It is a link to a guide on the for filling of cic form. This is what Question 9 states:
Check the box to tell us if you are applying from the country you live in.

If you checked “No”, choose the correct information:

The name of the country where you are applying from,
Your immigration status in that country by choosing one of the following:
Citizen
Permanent resident
Visitor
Worker
Student
Other
Protected Person
Refugee Claimant
Other: You must fill out this section if you chose “Other” as a status.
The dates (From – To) that you have been living in that country.
If you are not a citizen of the country where you are applying, you must send proof of your legal status in the country you live in when you submit your application. How can that be reconciled to my friend not being eligible to apply for a study permit from the UK? P.S I am only trying to come to terms with your opinions to enable me make an informed decision when I eventually want to apply. I respect everyone's opinion. We are all learners and will learn even until our last breath. Thank you.

Why don't you want to go through the express entry route directly. Osemigho suggested this to you sometimes ago. You have a master's degree and if you can ace IELTS, you have a great chance of getting a high point. If your spouse can evaluate her result also and ace IELTS, that will even boost your point the more. What you are looking for in 'sokoto' is in your 'sokoto'. That is my advice for you Sir.

It is safest for the money to be in your account until you get the permit. Those guys are unpredictable. The VO might request for your statement after 3 months of holding on to your package. What do you do then if you have already returned the money?

Funny enough, with the recent development, all applicant MUST have funds for study available. There will be no such thing as borrow anymore because an applicant either will show the embassy that money is already domiciled in canada or the bank will assure the embassy that funds are on deposit and will be transfered to canada.

So how will a bank give such assurances when kobo no dey the akant again after submission? The reality now is that person MUST get money for study in canada.

The prayer now go be say make the embassy send that mail to get assurance from the bank if person never pay or transfer any fees/funds. It's even more important now than medical mail because application still get refused after medical call but that recent mail from IRCC give more confidence of an approval if the bank assurances are given.
