Modern Day Forwards = Speed, Skill, Mobility. Simple.
Suarez, Cavani, Benzema, Aubameyang, Lewandowski, Aguero etc. It is not a size thing.

I hope ya Learning. wink

Lewandoski is the real definition of target man. Big, strong, good shot to booth, win headers, brings people into play and all that classic no 9 move.
Where people are getting the idea that a good all fashioned, big, strong striker model is going extinct defiles belief.

Not when one of the hottest players in the transfer market who clubs are falling over themselves to sign up with about £80M transfer fee quoted in the person of Torino striker, Belloti is the definition of a proper big centre forward.
Amongst the top rated teenagers in Europe is Alexander Isak of Dortmund. At just 17 he's imposing figure stands at 6ft 3.

It's not like I'm at loss why people are running with the view that the big centre forward type is not fashionable. Obviously all in view to make a case for Kelechi starting for the eagles at all cost.

I also believe in Big Centre forwards.

But mention one now that you feel deserves a starting place that will put Iheanacho on the bench against Cameroon.

Just like someone asked the other day about Ronaldo : " Is Lewandowski playing for Nigeria against Cameroon?"

To the #TeamBigStrikers name the Big NIGERIAN Striker you want us to feature against Cameroon and let us take the argument up from there.

Make una Leave Lewandowski matter for "Matayas" abeg

I take a bit of offence in that because u make the discussion seem childish. People have named all types of players why didn't u ask if they were playing for Cameroon?

U are funny o. Apart from Aguero u named some pretty big dudes. Look it's simple, no matter 7 ft or 5 ft it is your performance that counts in the end. There is no such thing to me as modern strikers because we already had Ronaldo and Henry play the position anything a new striker does has been done before.

Nobody is saying non-Nigerian players shouldn't be mentioned here. But the intensity of that Lewandowski debate was something else.

It was worth asking whether he would play against Cameroon abeg.

Unfortunately I do not think we currently have a stand out quality physically imposing stand out striker.

Our two options are Ideye and Anichebe I have watched both of them in the EPL and thier goal tallies are far from impressive.

But as a player who can hold up play terrorise the opposing defence and dominate all the aerial battles. My preference would be Anichebe he is simply a beast defenders nightmare. He may then score the odd goal.

Anichebe is a power and physically imposing player no doubt. But where I may have problems with him is his clinical ability.

Sincerely, I wish we had quality and experienced CF even in the Modes of Yakubu and Martins (in their hey days). Iheanacho for chop bench.

One player I am not happy with our successive coaching crews for ignoring is Aaron Samuel. Injuries and lack of national team call ups really set the guy back. Who knows he would have grown into a monstrous striker by now.

But for now iheanacho it is for me.

I can start listing Tevez, Rooney, Immobile, Forlan etc. I listed those ones to show that it is not about size but movement and skill. Most of them play comfortable in different forward roles. Today you can see Osimhen can play on the wings and forward, Same with Nacho. However a player like Bony is mostly restricted to playing as a forward. We can not imagine playing Alan Shearer or Crouch on the wings. Same goes to Andy Carroll or Benteke.

However, Firminho is almost flawless moving into different forward roles.

By the way, did you not see Suarez in that list?

If they were in Manchester City, they will chop bench or not even see bench. It is about quality of the player not if you scored goals in one League or the other. When the coach is in camp, his job is to select the best quality in each position.
