If only CAN can comprehend the point you are making they will cease making untenable explanation.

I believe you're not slow. Don't act like you are.

The issue is not participating in a tournament organized by an Islamic country. It's whether Nigeria should participate in a tournament organized for Islamic countries.

I'm you know the implications.

You people should go and sit down and keep shut if you don't have anything reasonable to do.
What have you done as a body with all the killings of that woman in Kano,Abuja and the several massacre of Southern Kaduna Christians,Benue and other states in the North?

Bunch of toothless Bulldogs.

You don't get it.
The sporting Event Is strictly for Muslim Countries.
And Nigeria is not a Muslim country, hence the opposition from CAN.

It's not about who is organizing the Sports, it's about the requirements for qualifying to be among the Contestants in the Sporting Event.

The requirements includes being a Muslim Country etc, can you see where the problem is?

If there is a sports and the requirements for qualifying for it requires a Country to be a Christian Country (and Nigeria is participating) , then the Muslims can also protest.

Can you kindly name a Sporting Event that was meant for only Christian/Atheist Countries and Nigeria participated
Name 1?
Kindly educate me
Nigeria is a member of the OIC....

There are so many issues for CAN to deal with than a sporting fiesta somewhere in the world.

I can't remember the minister or person in govt that made this statement during Yaradua tenure.

"Nigeria is the only Islamic country in the world with the largest Christian Population".

To these Northerners,Nigeria is an Islamic country that's why there is always the fear of Islamization in the South.

Cameroun is also participating in the competition. Is Cameroun a Muslim country? CAN should stop bothering about frivolities and focus on important issues.

You are da.ft!

Muslims can represent the country but since our Constitution says we are a SECULAR COUNTRY (for good reasons too!), that participation and representation should not be based on ISLAMIC RELIGION only.

Why is there no Mathew or Peter or Ezekiel (all Christians and nigerians) in that contingent?

I am sure we both know why.

Nigeria is a secular state where we have both Muslims and Christians, Now CAN is writing federal government to stop Nigeria from participating in a sport because the organisers are Muslims but there is nothing bad if we participate in any sport organised by Christians or atheist.
my question is how does individual either christian or Buddhist participating in a general sport organised by Muslims affect the individual religion.
this is pure hate of Islam with no logical reason.
you got the whole thing twisted. Is it that the organizers are Muslims or the sport is organised for Islamic countries? Please read over again.

point of correction, the said sport is purely and solely for ISLAMIC COUNTRIES, and Nigerian is NOT AN ISLAMIC COUNTRY. it's not about the sport, it's about the wrong message her participation will be sending out if allowed to participate. if it was a normal sporting event without any embargo on religion, it's would have been OK but coz is purely for Islamic countries, then it's a no no for Nigeria to participate.
with ur own view Nigeria should not participate in any sport because is organized in Christian country.

Cameroun, Ghana or Gabon participating doesn't have anything to do with Nigeria.

I'm very sure that if it was a program organised by a christian organisation, strictly for the non islamic countries and Nigeria participated in it, if muslims should complain about it just like you all are complaining now, you will all still defend your religion. So, no matter what, I will always defend my religion!

CAN should shut the fvck up and work on improving their battered image.

Uganda is a member of that federation and they have 84 percent Christians to 14 percent Muslims.

Also, the federation even allows non-Muslims from member countries to participate. It is not really that Islamic, at least as far as participation is concerned.

Instead of CAN spewing trash as usual, why can't they read up on the Federation!!!

Trouble loading. A dog that will get lost will not listen to the whistle of the hunter. FG should trek with caution. Any calculated attempt to manipulate the secular status of Nigeria is an evil wind that will blow no one any goodwill. The elders of the land should not keep quiet. The time to speak up is now. A word is enough for the wise. The flies have been eating the sore but the day the owner of the sore will eat the flies let no one raise alarm. CAN has spoken.

Lets ask questions

Why does our Naira notes all have Arabic on them?

Why does our Army and other millitary parasatals have arabic on their unifrom and logo?

Why is our National assembly building and all other buildings shaped as a mosque?

Why is our Flag having green as a basic colour just as all other islamic countries, is it because it is on record in Islam that Green is Mohammeds best colour? look at saudi arabias flag, pakistan, morocco, libya etc

I am not a fanatic but I want a secular Nigeria not a Islam Country.

Read the history of Turkey and Iran.. you would shake for our country.

well. you are 80 percent fanatic. okay now?

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/08/minister-nurudeens-islamic-republic-of-nigeria/

THE unsavoury consequence of Nigeria’s membership of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, is rearing its ugly head.

The surreptitious, nocturnal, and unconstitutional enrolment of Nigeria into that Islamic forum effectively put this country out as an “Islamic country”, at least by perception, though our Constitution is unequivocal that we are multi-religious without an official state religion.

The more appropriate thing was for our Moslem community, perhaps through the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, with the Sultan of Sokot as its head, to register with the OIC, attend its meetings, participate in its conventions and pocket all the benefits it is touted to heap upon its members.

That way, non-Muslims would not be bothered since the Christians also have their own international affiliations through their various church organs.

There is a big buzz over the internet, that Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Nurudeen Mohammed, while at a recent meeting of the OIC in Saudi Arabia, described Nigeria as an “an Islamic State with the largest Christian population”. A furious President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor condemned Mohammed for that alleged assertion, calling for his immediate dismissal.
