academic tuition fees or have the money liquid and available. Reasons: I have noticed CIC is now requesting for payment of tuition fees before approving visa. Again, I noticed this request comes before getting TRV. They started this with Feb applicants and that was when CBN made significant changes to their Forex policy. **my own opinion pls |

sunvick: Well based on my understand, they tend to address the same issue, but the format may be different. Like me, my statement of purpose contained the following, in a letter format; 1. Brief introduction of myself 2. Why I chose the university 3. Why I chose the program 4. Why the program is different from the one obtained in Nigeria 5. And assurance to return on completion of my program. My Letter of explanation on the other hand addresses each issue raised by the VO in my previous denial, what I have done yo correct it and explain what isn't clear to the VO that made him/her to deny me. You can as well let your letter of explanation address each of the following point separately; 1. Available funds 2. Purpose of visit 3. Home ties 4. Assets e.t.c All what I have stated are my opinion and how I did mine. Thanks |

expertman:your post has attracted some critics so far. To write a good SOP, I have always seen different formats and opinions on how to write it but to me there is actually no standardize format in writing this. but any good reader would want to see a sequential flow without repetition from introduction-body-conclusion and ability to paragraph while structuring your statement is also necessary to make it interesting. some tips have been laid out to make you revolve your statements in accordance. Like introducing your purpose for the statement, educational background, achievements in relationship to the program, reason for this program and prospects, career advancements, why this school, why this country, conclusively your career goals. if applicable for TRV application, financial breakdown if necessary, home ties, bla bla ... I will advise you if you can to at least try because when you would want to write ENGLISH TEST, like IELTS,PTE etc. especially for the WRITING category you would understand you need to be technical and creative in writing to be able to achieve higher points if your are aiming for Permanent Resident. Additionally so many who are not on NAIRALAND got TRVs without SOP. but don't try this if your application got some ''undones'' and demanding questions. More so your profile, the type and manner of study program would demand a convincing SOP with devoted hours or just fairly written ones which could take me one hour as the case may be. Coming to the scene that your post generated, if you can meet my demand I will do so, yes ranting is allowed. Writing a good professional sop requires devoted time which if for example I am a banker, with the stress of work and family I can hardly write a good one that may facilitate visa approval. That does not mean that if I am jobless/idle or my work gives me time like Govt. works, with the tips here that I can't write it? of course I will! hence the need for one's service as long as you can give me the primary details of yourself to assist in writing. People will plead and plead for some people to help proof-read their SOPs thus delaying their submission for TRV application which some annoyingly just submit like that, some may even ignore your PMs/mails as a result of attending to their primary needs. This is because they are not being paid. if something to motivate was attached.. you would have seen the difference on this forum from interested ones to do so A good sop requires devoted hours, days + advanced learner's English dictionary beside the table + Panadol extra pack & a glass of water + fuel/diesel for generator b/c PHCN is never trusted at least you don't need discomfort when writing this when you come back from work. Bro to be realistic many would have come out openly to get paid to do this for you but....to be continued. To whom it may concern............ 6 Likes |
