Idowu3080: Hi everyone,
I want to ask if this is normal. I received a refusal notification on my portal June 1 and when I rechecked now I saw that the final decision segment has been changed. Please see this attachment.
Please i need an urgent reply. The 'review of eligibility' status has shown that your application was refused for not meeting the requirements. So i don't think there is any thing completely different. I guess they are still structuring their website. |

tobyharwe: For those who wish to link their paper apps online....This is a step by step approach; i ve asked how to do this severally but no one cared to answer...here it is.
I ave followed this step again without luck. it highlighted the expiry date and country of issue. I filled it but no application found
(1) Go to this below listed link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp (2) Click on continue to Gckey (3) If You've already account created, login with your Username and Password otherwise Click on Sign up to go on next page and create your username, password and security questions. (4) After creating my CIC account, click link application to this account. (5) Then select category as Temporary residence and subcategory as Study Permit and extension. (6) Then select Family name, given name and date of birth option. (7) Fill your family name(surname), given name and date of birth as per Passport or Application form. (8.) Next in applicant personal info panel fill Passport information only and DO NOT FILL CITY AND COUNTRY OF BIRTH. (9) Enter your course start date given on your offer letter exact same as that. (10) Enter course end date as on offer letter only month and year is given so enter that only don't select the date. (11) Enter your DLI no. same as given on the offer letter. (12) Next search for your application. (13) Your application will be found and can be linked. (14) You can get real time updates on your paper application online.
I was getting errors and tried the same with mine and it worked so hopefully it ll work for everyone.
Note : In 24 hours you can try only 5 times to link your application and if you exceed that then you have to wait for 24 hours, so be careful about that.
Cheers and Good Luck.

I am applying for M.Eng program at University of Manitoba. Apparently, I need to secure an academic advisor before I am accepted for a Coursework + Project masters. Fellow applicants, let's save ourselves some headaches, send a mail to your department before applying. I wouldn't have known if I didn't. My problem now is I believe I know my way around emails to professors/supervisors for research based masters but for an academic advisor, I'm sincerely lost on this one. Anyone with useful tips as to the content or subject of discussion of these type of academic advisor hunt mails should please help NairaSand See below the reply from the school. Hello NairaSand, It is a requirement that a potential student should secure an academic advisor to be accepted into the Department of Mechanical Engineering programs (Ph.D., M.Sc., or M.Eng.). If you don’t have an advisor you will not be recommended to our programs. Therefore it is important to secure an academic advisor for you to be accepted into our programs. The link below will help you to search for an advisor whose research areas you are interested in. Once you have identified the professor, make a personal contact to the professor by email or phone. I advise potential students to attach a copy of an academic transcript to the email. http://umanitoba.ca/faculties/engineering/departments/mechanical/staff/acadstatic.html Regards,

This is not the answer to your question though Please and please make sure that your wife indicates married and upload your marriage certificate before she submits the application for study permit, otherwise it will be difficult for her to invite you to Canada. 1 Like |

mesh2003:
I can only comment on your 2nd question. There are jobs in every country including Nigeria. You have to prove that you are the most qualified and the best candidate each time you apply for a job. The truth is that each hiring manager is different. I finished in December, moved to Vancouver on January 15th and by the 18th I had a job offer letter. I did a PGD in global business management also. I still have friends that did masters but have not found a good full time job. So my dear, it all depends on what you are looking for after school. In the cause of my job search, I hardly saw any job Ad that asked for a Masters degree. If you have previous work experience from Nigeria, it helps a lot. The course I did gave me an opportunity of doing a 4 months internship which helped me secure the job I have today. So my dear, the job prospects are level. Most people use their previous experience to secure jobs here and not even PGD or masters qualification. @ Mesh2003 u are very correct...@Teepee85 regards ur 1st question, contact the school, if ur letter is a conditional LOA den, u have to pay d stipulated amount |

Twice I have asked for such and got it, but i at the end I got an email that the transaction was cancelled as unauthorized. Meaning - credit card theft. I usually get my money back but the trauma of the accusation is unbearable. Trust me, You don't want to have it.
My advise to anyone trying to make any international payment is to open domiciliary account and fund with aboki dollar or look for people with dollar card in your family or physically around you and pay with theirs.

I don't think we wake up one day and know how to write a good sop, it takes experience. I have learned much from you and others in the house and I want to continue learning. Bro chill up. wealth360: @maziude I gbadun your style boss. Ever since you got your trv you have been so active and helpful on this thread nevertheless you need to be very careful with how you share your sop. Am not saying or assuming that if in case your sop is copied for application of any sort your visa will be affected oooo. No. What am particular about is that try and teach these men to write good sop. Plagiarism is an offence hope you know. Make them write something and help them build it. I do that on daily bases and it has helped them a lot. @darrey and yemmdogg taught me and now am good. So train them boss.
Greetings. @yemmdogg, osemigho can't stop praying for you guys. I will rejoice with you guys and all trv hopeful soon. Bon voyage |

You need an affidavit of support from him, signed in a court. Then you need to prove the relationship between both of them by virtue of birth certificates or attestation of age. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by nelly28: 6:11pm On Jun 06, 2017 |
jnyuwa02: Thanks for your very thorough, well researched and intelligent response. You indicated not wanting to apply from Nigeria yourself. Why is that? I did my undergraduate studies in the United States and returned to Nigeria only a year ago to see my ailing mother. I am still Nigerian with an expired student visa. While in the United States, I saw many people apply for study permit while on a U.S. visitor's visa. So it is totally possible to do. Heck, I have seen people even without status, apply for a Canadian study permit in the U.S.. Those that came to the United States with a visa and overstayed it. I think the requirement in the United States for Canadian visa applicants that overstayed their visa in the United States, is that you must prove you have not been out of status in the United States for more than one year, at the time you are applying for Canada visa.
You mentioned those in Canada on a tourist visa sending their applications to the Canadian embassy in LA? Do you mean Los Angeles by LA? If so, why Los Angeles instead of any American embassy in the U.S. I remember a Canadian embassy been present in the city I lived: Seattle.
That said, thanks for all your recommendation. I will be checking Canadianvisa.com and doing the painstaking work of reading up. If I do decide to apply from Cameroun due to time factor, you can put your money down on the fact that I would be supporting my application with the best SOP possible. Yes history and God is on our side on this lonesome road less travelled. It's not a shortcut route and I am not trying to hide anything as some have suggested here. Just that my application will be late if I apply from Nigeria. I was awarded full scholarship on the recommendation of the academic unit, just waiting now for final approval papers from the college of graduate studies to apply for my permit. I cannot apply with just a recommendation, I need the official thing. Am I right here? Can take another two weeks just to get that to me. And assembling documents to prove my ties to Nigeria and buying a land and getting a deed made out in my name is going to take time too. I am not married and have not lived in Nigeria for many years. Hence the need to establish ties to Nigeria so I am not rejected. By the time I apply, it's gonna be in late July. So time is not on my side as you can see.
Sure thing, I would have my police report.
Any further knowledge and advice is most certainly welcome and appreciated in anticipation.
Bro from ur write up you did you undergraduate in U.S. den, Why not apply from U.S thru visit visa, since that was ur prospective place of your undergraduate study, u have more social & economy ties dere den Cameroon, In U.S you can apply dere will any category of TRV, but u can't in Canada I have personally experience dat U 've to apply outside Canada b for ur study permits can b granted, reason been dat must of dere visit or tourist visa is a short term single entry, so the expect you to apply for a place where u ve social ties to. NB pls I am not discouraging you from ur Cameroon thought. it jst an advice, I don't know wat u want to write in ur LOE, but dere are limits were an LOE can get u to, know mata how gud u are on it. My name is James.
That being said, I'm 34 years and married with the intention of going for my PhD in Canada next year.
However, will my age stand as a factor in giving visa as i learnt Canadians do put AGE as a criteria in giving out visas?
Secondly. I have published two books on website design and development including using open source (WordPress). What are the criteria for admitting students?
God bless you all. Bro from you proposed cert, concerning ur age u have no tin to worry abt. Regards ur second question, dat depend on d school u are opt for. each schools has dere criteria. |

Here is a piece of advise for all yet to submit their application, you need to go through the pain of reading up early parts of this thread. do not be lazy and hoping to get all the info you need in a single post, read and learn.
Also, I created a table of content listing all the documents I have attached for my application and I ensured that I linked all the items in the table of content to their respective pages on the single document (Thanks to @thesoj for the idea). this makes it very easy for the VO to navigate to the specific documents he/she is interested in seamlessly.
Use google to answer most of your questions, read the past threads, do it yourself and above all have faith in God.
congrats bro good to know they are about to enter April 2 Likes |

BRANDYAK: Boss some of us are not asking to plagiarize, its just to get some tips. With a bachelors degree you don't expect me to plagiarize, I can just get some tip's while writing. I don't think we wake up one day and know how to write a good sop, it takes experience. I have learned much from you and others in the house and I want to continue learning. Bro chill up.
Lol. Man know thyself. You can only speak for yourself not everyone. We are both saying same thing okay. Google the sample sop and start to write from it. Then send to likes mind like you or here to develop it that's how we learn. Its just my advice bro. Enjoy |

For those of us who by virtue of one reason or another had our application refused and intend to re-apply again, please, kindly order for your GCMS note.
Honestly, knowing a visa officer's actual reason and conclusion on a refused application is always a better way to avoid another refusal on same grounds. It's quite understandable the urge to reapply as soon as the previous application is refused but in so doing, it's also VERY important we significantly address previous reason(s).
In all it's appearance, the GCMS file is more like a report submitted by a visa officer to a computerized management system accessible by all visa officers worldwide and most likely will be the first point of call for another visa officer when reviewing a reapplication. Good enough, IRCC has made this 'report' accessible to applicants at a little cost. This should atleast tell us something, they want your reapplication to be an improvement of the previous.
The generic reasons in a refusal letter are vague and doesn't completely guide towards a successful re-application. 9/10 your application will be refused again if you do not pay attention to the submission and concern of the visa officer and the only way to do this is to get your GCMS file.
It is always better to come back stronger and better than to rush a reapplication because one is not patient enough or because we feel the reasons on the letter are summountable. The truth is that the ticked reason(s) is a covering of smaller reasons.
Time and chance always have a way to present things to us in a better way. We should take advantage of it and not allow our emotions or anxiety get a grip of us when trying to take steps towards succeding on something and in this case, one that will give what we are desiring.
Hopefully, we will have more goodnews of approvals. 4 Likes |

Judgepelumi: Hello house Please a quick question Does CIC confirm employment of applicants from their respective place of work? Cos my Boss is an arrogant fellow & would ignore such mail instead. Thanks I am also interested in this question because where I work is a multinational that will victimize and hound you if they ever get such requests. I intend applying without informing my company. My line manager will victimise you till you tender your resignation letter because he will be of the opinion that you have a plan B, so you can decide to mess him up Perhaps, we should be able to get feedback from anybody that applied previously and got access to their respective HRs whether there was any correspondence between CIC and their place of work. |
