Dear E-Family, This is to introduce myself to the thread as I start this PR journey. I had to read the thread from page 0 to 306. Took about a week. Time well spent. I have learnt a lot here. Found this thread at the threshold of committing to a masters programme that I would have to go and hustle the fees in OZ. Thanks to you all, Thurnbull would be paying for this after PR. My special thanks and recognition to the founding father, bellongg, and every other person that has sacrificed and contributed to the development of this thread. I felt so happy when it was resolved to modify and continue this thread after the April changes by the Border Department. You guys are saving lives here. God bless you all. Congratulations to all that have gotten the grant. And success to those at one stage or the other. Sincerely MOFE PR (I want PERMANENT RESIDENCE ) 11 Likes |

doyen06: Ok Well, something similar happened to my friend last year, same vetassess. Employment does not correspond and she got negative, what we did was simple. We viewed the anzsco requirements and we realized our packaging was initinitially wrong. We got statement of service from four of her bosses and we let them know how we want it. Depends on relationship with bosses anyways. To cut the story short, reassessment came out positive 1 Like |

Let me first of all give you thumbs up for thinking in this direction, the only thing you don't want to do to yourself is coming to study and just leave just like that. Brother this place is far ooooo and couple with the fact that tuition fees are on the high side. My suggestions is if you can change from MSC petroleum to any course on the skill select, it will be a nice thing to do even if that will make you postpone your entry for next month to a later month or thereabout because the ultimate goal is not the entry, the goal is the change of residence status. The fact is oil market is down everywhere and for you now to take a masters in petroleum is something personally as an Engineer I won't advise, the world is shift from the Oil market bro. No matter the course you take here, as long as you b Naija trained, you will excel that's for sure, so look at your options man don't come in and start saying had I know. jackson2dye4: 1 Like |

jackson2dye4: Please do all you can to get it changed. Its not easy for students paying the bills although they still work and get the bills paid but it wouldn't be good to go through all the pains and not be able to use it for PR purpose. This land is full of opportunity for all although your journey will be faster with PR than student visa and many of the student i have met here does not even know that it is possible to process PR from Naija. The ultimate aim of majority of them is to get PR because things would have been more easier for them. 1 Like |

Thanks Alphadoor, My brother from another mother. I have been advised to write RPL and get an earlier skill met date. This would push me to 65 points as English test is not cooperating (done twice already) Please anyone who has an RPL that has been used successfully please help. Even if it is for another ICT profession I will use it as guidance. Specifically I want to write RPL for 263111 - computer Network and system Engineer. Thanks all cc bolaobby Alphadoor: 1 Like |

Good day Oga Bellong and all my other Ogas and guru in the house. I've been following this thread closely, and been digesting the details comment to comment and page to page. Good job I must say, and thumbs up to all of you for the insight, guidance and suggestions. It's been positive vibes here. Having gone through all the details provided, please I have some questions, clarification and insight based on the details below: Bachelor of Agriculture---2010 NYSC experience---------Human Resources and Occupational Health and Safety----2011/2012 Sales Manager experience since December 2013 till date in two different multinationals---December 2013 Till date (2017). IELTS Score: O.A-7.0, L-7.5, R-6.0, W-6.5, S-8.0. QUESTION: Should I go ahead with skill assessment in Sales Manager or wait till July 1, 2017 when new occupation is updated by the Northern Territory who seems to be the only state I meet the minimum requirement, and offering a nomination on this occupation Using the point calculator, I already have 55 points out of the required 60 points based on my own assessment though. Thank you all, and hoping to get an insight from your pool of experience. |

I don't think a sales manager occupation with agricultural qualification will fly with them. 1 Like |

Hello, I had a similar issue and i graduated from OAU as well, although my 1st assessment was positive while my years were deducted. I believe the problem is with the way your JD was written, you need to apply for reassessment using a more detailed JD which is in line with the ANZCO requirements. People in the house please advise him. doyen06: |

Unless I'm missing something here; the main interest is your Bachelors Degree; So, changing your MSc course may not necessarily have an effect on your assessment and eventual application. EA assessment is based mainly on a bachelors degree which is expected to have been completed with 4yrs or more modules. As an example, I've my first degree in Chemical Engineering and had my masters in a Petroleum Specialty course, but was successfully assessed as a Chemical Engineer, So, the basic information you should be sharing here is what degree do you already have that would account for the required 4+ years of studies as a Masters degree doesn't meet the criteria since it's 2yrs of studies? That, in my opinion, would determine what your assessment outcome would be. For EA, masters degree is only assessed as further learning and also adds to your CPD... For other assessing authorities, your work experience, if any, may make up for your studies, But I doubt if this is the case for EA. With many suggesting you should apply for a change of course, I've become confused if I'm missing something out and so may need to refresh myself on the subject. But I'd reckon your MSc doesn't have that huge impact; say your first degree is in a course that's not on the list and you complete your msc in a course on the list, you still won't get positive assessment outcome from EA. Don't take this too strongly as I may be wrong pending verification. If your case is a bachelors degree that's not on the list, then you may have to consider obtaining an equivalent bachelors... Many do it, but not so recommended considering the cost, time and uncertainties... Good luck! jackson2dye4: |

If you're applying to EA; No, all they require is for you to upload good quality (minimum 300dpi but 600dpi is advised) scanned colour copies of all supporting documents which include your transcript and certs. For other assessing bodies, someone would comment. Pipsbasketings: |
