Many are concentrated in the Konso special woreda.They show significant Afro-Asiatic affinities. They also shared some ties with neighboring Nilo-Saharan and Bantu speakers in the Great Lakes region due to considerable genetic exchanges with these communities over the past 5000 or so years. According to the 2007 Ethiopian national census, the Konso numbered 250,430 individuals. practice a traditional religion centered on the worship of Waaq/Wakh.[8] In the related Oromo culture, Waaq denotes the god of the early faith believed to have been adhered to by Cushitic groups. Their culture is closely related with the Oromos. Konso society is largely agricultural and involves the irrigation and terracing of mountain slopes. Polygyny is an accepted practice among the Konso. • Murle: are a Nilotic ethnic group inhabiting the Pibor County and Boma area in Jonglei State, South Sudan, as well as parts of southwestern Ethiopia. They speak the Murle language, which is part of the Surmic branch of the Nilo-Saharan family. The language cluster includes some adjoining groups in Sudan, as well as some non-contiguous Nilotic populations in southwestern Ethiopia. They in most cases practice a blend of animism and Christianity. They are feared by neighboring tribes as having magical powers and therefore they are often blamed for outbreak of diseases, theft and arson. Them and other neighboring tribes have been affected by South Sudan civil war. Some of them and other neighboring tribes had committed atrocities against each other.

Dhar Tchitt is in Southern Mauritania. The people who built it were the Soninke people of the Mande people group. The city was abandoned and it fell into ruins.

I don't know hey? Like Jayceon said he talked about his experience in Zambia in one of the shows but don't know if he did a show there or was just there for pleasure. But one thing I've seen about SA artists , they tend to make a name from themselves in south Africa and get booked a lot in Europe and and America, for instance look at our old and new artists . The likes of Miriam makeba , lucky Dude, black mambazo, Jonny Clegg, Charlize Theron, Lera, black coffee to name a few . They all became known outside Africa before making names for themselves in Africa. I'm sure a few people know nothing about these people in this forum but they are recognized internationally. Black coffee was ordained as the world's best Dj and has a Grammy award to prove it but I've never heard of him playing in any african country. I don't know why this has been a trend for them but will investigate . But hopefully Trevor Noah will venture into other African countries coz a lot of people seem to like his humour.
