Osemigho: Thanks for the write up boss. I appreciate. But I actually didn't intend to wait out for two to three months before I would do anything significant with my second trial at getting an admission into a Canadian institution of learning. More so, I have actually written 2 SOP's before; I applied to the University of Regina for fall this year but was rejected. Having said that, what I intend to do is apply to two other institution with an SOP written by me perhaps Mr. Genius would help review it before sending my application in for an M.ENG program. So, the thing here is I have never been inclined to apply for a research based program. But with the right guidance, supply of relevant materials, I know I would definitely do well in writing a befitting SOP and research proposal for a research based program. Thank you. |

CanadianNurse: I see your points. But then i feel they can be tended to easily. For example: i believe verifying documents will most probably take the same route (e-mails and phone calls), regardless of where the VO is located. It's not like VOs go about visiting organizations in person just to verify the documents issued by them. Secondly, just like gcms and CIC, there's probably an "in-house" portal for VOs, where the general trend in each country is registered, as well as the templates for requesting appropriate documents to clarify. Someone also mentioned something along the line "VOs in Ghana can relate with Nigerian environment better". I don't know how valid that view might be, knowing that VOs all over the world are full blood Canadians, and most probably hold similar views. At the end of the day though, it might be true that there's a restriction to how far an application can travel away from its origin. It is also possible that certain VOs choose to treat applications from same set of countries. Anything is possible. |

chybaz: Pls can anyone share opinion on this. I read in an Indian blog that u s and Canada have an agreement to access each others data base for visa applicants |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by maziude: 3:40pm On May 28, 2017 |
chybaz: Yes, they share information but that wont affect your application as long as you declare the refusal when applying. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by maziude: 3:45pm On May 28, 2017 |
chybaz: Hmmm... 7million wont be enough boss. In terms of finance you will need atleast 9 million which will cover your first year expenses tuition inclusive. For progression, academically and work, your profile is okay. With a proper SOP and solid financing, you should get the trv. This is my opinion based on the information you shared. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by chybaz: 4:01pm On May 28, 2017 |
justwise: I am yet to apply. I am gathering facts, so I don't end up wasting money on visa fee. But I can gather money from my family Upto 7m. School that gave me admission is toronto uni. I heard declaring the denial can spoil chances too. |

Hello Nairalanders, I need advice from the gurus here, I have secured admission to study Applied Modelling and quantitative methods (Financial Analytics stream) in Canada, my first choice was big data analytics. I am also awaiting decisions from Ryerson University and western Ontario for big data analytics. Between 2013 and 2015, I was in the UK for M.Sc. Advanced software engineering, and after the program (in 2015) I have worked with a PFA and now a bank. My reason for another M.Sc. in big data analytics basically is to give myself more career options and I also know that firms in Nigeria (banks inclusive) have done very little in big data analytics. The question is: 1. What should I include in my SOP to make a strong case (I wanted big data analytics stream, they gave me financial analytics)? No decision yet from two other universities for my preferred course. 2. I want to submit my student permit application now, but I don’t want to pay fees now because I can change my DLI in case a get a good response from the other universities, Is this advisable? Or what other options do I have? 3. Do I need a police report from the UK or Nigeria? 4. Lastly, my uncle is my sponsor, we are using one of his company's account and I can also raise some money for myself, so how do I proceed with financial support letter, the affidavit, and the documents to supply? In the financial support letter draft I have, I mentioned the course, amount (tuition +$10000CAD) and that he has financially supported my education in the past (I can get transaction details of cash deposit into my account from his children). I can get his payslip, certificate of incorporation, tax receipts, and statement of account. How do I proceed here? Please advise on any area that u can |

Pls can I just ignore it in my Canada application and be truthful, because I am not comfortable with losing. Pls can you also help me with link to list of documents deemed very important to submit in applying for the student visa. How much minimum is needed in bank balance, etc |

Hello house, kindly advice me on what to do! I submitted my application last week and while going through my photocopies now i noticed i clicked 'NO' in the area i was asked 'Have you previously been refused visa'. It was a total mistake but in my letter for application visa, i mentioned clearly that i was refused and i also gave details of the refusal. Am so confused and totally down now, i just want to know how I can correct this, a Second refusal or ban will be my fault. |

chybaz: You have no choice than to be completely honest in your application else you will be banned by the embassy. This thread and the previous ones are full of list of documents submitted by previous applicants, please get ready with pen and paper to start reading and ask question when needed. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-how-documents.asp |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by justwise(m): 5:18pm On May 28, 2017 |
chybaz: That is not a good reason as a student to apply with a dependant, you need to be very very pretty rich with a proven source of your money to pull that off if at all. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Nobody: 5:41pm On May 28, 2017 |
Adedrizzy: From what I've read on this thread you can withdraw your application immediately, it has only been a week so not much time lost and re-file with the right answer. Or, you could wait till the error is discovered and you get sent the "I have concerns mail", you could then point the vo to where you stated the refusal and might escape a ban and it might not affect your application. But why risk the latter? |
