Can a list be created, like GCMS hopefuls? it will assist me in reaching out to those in need.

Cheers,

Genius.

Now, you are going to tailor your sop and profile towards your professional (Engineering) contribution to the firm. Make it look like, your partner handles the business why you handle the technical stuffs in the company. Ensure to paint the company as an organisation that deals in products particularly from the Oil and Gas sector and probably render some engineering services. Let the VO know that it is your proficiency as an engineer that you bring to the table, while your partner handles the business. Your sop should address this part.
Thanks a billion

1. Is immigration your ultimate goal?

2. If yes, do you know your current profile qualify very well for immigration and you don't have to wait till after PhD?

3. If yes, have you started the EE application?

If yes, congrats in advance.

If yes to question 1 but not 2, pls be aware that your profile qualify for something called Express Entry and you may have your PR ealier than you ever imagine. Join below thread and read from page 0. If you still have your passport, book IELTS GT and prepare hard for it.

Thank you @Osemigho. My desire for now is to become a Dr. of laws, and possibly become a partner in my law firm/Senior Advocate of Nigeria. Whilst PR may be an additional icing, it is not in my immediate plan. That said, I appreciate your advise and will KIV.

The Express Entry is more direct and easy than study route. However, if you jump into it without learning the basics, be aware that they can reject it's application, and there is 5 years ban for fake documents too.

If anyone, I mean anyone, in this house have a master or law degree or HND, and at least one year experience in an organization that can give you reference letter, join the Express Entry route and nairaland group(please read from page 0). It is easier, legit, and faster for your PR dream.

To those that quote and reply long text without deleting part of it, please change. To delete part of a quoted message, go into the message and delete some of it without deleting the command part- something written in brackets that include the word "quote". Please, always edit and delete, especially the one you are not replying to

Goodbye house. I am going for three weeks break. I believe someone is handling the Visa list very well.

It shall end with praises. cool

Bros I dey greet o.

I understand PR is the best route to immigrate to Canada. In fact, if you can get it then you can do further studies at a very cheap price.

BUT we should also consider the fact that if its that easy to get PR from naija, den half or 3/4 of Nigerians will be in Canada by now. There is one crucial exam called IELTS which you much get perfect scores of 8,7,7,7 and its that bad DAT you will not get PR even if you get 8.5,7,7,6.5. I have seen several people write this exam more than 10 times. Another factor is patient and uncertainty. What if the scores keep rising?.. Don't forget by june, Express entry will favour those who have siblings in Canada more. So express entry may be on this rising by then.

My point: Every decision has its advantages and disadvantages. I can choose student route and get to Canada within 3 months and prepare to follow restrictive rules and pay BIG money for fees or wait for PR which may take more than a year plus uncertainty and have everything to yourself in Canada.

2 million naira is too small my brother..
with recent development from cic, You need to show the evidence that you have paid your entire tuition fee and that you have available fund of $10,000 readily available for your first year living expenses in Canada.

i have slightly higher than the socalled perfect scores in ielts but even then the express entry is too dicey for me and dont have the patience. someone who has worked in canny is far advantaged when applying, someone who has canadian education is also advantaged, then those with job in canada are like automatic cheats in the EE pool. the whole system requires too much patience and is too dicey for us in naija.

Hello great people,if its been indicated in the reference letter issued by the bank that the funds needed would be available for export do I still need to include the cbn circular in the documents to be submitted?

Am worried that including my previous activities in my sop would make it too long ,so instead I intend to draft a CV to make up for that aspect.would that be a good idea?

Lastly,do I need to include photocopy of my certificates among the documents to be submitted?

Thanks....

oga listen and take correction Canada Is not how it used to be that you can travel first! You must prove evidence of having paid full fees for one year and readily exportable $10k CAD for your living expenses, going by the lowest exchange rate $10k cad is 2.4 million at least... Thats more than the 2milli you have already... I've not included school fees ooo and that exchange rate my not be the same with that of your bank or aboki.... So source funds

Thank you

My brother, the best is still to have dual intent. Never rely on a single route. A friend of mine got PR like six months after starting school in Canada. Even as a student, you should be looking for ways to get your PR before concluding your studies. Am even aware that you can change to paying domestic student fees after getting your PR in Canada.

I am quite in a Delima myself, I have decided to push from both cylinders. I wrote ielts in April to enter the EE pool and got 7.5 in all the sections but I know I did better than that, I want to apply for a remark in listening and reading to boost my score and also want to start the application for TRV For my MBA admission in UNB. Please I sent you a PM kindly respond I need to make some clarifications.

Sighs....thank God that you exist! Apparently, people here believe, everyone on a visa thread automatically wants to "escape Nigeria". I've seen someone here accuse another person of lying, just because the user said, he is only interested in the Canadian education.

I know Nigerians generally have bandwagon mentality, but there's really a lot more you can achieve with a good Canadian MSC/PhD, than just living permanently in Canada. There are multinational companies in Nigeria, Canada and across the world that can give you the expatriate living, especially if you are armed with essential skills, along with your international education. Also, if you have the essential skills, you can easily own a conglomerate in Nigeria. The competition doesn't even exist, as we have very few large local companies. Opportunities abound for success in Nigeria. All you need do is, create a business to fix one of the numerous problems that we have. Only that, the professional skills have to be there for you to achieve anything. It's not a coincidence that Nigeria is currently experiencing influx of highly qualified returnees in virtually every sector. Kene Mparu of Film house cinemas resigned as executive director of Odeon cinemas (the largest cinema chain in uk and probably europe) to start out his own cinema chain in Nigeria. Mo Abudu graduated from top schools abroad, but now she's raking in box office figures of her films, and owns one of the biggest TV stations in Africa. SKILL. Nollywood, oil, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, etc are all being bombarded by foreign educated people, and all people on nairaland want is a Canadian PR? People even cancelling their admissions after PR, because they are more attracted to "hustling".... Nawa.

When in the Next ten years, Forbes list is dominated by returnees and IJGBs, Nigerians will come and be complaining about some inexistent imperialism and partiality.

After my visit to Canada this year and I get a good feel of the country, it is possible that I will get my MBA there. But it is majorly because I want the qualification, the education, and most importantly, to boost my competitiveness in the company I work at the moment. Yea, living in Canada is cool and all, but I'm more interested in eventually heading the worldwide operations of the company I work now. My next promotion will have me transferred out of the country anyway.

Canadian PR is very good too, and i'm not even against trying to get one (if you're genuinely qualified), if you really fancy living in Canada or even just for the sake of it. It is also an important decision, if you want to get jobs in Canadian companies operating in areas of your interest, so you can build your professional skills. Canadian PR is not bad at all, but I just want to clarify that, living in canada all the rest of your life is not the only vision to a "better life". And seriously, if you find it hard to compete against the overwhelmingly half baked people all over Nigeria, I doubt you'll find it easier living in Canada or any other developed country; largely filled with highly qualified people, and there's stiff competition everywhere. Well, except you want to go to Canada just for the spectacle. You know, to count the speed trains and assess the beautiful boulevards, and hitech buildings cheesy.

No one should get me wrong this time, cos I still won't give replies to expantiate or explain my points. A word is enough, they say.
