Good morning people, I'm currently in australia running a masters program in animal science. I served (NYSC) from 2015 oct to 2016 oct on a livestock farm, I was paid by the farm(cash) and by the government of Nigeria through a bank. I was thinking of submitting for assesment(vetasses) as an agricultural scientist. Please I need opinions about whether it will fly or not. Thank you all for your responses 1 Like |

damoche64: I am thinking of getting point for my experience. It's just 3+ years. I'm still awaiting IELTS before I start my EA journey. Can you please give further clearification on what should be looked out for. I have heard several people saying they don't want to claim point for their experience. Is it that it is more difficult to get assessed this way or there is something I am missing? I have heard people talk about VESTASS and co reducing their years of experience. Do you have any idea if EA does this too? |

[quote author=bimlat post=58283472] My wife is a chartered accountant. She qualified in 2011 with 7 years experience as an auditor and tax associate She did Ielts with 6.5+ score 32yrs and graduated from unilag with first class (DLI) in 2014 Let me try to respond to this as much as I can - relating to your wife. First of all, the IELTS score is supposed to be 7 across bands so she is going to do another. Then I don't think she can assess her ICAN qualification alone, I also do not know if they will reckon with part time (DLI) - gurus in the house can speak on this but when you are ready to assess, I will suggest you go with ICAA. Moreover, you will have to get transcripts and syllabuses for both programmes (ICAN and school). |

I got a positive assessment from VETASSESS as an Agricultural Scientist.I guess what you need to do is: 1.check the AZSNCO job descriotion for Agricultural Scientist and see if it corrolates with the job you have undertaken with the Animal farm you worked with during your NYSC. 2.Create a CV that match the job description of Agricultutlral Scientist as stated above. 3.Include research work, papers etc you conducted during this period as it is a requirement for an Agricultural Scientist to be studying or have studied Plant and or Animal. 4.Include relevant docs VETASSESS require for an assessment. Follow closely this procedure and other relevant inputs here, then be sure you will get a positive assessmnet 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Nobody: 3:09pm On Jul 10, 2017 |
lakola:Then you're good to go. As advised, please check ANZSCO for the requirements of an Agricultural Scientist and allign your CV to relfelct same. You'll also be required to get a statement of service (reference) from the livestock farm you served. A sample template is on the first page of this thread attached by Oga Bellong. I think your undergraduate project should do (personal opinion...I've not been assessed too, although I'm nominating Agricultural Consultant). In all, you should get a positive assessment. Let other gurus and our seniors also advice you. |

Abeg o, has anyone travelled to Australia through Singapore? Was there any need for transit visa for a layover of about 6 hours at Singapore (departing same day)? I'm getting confused, I booked on Travelstart and they confirmed to me that I won't need a transit visa but a friend tried to book same itinerary on Wakanow and was told he'll need a transit visa. Anyone with firsthand info on this, pls help. Thanks. 1 Like |

Kamal474: Going by the results of the previous invitation rounds, 60 points has always been sufficient to get an invitation and with this score of yours, you should get an invitation tomorrow. |

lakola:Sure it will.I included my undergraduate research work, but this time the abstract. There are some things we do which when looked at critically,it is a research. For instance, on my fish farm,I had series of issues with the water I use for production. This necessitated several findings and water analysis at Animal care etc. I summed all these up as a research work.Ordinarily, anyone could just let this slip by,but that I used as part of the docs I sent.Willing to drop more hints for you.VETASSESS ain't a joke at all.Got a negative out come first, repackaged, and positive landed on just 3weeks of submitting a reassessment 3 Likes |
