CHAPTER SEVEN: NO SAINTS GAME

Gabe head sank deep into the center of the pillow, his face burning red with fury of what he had done at the beach, two souls belong to past of time because of him. He blinked at intervals, keeping the urge to tear at bay. The morning news was televised by a lady clothed in a blue suit, her bob hair falling over her left eye. She presented the news in a strong accent. Images of the dead beach victims were displayed on screen. At the sight of this, he leaped out of bed, reaching for the remote control placed on the occasional table.

He gave the switch button a press, then the television went blank. The night has been hard on him, thought of his first killing pressed on his mind. He beseeched for forgiveness nightlong, but the question remains, can he forgive himself? I had little choice he thought, kill or the worst, which he had no idea what it might be. I'll keep off from he demon he resolved, a bout of distance should do.

**********

Dawn broke in like a burglar stealing away its reign from the night. The neighborhood was alive, people massing through over the pavement. The apartment glowed from the reflection of the bright blue sky coming through the blind.

Blood seeped through her bandaged left shoulder, she had bound her hair into a bun with an alice band making her look years younger. A white tight-fitting camisole was worn over her dainty body. Standing before the bathroom mirror, her wounded shoulder reflected in the mirror. She winced as pain coursed through her arm. The wound was a knife stab resulting from a fight she has stopped. Two hoodlums had picked up a fight on the street, both boxing hard on each other. One of the weird punks drew out a flick knife thrusting it towards his adversary, she had intervened right on time taking the damage. Seeing the damage done, Both thugs to their heels each going separate ways. Pat had stitched her up, placing a bandage on the wound.

"You're badly hurt." Gabe said. He stood behind her, clothed in a white vest over a white Knickerbockers. He had walked in on her stealthily.

Angel Gabe she thought staring at his reflected image on the mirror. She turned away from the mirror, resting her weight in her arms placed on the vanity table."Not as bad as it seems." She gave him a warm glowing smile.

"That's dampen with blood, you should change it now." He clutched her hand, and they both exited the bathroom.

He patched the wound with a new bandage, pressing it in place with tender touches."We're done fixing you." He took a knee off the bed.

"Thank you." She offered with a pleasing smile. She climbed on the bed in a kneel, pecking him on his forehead.

He went wild in an instant, losing control of his emotions. Her cinnamon lips magnetized him, in a blink, he pressed his lips on hers.

Emotion coursed through her body, making her quivered at the touch of his lips. She blinked twice and repelled in a flash. He stared at her with a blank expression on his face. His emotion brimmed eyes, glowing bright as ember.

"I think I love you Michelle." He whispered, bending his head and kissing her souly.

Their mood went from cold to hot as they kissed hungrily, panting in the process. He pulled her close running his hands over her tender skin. They were devoured by love, as they both sucked hard at each others lips. She clutched him by the nape of his neck, pulling him to her. Both lost in the bouncy moment, he pulled off her camisole and pushed her to the bed. Her pink bra molds her delicate fair breast. In a blink he tossed his vest on the floor, staring squarely into her almond brown eyes. He bent over attempting to undo her bra, but she gripped at his hand.

"No Gabe, let's not get there now." She breathed, her breathing steadying.

Gabe rolled on his side panting, he fixed his gaze on her."You're damn beautiful Michelle." He said between breaths."You took my breath away the very day I caught sight of you." He stroked her hair which fell on her shoulders.

"You too, you're right handsome." She whispered."I think I love you too Gabe." She pressed her lips softly on his.

The atmosphere of the room returned to normal as they both laid down on the bed. Images of the last few minutes hung on their minds.

************

Gabe was alone in the apartment, he was standing before the venetian blind. His face painted with a self-satisfied look. This morning, Michelle had kissed him in a French manner before darting out of the building. I found Michelle, I found love he thought, Jake was right behind his mind. He will never see the demon again he had resolved, Jake now belongs to his past, he must focus on the present which was Michelle, an angel he loved with his all.

He had footsteps on the porch, minutes later a rapped at the door startled him. Gabe heads for the door in a slow stride, taking his dear precious time before sliding the door open. He was surprised at the sight of who stood before him. A young looking man clothed in a red hooded body warmer and a black pants, his squint-eyes glows with a pleasing smile sprawl on his face. The demon has sure return.

"Hey Gabe, long time. Will you let me in?" He asked with a smirk upon his face.

Gabe pondered on the question a little, before reaching a conclusion."No, we talk outside." He slammed the door shut, looking up at him with a glower.

They stood in silence by the doorstep for what seems a decade. Jake broke the silence with a sigh.

"You have every reason to be mad at me man, and much as I have every reason to thank you." He dabbed at his right shoulder, winking at him.

"I owe you one Jake, now I have paid, why come after me again?" He asked, there was a distinct edge to his voice.

"We both need each other Gabe." He maundered.

"No, I don't fucking need you Jake." He exploded, his face lit with rage.

"Those guys you took out, their friends will come after you." He gulped."You have a chance to live beside me."

"Screw you Jake, you caused this." He gulped back his fears, forcing a scowl.

"I'll have your back now Gabe." He lighted a cigar, puffing at it."Don't worry a bit." He gave him a reassuring smile.

"Jake please leave now, I beg of you." He uttered through clenched teeth.

"I don't leave on my own Gabe, just like you. Am a friend, a brother, your family from this moment on."

"I don't need you demon!" He blurted, balling his hand into a fist.

"Now the demon is a friend Gabe, to live you must choose the demon." He had a puffs at the cigar."Am going on a business enterprise tomorrow, mind coming?"

Gabe stormed into the apartment, banging the door shut behind him. He leaned his back on the door, pummeling at it. His cheeks puffed up as rage raced through him.

Jake smiled evilly as he turned on his heels, a light puff of smoke emitted from his nose. He squashed the cigar with his boot, and walked into the street.

********

There comes a time in life to make tough decisions. A wrong, you have dire price to pay. Gabe has made a tough decision this early morning. His sanctum mind was about to go wild, he'll play along with Jake, besides to live, he had no choice. He dashed into the street, heading for hell threshold.

A green sedan skimmed over the asphalt of Meja suburban highway, beside the driver sat a man, he has a big jaw, crooked ears and a burnt lips. Magic downed a bottle of beer in a single gulp, mopping the foam in his lips with the back of his palm.

At the rear seat sat Jake, beside him was Gabe sucking at his upper teeth. He had sat in silence since the ride begun, glancing through the wound down window. He seems to be enjoying the view of the suburbs. Several young folks played big ball game in an open court, blocks of apartment buildings lined across the road. Cyclists, skateboarders, inline skaters enjoying the tick of time.

"Our target is a warehouse bud." Jake wrinkled his nose."To secure the package we'll have hell to pay."

"Thanks for the Gen." He replied dryly. The urge to live flooded his mind, an object in his pants pocket made an obvious bulge. He felt the Baretta 96 brigadier in his pocket. A crease formed on his forehead.'I'll live, I must live' he
resoluted.

Scar grinded the car to a halt, in an instant, they drew out their weapons and alighted from the sedan.

"Who're those fellas?" Asked a round shouldered man in a hoarse voice.

"Save that for the next world." Magic shot at the man twice, the sound crackled in Gabe's ear.

The gunshots has alarmed men inside the warehouse. They were all armed as they stood upon their guards. Their assailants stormed in, volleying bullets at all angles. In a game of living and dying, the wise only tell the tales. Gabe has chosen to be wise at the moment. He hid himself behind cover, cartoned goods were stockpiled six feet tall throughout the warehouse. A forklift was also stationed at the center of the hall. His years flashes before him, a tranquil world gone violent in a blink. Now, he will live a killer nevermore a sinner.

Bullets clattered at obstacles, fleshes, and bones. Gabe turned his right squeezing hard at the trigger. A black haired man stood frozen few meters away, blood trickled down his temple. He fell on his rump with a thudding sound.

"Good shot Gabe." Jake whispered from across him. He had hid himself behind stacked boxes."On me guys, I already had enough." He smiled wryly, dashing out of cover.

Oh, he's going to get himself killed Gabe feared. He gripped firmly at the trigger, firing at the adversaries. He gulped, seeing the damage he had done with the mightful machine.

Jake had retrieved the package, it was a red briefcase. He darted across the hall, firing behind his back."Time to go guys." He shouted on top of his lung. Gabe dashed out of the warehouse, and the others followed suite.

A bullet lodged into Magic right ankle."Oh, Bleep! I've been shot." He blurted."Help me guys."

"I w-ill take them o-ut." Gabe spluttered. He gave a squeeze at the trigger thrice. Three oncoming armed men spilled off their feet's.

"C'mon Magic." Scar mumbled. Magic groaned as Scar lifted him onto his shoulder.

"Am too hard to die guys." He said gruffly, limping as they make towards the car. Scar eased him into the rear backseat, slamming the portal shut.

Gabe was sitting behind the wheel, he looks real agitated. Perspiration formed on his brow. The car engine kicked alive with a roar.

"We'll need speed Gabe, they 're giving a chase. You sure can do this?" Jake asked with a skeptic look on his face.

"Seatbelt." Gave replied curtly. He fired the car, zipping into the highway at a lightning speed. He mopped his face with the sleeve of his shirt.

Jake fished into his pocket, scrabbling for a lighter. He already held a cigar on his lips. Just two flicks, then the cigar was ignited. He took a long deep puff at it with his eyes locked on the rear mirror. Their friends were closing in on them at a great pace.

"Gabe is a damn kickass Jake." Scar said. He was not the talking type, so when he had spoken it amazed Gabe.

"That was a brilliant one from him I guess." Jake replied dryly. A smile played at the corner of his mouth. He was right always, Gabe was what he thought of him. Bullets thudded into the car chassis, at the sound he was alarmed."Get down!"

They squated on the floorboard, more pellets made contact with the car. Gabe swerved among the chain of traffic, easing his way from side to side. The swerving seemed to make magic stomach churned.

Magic puffed a breath, gulping twice in a second."Turn right." He said in a low hushed voice."That should be an easy route."

Gabe stared at Jake with a quizzical look. He knew he needed an answer straightaway."Magic was raised and bred here Gabe, he knew every damn street here as his palm."

The road at the route was narrow and also windy, Gabe drifted along the curves at interval. Traffic there was sparse, both cars hitting the road at high-speed. Their chasers never seems to give up, they showered bullets at the sedan, that now looks like a perforated paper.

"Time to fight back guys." Jake said with an edge to his voice. He blew on his gun, firing back at the grey colored people carrier through the shattered rear window. Magic sat on the floorboard, grumbling something to himself. His lunula were reddened with his own blood.

"Jake, grab the wheel." Gabe said. Jake gazed at him with his eyebrow arched."Just do it." He shrieked. Jake complied, steering the wheel. Gabe trained his Baretta at the minivan's tank, firing twice, the car was ignited.

"Oh my God, he set them afire." Scar gasped. He gaped in bewilderment. Magic heaved himself onto the seat, sitting in stunned silence.

Jake let out a giggle, a puff of air stroke his face."You're sweet Gabe." He offered.

Gabe pouted and grabbed at the wheel."When this is over, you owe me one." His voice a hushed whisper.

"Whatever Gabe, enemies crushed guys." He whooped, his voice echoing through the sky.

CHAPTER EIGHT: MADE MEN MEET LAURIE

Gabe had never experienced night-time in Meja. The vibrant night-life was astounding especially at his current location. Club Kruz was buzzing, noise stemming from every corners. Odd filtered lights litted the hall, and also spotlights, their glows falling on a spot where strippers strip- teased the audience. Large thick smoke filled the air, smell of whiskeys vodkas and couple of smells reeked through the roomy hall. Gabe made it here tonight, because Michelle was away. She had had a night shift at work. Jake sat crossed ankle over the stool, his face gloomy.

He shifted his weight and sat bolt upright, a light smoke emitted from the cigar held between his fingers."I have bad news Gabe." He whispered between breaths.

"What news?" Gabe asked, his face lit with curiosity.

Jake answered with a sigh."About your brother."

At the word 'Brother', Gabe stomach churned, every muscles in him stiffened. Jake owed him one, so he took his chance. One good about the demon was, he had long arms, satellites ears, even a God's eye. Gabe relayed his little big secret, asking Jake to find his brother. Dead or alive - he seems unready for the news as chills grabbed at his spine.

Jake crumpled the cigar between his fingers, humor drained off his face."Benjy is dead, he died a week or more ago."

Gabe bravely blinked back tears, his limbs went numb and his face paled.

"I revered him so much Gabe, he died bravely, taking his revenge at Mosa. They both died in a churchyard." He stroked his shoulder.

Gabe swallowed hard, with the urge to cry rapping at his mind threshold.

"You gotta live because of him, he died for you. Psyche up man, fun is about you." He smiled softly at him.

A freckled face fair complexioned lady walked towards their spot, she was clothed in a shining black mini gown. Gabe squinted at her as she walked with a gentle elegant stride. Her chubby cheeks puffed up a bit, and also glowing bright was her ember brown eyes which was fixated on him. She stopped beside Jake, ruffling his hair a little.

"I got a little surprise Gabe, meet Salomé, Salomé this is Gabe." She smiled widely at him, taking in every bit of him."I'm done babysitting, I have got some fun to catch." He eased himself off the bar stool, leaving them behind.

"Evening handsome." Salomé beamed, walking towards him with few strides.

"Evening." He replied, assessing the beauty before him. Her wavy long hair fell over shoulder, she was endowed with a striking curry figure.

"Mind some good time?" She inquired, tucking her hair behind her round ear.

Good time? That should do for now he thought. He needed to be lost in something at the moment."Why not?" He asked drily. He took her soft tender hand as she led him to fun haven.

The sky glow of the city shone beautifully through the screen, she had unclothed herself leaving only her black bustier on her ample breasts. Gabe slithered his hand over it, as she climbed on top of him. Desire burned through her ember brown eyes. She bent her head, pressing her lips on his, then their mood pepped up. He darted his hand across her body, pressing, smooching, caressing everywhere. With a flick of his hand, her bra went off. He squeezed hard on her tit, making her moan at his touch. She unclothed him with hasty hands, writhing with emotion.

"Had a nice time right?" Jake asked, wrinkling his nose.

"Quite a bit I guess." His face wrinkled with a grin. The pleasure had dispelled the pain in him for the moment. He knew it won't last for long."Shall we now?"

A devilish grin played on Jake's lips."Yeah sure, we've got a big friend of mine to visit tomorrow."

********

"The name is Laurie." Gabe took in his hand, a muscled hand with long thick fingers. Lawrence was clad in a white suit, his black loafer glinting like a sunstroke pearl. He has a round shoulder and was hefty in arms and legs, likewise a flattened nose and a well aligned rounded eyes."C'mon sit down guys." He offered, smiling widely enough to show his upper artificial teeth.

Jake and Gabe sat on a deck chair from across Lawrence. Everything in his exotic villa looks elegantly vogue. Two exotic sports car were parked at the front lawn as they make their way in. Flowers, trees gave the villa an Olympian beauty. Two bosomy ladies in bikini sauntered sultrily on the patio, diving from the board into th e pool.

Lawrence reposed on the lounger, gazing at the crystal clear blue sky, his arms folded on his chest."People can really be funny these days, masters are now outshined by apprentice. Do you know what happen to those who outshine the masters?" He asked, manipulating his broad voice into a thinned hushed voice.

Gave didn't give a hang about the conversation, he was busy staring at the ladies swimming in a crawl.

"They got screwed." Jake answered.

"Good, there is this guy who have what's mine, he has socked me real hard on the face twice, but this time, am not letting it slide." He said, wrinkling his nose.

Jake asked gruffly "What're you planning to do with him?"

Lawrence exhaled and sat bolt upright."I want him screwed, I want my respect restored."

The ladies climbed out of the pool, their hair dripping wet. They closed in on them in short paces. They grinned narrowly at Gabe, squatting beside Lawrence. Their neatly tender hands massaged his feet.

"My crew will help this time." Lawrence offered.

"We'll be at the ready Laurie." Jake replied, smiling wryly.

Sunlight gleamed on the surface of the bluish pool reflecting the white regal semi-detached house.

She bolstered herself beside a worktop, a tumbler brimmed with milk held in her hand. Her black eyes looked void, but within those eyes lurks a desire glowing as fire. Sweet, so pretty sweet she thought in her subconscious, I just can't get my mind off you pretty face. Just a good taste of you should help clear my foggy mind. She mopped her palm on her creamy lips. A breakfast bar was stationed at the center of the kitchen, beside it were stools. At the far side was situated a toaster, dishwasher and a microwave. On the draining board was also a coffee maker with a knife block.I'll get you pretty face, soon I'll have a taste of you, then you'll be mine she resoluted in herself. She downed the remaining content in her tumbler.

Sinphire street was full to bursting, people going about their lives. Strip mall were on the either sides of the high-street. The brilliant blue sky, so as the bright light of sinphire amazes Gabe. Their task here was obvious, they're so bring the 'Cynca' to their knees. He licked his lips in anticipation.

Two four-wheeler rides were halted beside a kerb, fiendish looking men alighted, all armed. Some with handguns, while others wielded semi automatic guns. Their target was a fortress of the Cynca.

They stormed into their target, frequent bursts of gun fire echoed the street. Gabe was at the front pulling hard at the cyncas. Within a tick of clock, bodies laid in pool of blood. He marched over the red fluid, volleying bullets at opponents. A stout round faced man with a shaved head fired his shotgun rifle at him. He rolled out of the spot, shortly before the shot made impact. The bullet thudded into a wall behind the corner.

Gabe wrapped his hand on the trigger, squeezing once at it. The man fell on his side, blood dripped from his chest.

Jake was on his heels clutching his glock18 towards his face. His touch startled Gabe, he sighed with relief knowing Jake was alive.

"You okay Gabe?" He asked in a hushed whisper. Gabe nodded, shuddering with fear.

They held Mark, the cynca's gang leader at gunpoint. He was sitting on a red armchair. The puffy faced man sat with composure, but his brown eyes were alarmed. Death doesn't seem to scare him as he stared widely at the gun inches from his face.

"Laurie sends his greetings." Jake said sneeringly.

"This is really snippy from him, I'll love to see him myself." Mark bit his lips nervously."He should show some respect at least."

"Respect? You'll have that paid by your bier." Replied the squat muscular man beside Jake. He was the only survivor with Jake and Gabe.

"No one outshines the master and live to tell of it dude." Jake gave the trigger a squeeze. Mark fell on his chest, blood gushing from his temple.

"I guess we're done teaching respect." Jake said, pulling a wry face.

CHAPTER NINE: THREE MUST GO

A rapped at the door awoke him, he clambered off bed blinking back the sleep in his eyes. He shook his head, tearing sleep web about him. Gabe slid the door open. To his utmost surprise, before him stood an angel, in a red minigown, her rosy lips was spread lightly.

"Hi Gabe." She said with a smile, her delicate legs were stemmed in a white wedge shoes.

"Hey, come on in." Gabe replied, raising an eyebrow. She walked in with a feline gait, dropping her red hand bag on the sofa."But, Michelle didn't tell m-e y-ou are coming." He spluttered.

"Surprisal visit Gabe." She sat crossed leg , twitching her lips.

"What can I offer you?" He inquired with a soft smile on his lips.

"Not what you can, but what I can Gabe." She fished into her handbag, bringing out a can Gatorade drink."Here pretty face." She tossed the Gatorade at him.

Gabe muttered."Thank you." And popped open the lid with the ring pull. He walked over to the bed and sat on it."I was sleeping before."

"Oh, am sorry I woke you, am quite bad at timing."

"You're good, sometimes you need an angel to shake you off your sleep." He chugged at the drink, squeezing on the can.

"Really?" She asked with an odd grin. Her mind went in a whirl, Now you're mine she thought.

"Yeah." He replied a belch. His eyes twitched around their sockets. The urge to sleep devoured him, then he slumped headfirst on the bed.

Pat scrambled to the bedside, she tore her clothes off, planting a kiss on his lips. Moments later, she was on top of him, he r blue lingerie covering her boobs and groin. Desire burned through her, steaming her blood. Tender touches, hungry kisses, then she lost it.

Gabe woke with an erect, his hand gingerly cupped over her titty. He flinched seeing Pat lying nude beside him with a grin on her face. Noticing his erection, he pulled the duvet draped over his well formed chest. His face turned pale, No, never! He thought. I'll never make love with her.

"Hey pretty face. You're damn heavenly sweet." She ran her hand over his groin, which made him quake.

"What have you done Pat?" He asked with a wrinkled nose.

"I screwed you Gabe." Her voice a whisper."I couldn't help myself Gabe, I want you so bad." She mumbled against his ear.

"How could you? You drugged me..." Her lips shut him midsentence. She took in his lips, sucking, biting at every corners.

"I want more of you now." She said in a muffled tone.

He gave in to her, pressing her plump bulbous breast, rolling over her to take up position. She moaned under him at the insertion of his member.

*************

Lawrence poured himself a whiskey from a whiskey jug, across him seated Gabe and Jake."Help yourself to a whiskey guys." He passed the whiskey jug to Jake. Who picked a stein, pouring himself the whiskey."Gabe?" Laurie asked.

Gabe Answered with a pursed lips."I don't do that Laurie."

"Oh, Gabe here is not a wino Laurie." Jake said with a smirk.

"Good, you must like something else then." He sat beside them and lighted a tobacco."Perhaps wenches." He offered dryly.

The bar was filled with exotic drinks, Mainly intoxicants. A lava lamp was placed on the wooden shelf which glowed in the dimly litted room. Laurie took a drag at the tobacco, expelling a light smoke which billowed above his receding hairline.

"I've got a friend with political aspiration." Laurie said gruffly.

"Politics, I've got a big a big hate for that game." Gabe replied with a wrinkled nose.

Lawrence continued."He has gotten a big problem these days, which is pressing hard at his mind." He tilted his head, sipping at the whiskey."Which I will love to solve for him."

Jake wrinkled his forehead."How do we solve his problem?" He asked bluntly.

"I found a way, three must go this time boys." Laurie replied sneeringly.

Outside the villa, the yellow sun glinted the windows. Both men stood shoulder to shoulder. Gave was few inches taller than Jake, a new job is at hand. Three kingpins of Meja must go.

It was a steamy clear day on a Meja early hours of dawn. Gabe was dripping wet with perspiration. Standing motionless, regaining his wind back. He had done a hundred press-ups, while Michelle was away on her aerobics. A big day laid before him, their first target will be at the golf course in town by noon. He will be meeting Jake at their rendezvous in few hours time. Breaking away from his reverie, he scuffled to the bathroom.

Their rendezvous was the rooftop of a twenty-one storey skyscraper building. A fifty meters tall mast was rigged at the center of the rooftop. They had taken position, Jake was squinting through the scope of a cheytacm200 sniper stand against the wall. He adjusted the magnifier, shifting his weight a bit.

"You wanna try this?" He asked as sweat poured off his brow.

Gabe answered grinning slightly."I would love to."

"You can do this bud." Jake assured drily. Gabe eased himself into a lying position, squinting through the telescopic sight. A young caddie, with a red baseball cap came into his range of vision.

"What's the target like?" He asked gruffly.

"A stout potbellied man, he's dressed in a red jersey over a white sweatpants."

Gabe adjusted the lens slightly in a precise manner. His first time handling a precision rifle. Their target was three hundred yards away. Gabe spotted him, Marco carried himself in a confidential aura, clutching the golf club. He was huddled between his aides.

Gabe drew a deep breath, squeezing the trigger once. The bullet traveled at light speed, smashing into Marco's forehead. He stood rooted on the spot, then spilled on the fairway.

"I got him Jake." Gabe mumbled.

"Good job Gabe, c'mon! Let's get outta here." Jake replied, smiling wryly.

With hasty hand, Jake disassembled the sniper. They made a hasty exit from the rooftop.

Dusk stretched out through the blind, the bedside lamp glowed in the gloomy room. Michelle sat on the bed, her back to Gabe. She stared blankly into the darkness, sniffing at intervals.

"Something wrong?" Gabe asked, he turned on his side, sitting bolt upright. His hand placed on her shoulder sent thrills down her spine. She turned, staring into his eyes.

"Am afraid of everything here in this city Gabe." She said in a sadden voice. He pulled her to him, the clung together for what seems like years in stunned silence. Her sniffing tone muffled by his shoulder.

"Why're you that scared Michelle?" He asked in a concerned tone.

"Killings, bloods, I hate them all Gabe." She answered in a hushed whisper. His heart reeled at the mention of those words. Killing, blood, has become a part of him, tattooed on his once sanctum heart.

He attempt to firm words, but his mind was blank making it hard to figure out one. His gentle stroking of her back seems to soothe, dispelling her nervousness."All will be good, you must go to bed now." He maundered against her ear.

She eased herself from him smiling her thanks, then she dropped off to sleep.

*******

A black saloon car was parked beside the rotunda cathedral church. Seraphic reliefs jutted out of the cathedral stoned wall, ab embossed cruciform protruded on the chapel's dome. A sculptured Madonna was situated at the far left corner of the cathedral entryway. The man behind the wheel of the saloon car tapped his fingers impatiently at the dashboard. He pulled the bill of the blue baseball cap slightly over his face.

Few minutes ago, two guys had dragged a thinnish snub-nosed man out of the saloon car. They gagged him and shut him inside the trunk. The handsome face man wore a blue shirt, a black three-quarter cargo pants fell loosely on his laps. His target was inside the chapel, a man whose end ticks.

The cathedral oaky door opened with a squeak. A figure emerged from the chapel. A tall round shouldered man with a bald head, stubbled chin and ovoid blue eyes climbed down the stairs. He looked a man in his early sixties, with few long strides he eased himself into the backseat.

"I'm heading home straight." Said the man huskily.

"Alright sir" was the driver's response. He glared at the wrinkled face man through the rear-view mirror. The saloon sputtered alive as it pulled into the quiet cathedral street.

Sun was glaring down on the active Molly avenue, the ride had been a quite one, except for the incessant grumbling by the aged man seated at the backseat. Gabe swerved the saloon right, with the engine whirring loudly.

"Why take this route?" The man asked bluntly.

"The street ahead is always snarled-up sir." Gabe offered politely. He accelerated the car, zipping past the residential district.

Gabe grinded the car to a halt on a rail line, pressing at the central lock. He could see the man wrinkled forehead through the rear-view mirror.

"Why do you stop the car?" The man blurted.

"Am sorry, this is the dead end Landen."

"A-re y-ou n-ut or something?" Landen sputtered. He attempt to open the door, but his effort proved futile.

"Enjoy your ride to hell Landen." Gabe removed the car key from the ignition and exited the car.

He smirked at the man through the window as he locked up the driver's portal. A black Audi pulled over few yards away. An odd looking guy in a red sweatshirt sat behind the wheel. He flashed a grin at Gabe.

"Good job bud, time to get outta here." Gabe walked in a fast pace towards the Audi and hopped in."One more to go, then we're done." Jake revved the car and sped off.

From across his left, a passenger train came into view rumbling in the distance. Landen sat rooted on the spot, his blood frozen with the fear of what lies before him. Every muscles in him twitched, with perspiration pouring off his face. He felt his soaked pants, realizing he had peed. A soft smile played on his lips, he wondered how he had found humor at this oddly moment.

Landen shrieked, his voice went dull as the train crushed the saloon, crumpling it as a chewed gum.

A black Audi pulled over opposite a white bungalow, the street was quiet, only the chirping of birds perched on trees liven the dull street. The building was a retreat of their last target. Gabe wondered what he's up to at the moment. Sleeping, drinking, thinking or possibly in bed with a lady. The porch lights were on, their white glow reflecting on the vine that erected on the trellis.

They climbed out of the car, standing under the starry night. The crescent moon was obscured by the clouds. A surprisal package was placed at the backseat of the Audi. Their feet made no sound as they walked stealthily towards the building.

Gloom stretched through the ample room, Jake eyes gleamed in the darkness. He made his way cautiously to the bedside. Two figures laid under the duvet.

"Wakey wakey Toby." Jake said with softness glued to his tone.

The two figures aroused gropingly. A voice had woken them, but the darkness hid the man with the voice. Gabe flicked on the light, both figures twitched at the sight of the men before them. The brunette naked lady shuddered, so also her consort who was dripping wet with perspiration.

"W-who are y-you?" Toby stuttered.

"Your flight host" Jake answered.

"Flight host?" Toby asked puzzlingly.

"You have a flight to catch Toby, don't make us wait for long." Jake brought out a ranging bull.

"I'll run while I can, if I was you," Gabe offered drily to the lady. At his words, the lady picked up her clothes and scampered out of the room.

"Now, time to meet your flight." Jake said.

A black casket was placed beside the Audi, its surface glimmered at the reflection of the stars. A tawny pointed nose man in a white boxershorts stood before it.

"Help yourself to your luck." Gabe said. Toby opened the casket, shaking on his feet.

"Your flight is TO89 Toby." Jake said with a wry face. He pointed the gun at the man's temple, at the squeeze of the trigger. Toby tumbled into the casket, blood cascaded down his temple.

They placed the casket at the backseat, heading for a place to lay the body at rest.

The casket was lowered into a dugout, with both men leveling it. Jake placed a wreath by the grave, crossing his chest.

"I guess That's a better way to die." Gabe said sarcastically.

"May your flight reach its final destination Toby." They both laughed at the remark, their laughter echoing through the still night.

CHAPTER TEN: VENDETTA 1

Michelle stood before Gabe, who sat on the chaise-lounge. A cup was held in her left hand. This evening she looked a bit older than her age, her face was lined with worry. The orange sun ray filtering through the blind reflected on her face. She was dressed in a red gown, her layered hair had been trimmed neatly earlier in the day.

"There has been sporadic killings in the city recently." She said, stirring the coffee. "My guess is there is probably a blood feud between the mobs." Fear was laced to her voice.

"So what're the police plotting?' He asked bluntly.

"Nothing for now Gabe." She sat beside him. Lately they've both been suppressing their feelings. They barely looked each others eyes. Gabe agreed she needed to, besides he doesn't really want to hurt her pride.

He quenched the silence just in time."Since it's the whole of Xin city, the police must act."

"You don't seem to get it Gabe, when it comes to blood feud among the mob. We police have little to do." She sipped at the coffee.

"Oh good, then you have little to worry about Michelle." He replied curtly, scuffing to bed.

The day had been benighted, the source of light coming from the orange glow of the bedside lamp. Sleepy Michelle climbed on the bed, she stared at Gabe almond face. He had drifted off to sleep after their little conversation.

She thought him to be a sound sleeper which made her chortled a bit. Her delicate hand patted his face, brushing lightly on his lips. Touching his lips, a mite of sensation rippled her blood. She pressed her lips on his mildly, flicking off the table lamp.

"I love you Gabe." She said in a hushed tone. Then rolled on her side, shutting her eyes.

Gabe mouth twitched in a soft smile."I love you too." He grumbled.

**********

The murky study wad litted by a crimson glows, sturdy oaky shelves were affixed on the rectangular wall of the room. A brown ceiling fan revolved slowly above. Lawrence sat on a black swivel chair from across Jake and Gabe. His hands were placed upon the dark wooden desk before him.

His husky voice echoed through the study room."Power and politics are two things, ying and yang. To maintain power, you play politics. To maintain politics, you need power."

"What're you driving at Laurie?" Jake asked, wrinkling his forehead.

Lawrence continued."Have just arrived Jake, no more driving." He replied humorously. He eased himself to his feet, exhaling deeply."The current vendetta among the strongest mob in the city: Yellow shatto and Sissolo, I want to get involved."

"B-ut h-ow Laurie?" Gabe spluttered.

"The shattos has little to offer me, and that's where the politics comes in." Lawrence walked behind them, wrapping his arms in their shoulders."With the Sissolos I have a chance, I'll become Mazembe's right hand."

"So what's our stand on the war?" Jake inquired.

"We shall see Mazembe boys." Laurie replied, smiling softly.

*********

Gabe was behind the wheel of the blue convertible, Jake sat silently on the death seat gazing in wonderment at the hot chicks by the roadside.

Thick blackened smoke expelled from the backseat. Lawrence seems to be relishing his tobacco sitting with composure, perched on the leathered seat like a king. Truly he was one, or sooner he will. After playing Mazembe's ally, he will have wealth flooding into his life. Then he can probably have his chance to rule Xin city. With the aid of Jake and Gabe, he sure can move the world he thought.

The blue convertible was halted beside a stoned wall, built about a white stately mansion. A greenish lawn stretched before the building, from inside the car the portico was visible. Mazembe's mansion was indeed a grandeur.

"Let's see the big man now boys." Lawrence said in a soft tone.
Re: Enter The Mob by Epluribusunom(m): 12:18am On Jun 26, 2017
"Welcome my friends, join me and dine." Mazembe offered, sounding shrilly.

"How're you father?" Lawrence inquired politely. He walked to the short plump man, kissing his ring finger. Mazembe sat at the far side, he looked a man in his early seventies with thick grey dreadlocks falling on his straight shoulders. His dark eyes seemed to wear with years, so his wrinkling face.

The dining room was roomy, yellow glows from the chandelier gave the room an air of elegancy. Dark polished dining room suite were placed at the center of the room with special dishes ranged atop the long dining table.

Jake and Gabe sat beside each other, savouring the meal slowly. Across the sat a young lady, fairly skinned with darksome eyes of Mazembe. She stole a glance at Gabe sporadically as the moment pass.

Gabe caught her glance, steadying his gaze on her. Her black long curly hair was combed straight back, a pointy nose, thin curved lips, all attestant to her beauty. They enjoyed the meal in quiesce.

A tradition pioneered by Mazembe himself, the silence was brought to an end as a tall muscular man in an overall marched into the room, his booted feet thudding against the ceramic tiles.

"What this time Sab?" Mazembe grunted. He hates to be interrupted while eating. The man murmured something into his ear.

"Privacy? No privacy Sab, they're families. They're all Sissolos."

Sab cleared his throat, blurting out the words."Shattos took a hit on madcat."

"Oh my good lord, madcat is dead? Make arrangements, he must be buried in the family yard."

"Okay Don." Sab marched out of the room. The oaky door squeaked as he shut it.

"Ten gone already." Mazembe said, sighing woefully."It seems I've gone real cool these days."

"I came for that Mazembe, I have come to pledge my loyal." Lawrence said hoarsely.

"You've always been loyal to the family Laurie." Mazembe replied.

"Do you have a plan yet?" Laurie inquired.

"I want the shattos crushed under my feet, Brando will bow before me." Mazembe stood to his feet."I'll leave him with no chance, but to surrender." He sounded surly.

The young lady stood with a feline grace, storming out of the room. Her long yellow lace gown trailed along the brown tiles. The door shut gently behind her.

"My silence will work the magic Laurie" Mazembe said with a smirk.

"We'll need to take out the shattos linchpins Mazembe." Laurie offered."My boys here will play the role."

Mazembe chuckled, walking in slow strides towards the window at the far wall in the room. He opened the window, cool fresh air stroked his face, and he turned towards them.

"Last time I open this window, we were at war with the Robos. We triumphed over them, but I lost many I loved. It's been years now, ten my guess." Oldness crept into his voice.

"Now I see you're ready for war Mazembe." Laurie said laconically.

Mazembe replied briskly."Let the war drum sound."

Dusk was closing in as they make their way out of the heavenly mansion. It has a serene atmosphere, trees, shrubs, plants were about the greenish acres. Mikem sauntered from across them, her strikingly pretty look took Gabe's breath away. She was now clothed in a loose top, a red short skirt fit tightly on her waist revealing her plumpy legs. Gabe glimpsed at her and saw the corner of her mouth slightly curved in a smile.

"Hi Mikem, you're looking real good, just as always." Laurie remarked.

"You too Laurie, you look dazzling." She replied with a grin.

Jake wore a smile, appreciating her in wonderment. This is beauty he thought, she was an epitome of a master wondrous work.

"See you some other time Mikem." Laurie said.

"Thank you Laurie, bye." She replied in a hypnotic tone. Mikem walked past Laurie, sliding a slip in Gabe's hand. He quickly hid it in his pocket warily.
