We have plenty of Oryx........they are much cheaper, between R2000-R5000 depending on which part of the country you hunt! Wouldn't know if Sable and Oryx tast the same since i've never eaten Sable....Oryx is delicious though!!

During the Axumite and early years of Abyssinia(1270-1529 AD), al most all Amharas were orthodox Christian. The Atses(emperors) at that time were very powerful and mostly concerned in converting the people they conquered to Christian. Most Muslim states were conquered and some of them converted to Christian while others remain Muslim.

This Christian dominance came to an end in 1529 AD and in 1531 much of Abyssinia was conquered by Adals. In 1543, the conquered Abyssinia territories were liberated, but because of the destruction of the empire and the change in attitude of the regional lords and people that those powerful emperors aren't invincible anymore, the emperors afterwards mostly fought for their survival than concerning for the religion of the empire. So some of the convert Muslim Amharas and Tigrays stayed Muslim.

In 1632, Atse(emperor) Fasilades found Gondar as a permanent capital. It was a great time for the empire until 1769. But the emperors only stayed in their castles and mostly didn't check the circumstances of the empire. In this time and during Zemene Mesafint(1768-1855), Islam further spread. This is why there are some Amhara and Tigray Muslims now.

I don't think they have been politically oppressed, because most of the top level officials are Atheists and don't favor either for Christians or Muslims. On the middle and lower Gov't officials who are Orthodox Christians, I don't know if the Muslims are oppressed or not.

There is some level of hatred between the Christians and Muslims, but compared to most countries in the world, the relationship between Christians and Muslims is relatively very good. Most of the time they help each other in many things. Some Christians help Muslims when they build mosques and Muslims help Christians when they build Churches. If you go to Wollo(Bete Amhara), you will find harmony between Christians and Muslims. In that zone Christians and Muslims are 50/50. You will find some Muslims naming their children by Amhara name. Some Christians also do the same by naming their children using Muslim name.

If you ever come to Ethiopia, don't leave without visiting Wollo/Wello. It's a very diverse and loving place. It's found in Amhara region.
