Your economy dey .... grin

Soon minimum wages go increase to about 200 dollars for naija. grin

Many Nigerians think she is Kenyan. Actually, most Nigerians may not be able to tell East africans apart, except the horners.
I also think or see Kenyans n Ugandans to have the same or similar accents.

This is what vaax quoted.....

these is what i took from trading economics website. The Gross Domestic Product per capita in Ghana was last recorded at 3954.52 US dollars in 2015, when adjusted by purchasing power parity (PPP). The GDP per Capita, in Ghana, when adjusted by Purchasing Power Parity is equivalent to 22 percent of the world's average. GDP per capita PPP in Ghana averaged 2618.21 USD from 1990 until 2015, reaching an all time high of 3954.52 USD in 2015 and a record low of 1919.60 USD in 1990. Your 2015 data is bound to err

The Cedi was a very weak currency actually. In 2007 they did away with it due to inflation and created another currency - the second cedi that was worth 10,000 initial cedis! In 2007 1$ was worth 470 Cedis!

Despite this it's been weakening at a very fast rate. their inflation is 17% and if the trend continues it will soon be weaker than the Kenya shilling.

Same thing happened with the Zambia Kwacha in 2012 I think.

In terms of currency performance the cedi performs very poorly. Botswana is the best performing in Africa. Kenya and SA perform pretty well too.

PS

Actually 1GH cedi = 0.23$ not the other way round.

Apart from oil the Telecommunication sector is huge in Nigeria, same with Agriculture and Banking. Lagos state has no oil, yet it is higher in GDP than Kenya alone.
There are other aspects such as the fashion industry( Germans too are now beginning to love and patronize it). Lagos is Africa's economic and business hub, All of these have little or nothing to do with oil. Note that shamefully Nigeria also imports refined crude. Oil is not everything in Nigeria. You can't compare your Agriculture and Telecommunication, or Entertainment to ours. Nigeria alongside Kenya and Southafrica dominate the ICT sector in Africa, and there are so many entrepreneurs in Nigeria. We have one of the highest number of women entrepreneurs as well, if not the highest.
Forget it, oil or no oil you can't compare Kenya to Nigeria. Angola has oil afterall.
And a very high gdp, even Sudan is up there somewhere. Compare that to non oil economies and see. Oil boosts other sectors of the economy mate. Directly or indirectlt. ANd Lagos has a high GDP because it is the economic capital of Nigeria. That is a simple explanation

~~I have once seen a report where a black foreigner claimed that the number n influence of Indians n whites in Nairobi,Kenya is too much for a typical black african country buh i never thot it was that much~~.

TayserMahiri, muafrika2, PissedYagami, MtuMsuper
Is this really true?
I'm sorry if i sound so much of a critic or racist, i am not against foreigners in any way. I love em smiley buh i don't like the idea of foreigners dominating or having so much influence in African cities. Nuuh i don't. Why should they?

Yes genie, that guy is very very correct. The influence and economic domination of Indians and whites in Kenya is unprecedented. It's almost as if the colonial masters never left Kenya.
If you doubt me, pls check out the 3 richest people in Kenya and see that they are all Indians. Seriously, it's so sad sad

I sometimes tune in to Maisha magic east (the Kenyan movie channel of Africa magic on DStv) to check out Kenyans. I came across one of their movie series featuring a rich, young, arrogant and loud Indian lady and she had black Kenyans as her house servants who she was always yelling at in the movie. Now, don't you think such a movie would have been produced by an Indian?
I find that to be very insulting to Black Africans. I mean, would you ever watch a movie produced in India featuring a black or even white person with Indian house servants? It annoyed and pissed me off a lot.

I tell you, the day i saw that Indians were the 3 richest Kenyans, i stopped taking Black Kenyans seriously.

Ok Guys, these guys have come up with a new one. No need to ask Peckham or Woolwich for exchange rate. MalooFx now captures the average daily rate at Peckham and Woolwich.

http://www.maloofx.com/rate/london-forex-rates

They also went 1 step further by calculating the exact money you get after yo pay the commission of these money changers at Peckham. Nice one Maloofx

Also a brand new look great for the phone with Canada rates still represented.

http://www.maloofx.com/rate/black-market-forex-rates

The only question I have is could they link me up with where they change the Canadian dollars, my uncle needs to change some Canadian dollars

Jeeee. great. **M happy that your govnmt is working on the fashion industry. Even we in Nigeria are working on our textile productions too. A lot of importation is also killing our local textile industries sad

Yaah true, Nigeria has an advantage in entertainment with the large market, buh i still believe progress can be made without a large market as such, or don't you think? There was a time when Ghanaian movies and even musics beat Nigerian productions in quality and heavily penetrated our markets.
Congo once dominated the entire Africa with their music due to the quality.
Tanzanian musics seem to be doing pretty well, i am amazed from the quality of music videos n songs i watch from Tanzania n i heard that they have heavily penetrated the Kenyan market.
Africans have similar cultures n values and we will always patronize ourselves if we have value to offer to our products, dontcha think?

There is a large swahili speaking population n market, won't Tanzanians, Ugandans n other swahili speakers patronize Kenyan swahili movies if they are of world class quality?

Even now, you won't believe how Ghanaian movie producers are giving Nigerian producers a hot chase in terms of movie quality, (Although Ghana n Nigeria works together a lot in movie production, so their movies easily gain the patronization of the Nigerian market), what stops a collabo btw East African actors, producers, directors n co? You musn't have a united union to do such. Nigeria n Ghana share no boundary, buh our movie industry is almost intertwined.

See a Ghana movie below, there r many more of high quality like this. Some of the actors are Nigerians (the light-skinned guy at the centre and the dark-skinned guy on the left)

TayserMahiri's excuse of a large Nigerian market is just one excuse Kenyans use to excuse their poor entertainment industry.
Ghanaians produce movies with as much quality as the best movies in Nigeria. Tanzanians produce musicians and music videos with as much quality as the best in Nigeria, only that of course, Nigeria will always outnumber them in volumes.

Seems like you are a fan of Tanzanian music? I am also a very big fan too. Right now, after Nigeria and South Africa, Tanzanians have the best musicians and music videos in Africa. Infact i even think Tanzanians are better than the South Africans.

Did you follow the last Mtv music awards (both Africa and Europe)? Imagine that Tanzanian Alikiba won Nigerian wizkid to best African artiste. Even though wizkid was announced the winner in the original award show, the mistake was corrected later and the award revoked from Wizkid and given to Alikiba.
In the female category, Tanzanian Vanessa mdee was also among head to head in the nominations against Nigerian Yemi alde and Tiwa savage.
Tanzanian Diamond platnumz was also among the nominees for best African artiste of the year.
In the whole awards, only Sauti sol was represented for Kenya and cool they managed to win the award for the best collabo (which featured Alikiba).

I love and admire Tanzanian artistes with a passion and i have at least a dozen of their musics on my playlist.

Check out this new Tanzanian music by Taygrin and Vanessa mdee. So cool, you can never see a video/music of such quality and style from Kenya.

actually you did not get the fact. before the old currency was redonominated to smaller volume. it was not intended to fight inflation . the exercise was meant to reduce the volume of large paper money. In 2007 when the new cedi drop. A 100 dollar is equal to 92 ghc which is the same as 920.000 old cedis

cedis is stable for the past 24months therfore it is strong at least compare to naira or shillings even cfa curreny. there is infation in the country as a result of goverment expenditure but infation has help to increase more productivity.
