Fulanis don't look like Arab just like Tuaregs. I can easily distinguish a Tuareg from an Arab from Middle-east as I can easily distinguish a Fulani from a Sudanese Arab or Horners.

These small details seem unnecessary but it carries a lot of weight when you consider the economic impact it brings to a city and a country.

I don't want a Kenyan to portray or tell my country's story, like CNN and BBC showcasing Makoko as the federal Republic of Nigeria's economic capital city.

I have decided to tell it and showcase it to the world that we are not living in the jungle, they are welcome to one of the best infrastructural developed countries in Africa. They can come and do business here.

Most yorubas will even assume Nupes and Baribas to be hausas, whereas nupes and baribas are very very much closer to yorubas culturally than they are to hausas. Likewise the Igalas too.

I doubt if having ethnic states would have helped Nigeria.

I wouldn't go that far because Yorubas are very familiar with Bariba and Nupe who they call Tapa, but yeah it's pretty bad. Oyo empire once controlled part of Nupeland and Baribaland. Even one of Yoruba deity like Sango had a strong link to the Nupes. I don't even think it is ignorance as more of generalization. Many Non-Hausa groups have similar culture. They have the same clothing style, same food, and they speak the same language, some even have Hausa names. Also some minorities just claim Hausa for simplicity. I think this is where the generalization comes from. I'm not talking about ethnic states, but rather ethnic regions that reflect the people living there.

Yorubas most of the time aren't sway one way or the other during the elections.
They always shout this and that about Obj and yet in 1999, most Yorubas didn't even want Obasanjo but instead voted for Falae. But you know who voted for OBJ? Most of the rest of Nigeria including them.

Some of them claim OBJ was an afonja who betrayed them. Lol, yet, they were the same people who gave him most of their votes and re-elected the apparent "traitor" in 2003.

They are always claiming that Yoruba people are "slave to their Northern masters" for voting for Buhari. You know Buhari attempted the presidency 4 times, but it wasn't until the last term, he won a majority among Yorubas. Hypothetically, I will remove 2007 and 2003 because let's assume they chose OBJ in 2003 because he was Yoruba. Then, how come they didn't vote for Buhari in 2011 when Buhari's vice president candidate was a Yoruba man? How come they voted for GEJ who had a Northerner as a vice president?

Even though a majority of Yorubas voted for Buhari in the 2015 election, More than 40% vote for GEJ. So Buhari's support among them wasn't even a clear/absolute majority.

If u r based in Lagos u might have seen Dem doing garuwa(selling water in truck), they also sell sweets nd biscuits in small kiosks in front of where they r doing maigadi( security). They love tea so much, and most listen to music wit only beats.


They r kinda similar to d fulanis. They r ladies r vry pretty, especially those from Nijer and they hv both blacks nd light skins.

At Idi araba for instance, they have two central mosques' very close to each oda. One is Darika Tijjaniyya and d oda is a sunni( ahlus sunnah) mosque. And they r also some small small mosques close to each oda. Most Nupes r tijjaniyyas but dey don't pray in d central most of dsame tijjaniyya apart from Fridays.



In my town, there is a mosque close to where I stay, but of d youths being Sunnis don't pray there, because dey tink those old men leading d congregation don't knw how to pray. These r people from dsame place,tribe and most from dsame family.



My point is these: Most of this tins is base on sectarian ideology rather than tribe.



In skul, most of d students leading d congregational prayer are from d mb...kwara( yorubas), kogi( igala& ibira), Niger( Nupe) and some yorubas from sw. The hausas don't complain but wen it cums to sect, de blasts demselves...wherever, u cum from,as far as we belong to dsame sect or share dsame ideology we r brothers.

Hmm, do yoruba, Kogi and Edo muslims really believe in sects? I know that most Niger and core northern muslims do, but i have hardly ever heard the former group of muslims talking about sects.

Half of my tribes people are muslims. We hardly ever hear them talk about sects.......or could it be that i have not been close enough to understand?

I am from Jos and have witnessed this. Most yoruba muslims were chased out of some muslim dominated areas in Jos during the crises. Same thing with Kaduna.

Yoruba/middlebelt muslims only lived freely in the neutral areas.

Luhya. Our counties are Bungoma, Busia, Kakamega, Transzoia, Vihiga and a portion of Nandi There are about 15 Luhya subtribes, some more closely related by ancestry. We are bordered by and heavily mixed with Nilotes. Luos on one side and Kalenjins on the other. We call each other in-laws

We are the second largest tribe but abit disinterested with national politics. Voter turnout has always been underwhelming and has caused us political disadvantage.
