HDVideos:1. The man that designed Nigeria flag is even a christian. 2. The arabic words you see in our Naira notes do not exist in arabic dictionary (i.e Naira asirin, naira iri abuo etc are not arabic words). They were just written with arabic alphabets and this is because before the british came, Northerners have devised a means of writting their natives language just like transliterating other landuages to our own native language which is witting with arabic alphabets becos they had been introduced to Islam and taught basics of arabics. Also, every of the major tribes is being represented on our Naira notes, if the Northerners insist writting theirs using arabic alphabets is what they want, how is that your problem? Contrary to your claim, not all our Naira notes contain it again. 3. Lastly, like someone had already said itz not about religion, itz about the game. Christians are not forced to participate. If there is anything like "All Christians Nations Games" nobody won't stop Nigeria to participate or has it ever happened before? 2 Likes |

Mcowubaba:As far as CAN agrees to subsidising religion, they should go and sit down. The moment CAN comes out to say Nigeria is a secular state, they should denounce every government participation in religion. |

flex04:we have both Muslims and Christians in Nigeria, Nigeria has the right to either participate in either muslim, christian or traditionalist sport not one side trying to condemn the other. that my point |

HDVideos: If they have answers.... Why does our Naira notes all have Arabic on them? First, it isn't Arabic that is on our notes, it is the Hausa Language, written in what is called the Ajami script. Hausa has been written in the Ajami script for at least four centuries, until the British brought in the Roman script in the 20th century. The Ajami script is derived from the Arabic script...but that does not mean an Arabic speaker can read it.(An Arab won't understand it.). Other languages written in the Ajami script include Persian(the language of iran) and Turkish(Turkey's language). And to use another example....Japanese is written in the Chinese Script (Kanji) as was Korean . It may look similar to Chinese, but a Chinese person won't understand Japanese written in the Chinese script. English, many of our Nigerian languages (Hausa inclusive) are written in the Roman script. The Igbo nation has its Nsidibi system of writing too. Why does our Army and other millitary parasatals have arabic on their unifrom and logo? That is a carry over from the origins of the Army...in the colonial forces..when the lingua franca for native colonial soldiers was Hausa (Many soldeirs then as now spoke Hausa.....as a sort of universal language...to link up several tribes And see the logos of the Navy and the Airforce....no Islamic signage there! Why is our National assembly building and all other buildings shaped as a mosque? Why is the US Capitol shaped like a mosque too? Why is our Flag having green as a basic colour just as all other islamic countries, is it because it is on record in Islam that Green is Mohammeds best colour? look at saudi arabias flag, pakistan, morocco, libya etc Your'e joking, right. Ireland, Italy,South Africa, Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, Australia,Lithuainia, Brazil,Jamaica.....ALL HAVE GREEN IN THEIR FLAGS.! Besides, the designer of Nigeria's flag was Mr Taiwo Akinwunmi....who was not a Muslim by the way. And just to be faceitous...Biafran flag too has green in it! LOL. I am not a fanatic but I want a secular Nigeria not a Islam Country. Nigeria is a secular country...with religious influences. Read the history of Turkey and Iran.. you would shake for our country. In fairness to Iran....the religions of Christianity, Judaisim, and Zoroastraniasim(idol-worshippers) are recognised there. You can practice those religions if you are a practicioner (Conversion to any of those religions is strictly discouraged though). And IRAN before Islam was worshipping idols by the way. Some of you Nigerians self.....reading is not yer strong suit. 2 Likes

HDVideos:Ignorant they say is a bliss So you want the Arabic inscription on naira to be removed, but you equally blind to the fact that the numeral numbers on it is not secular it's still Arabic or indu numbers. So if you can't spend the notes you can throw it away and continue spending those notes which GEJ and the CBN have successfully removed the Arabic inscription. Hypocrite! |
Re: CAN Protests Nigerian Participation In Islamic Sports by OLAJADON: 3:53pm On May 12, 2017 |
yorubaisevil:we have nothing like christian solidarity sport, my point is we have sport that are organised by non Muslims including christian atheist and any one. in this context we have Muslims and Christians in Nigeria you don't expect us not to participate in sport made for only Muslims because Christians did not have their own circular sport. whether you like it or not Islam is a unique religion, we have Muslims in Nigeria and they also have right to participate in that sporting activity. |

Afam4eva:Exactly my thoughts.. So long as The FG isn't sponsoring it, anything they choose to do is their business.. Cameroon, uganda, Benin with a christain majority population are participating. When it comes to Naija, everything is politics |

OLAJADON: Yes you are right Muslims in Nigeria can participate in any religious sports but they are not representing the whole Nigeria because Nigeria is a secular state and there is no official state religion for the country. Nigeria is a secular state with a multi religious population. Nigeria is not an Islamic nation. The title of Nigeria is the Federal Republic of Nigeria not the Islamic Republic of Nigeria, Like you have in Pakistan and other religious countries like Egypt. Nigeria is a secular country not an islamic country. |
