bbclue:There is no implication. Your main aim should be that the company satisfactorily justify why they are sponsoring your visit and how it will be beneficial to them. This will be the burden on any company that decides to sponsor your trip. |

Good evening everyone, Quick question, is it possible for no update to be given as to upfront medicals 6 weeks into an application. Not the whole application itself, just nothing as regards the medicals. Radio silence... |

Mikky4canny:Okay. I also think you should include a statement of purpose/intent to just give specifics on how the intended program would add significantly to any further advancement in your career. 2014 up untill 9months ago MAY not totally justify to a VO why you desire a master degree in a different field from your undergraduate study. You barely entered the field and most definitely extensive work experience would be expected to be your consideration since it will be on that basis you would need further knowledge academically to compliment the work experience gotten. So endeavour to give a clear cut reason for going for this program just barely when you started working in the field. Once you can do that, your purpose of visit will be seen as a more precise one to address a need or to supplement for some lapses. I'll advice you discuss more on the program CONTENT, it's knowledge application to your daily job description at your current place of work and why a master would be best for you as against more work experience that will ground you better. manlikegb:If your CGPA is up to 3.2 thereabout, you still stand a chance of getting a masters admission. You just have to research schools and email admissions office for clarification. This one that you don't want to study Biochemistry, i hope you are choosing something related to it to avoid course mismatch and purpose of visit wahala |

Am a graduate with BSc certificate who intend leaving Nigeria to further my education and as well secure a work permit (Canada or Australia my preferred choice). I recently got in touch with this traveling agent, who promised to assist me in my applications and as well securing a student Visa in either Canada or Australia. The problem here is that the agent is demanding a total sum of 2.5m to assist me with my Visa application. Am totally confused at the moment with regards to the authenticity of these agents. Is it advisable for me to make the financial commitment? He's already requesting for my information like TRANSCRIPT to kick start my visa application and necessary documentation. Please help a friend! Nairaland has always been there for me. I need your sincere advice here as am stuck. Thanks... |

Koval12: My 2 cents, don't waste your funds. Just read from part 9 or thereabouts. You'll definitely have everything you need to apply for both schools and your visa. 2.5 mill is almost the amount you need for living and feeding expenses. Biko don't waste money o. 4 Likes |

koval12 READ AND GET INFORMATION! We all did our bit by reading. No one would dedicate their days and nights to helping you from beginning to the end. People that come on this forum come to get extra information after reading. Go and read just like the rest of us. And anything you don't find in the previous threads, you can come and ask! 2 Likes |

Koval12: Bro honestly you'd have to do bulk of the work for yourself, you want to apply to a Canadian University for a 1-2 years gruelling programme, the least you can do is to make sure you get all you need from the opportunity... I can't be expected to do the research on your behalf.... Id advise u start with Google. Just google Canadian universities for masters In your choice course and take it from there..... If you are stuck you can come back to ask questions and I'd be happy to help whenever I can..... But you have to make the first move. All the best 1 Like |

Koval12 don't allow anyone build house and furnish it with your N2.5m all Because they claim they can help you with your application. Trust me when I say, reading through has helped so many. Check different websites. Niaraland and Google should be your only agents! and they won't charge you (well except using up some data) Goodluck! 2 Likes |

Www.universitystudy.ca surf that website to find your school. Type in your proposed course of study and it will bring all schools offering it in Canada for you with their graduate web Koval12: 2 Likes |

Koval12:Applying to study in Canada is easier when you do everything step by step. it becomes confusing and difficult when you try to do everything at once. 2.5M is a lot of money to waste. Here is a quick breakdown first step is looking for schools that offer your proposed program. (try to pick a course related to your undergrad program or work experience). This is me assuming you are going for a grad program. Usually, Universities offer Masters and Colleges offer PGC/PGD. If you finished with a 2.1, you should go for masters. Google should help with this. Research about the schools, read their requirements i.e documents they need from you, check their tuition and make sure it is within your budget, check deadline for receiving application. If you meet their requirements, Apply to the school(s). Get your admission, then you can move on to the next stage. You can ask questions whenever you are stuck, people on here will be willing to help. I'll advice you dedicate some of your time and read this thread. You can jot some of the info down or like the post so you won't end up looking for it again when you need the information. 1 Like |

likeababygirl: @likeababygirl, thanks for your input. My CGPA is actually 2.55. Not up to 3.0 or 3.2 for that matter. Not sure that's got a chance with a University in Canada. Anyone in the house ever got admission to a Uni in Canada with a CGPA below 3.0? Please raise your hand o. Thanks everyone. |

Koval12: The 2:2 sometimes may not matter if your cgpa meets their requirements you may be lucky enough to get what you want. But honestly your cgpa has to be atleast a 3.3 to meet the 3.0/4 Canadian schools require.... Up to you. You can as well mail the programme coordinator of your intended programme and request for an unofficial evaluation, they MAY help. Depends, all in all please do your research well. All d best |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by tysaxmalomo: 9:27pm On Jun 11, 2017 |
Koval12: Hmmmn Use Wes gpa calculator on the Wes website to get a rough idea of what your gpa will be. I doubt if that will be up to 3.0/4.0.... Try and calculate it tho, if it's not up to the minimum requirements, you might have to go for either a pre masters or if it's not available for the course you r aiming for, then you might have to go for a PGD/PGC.... All the best. |
