Hi, i also worked with a few banks and prior to getting a positive assessment, I submitted an affidavit, a letter of reference from my supervisors detailing my duties. I also submitted all my employment documents as well as JD.

I will advise you PM me or send me your email. I can share my letters with you. Vetassess will mark you down for working in a bank but theres a way around this.

e-Family,

Greetings.

My current employer, a financial institution, has declined my request for employment reference to VETASSESS (internal auditor).

I saw something about a ''witness'' in Oga Bellong's sample. Just to be sure. Please, who is supposed to swear the statutory declaration of employment. Is it the applicant quoting his supervisor's details or the supervisor stating the applicant works with him?

Which is better/acceptable; a notary public or taking the declaration to the court for declaration?

Sorry peeps. None of us have done medicals yet. Lodgement deadline is next month but i honestly don't want to put the visa on hold. I've been too eager to leave for years now. Any self-made delay will just drive me koko. I've been praying to exit by Sept/October latest. I'd rather not delay as long as funds aren't a challenge.

SegunWamiri:
Your point is well understood bro. Teewhysafe was just speculating just in case the person wants to

Meanwhile, you didn't clear the air about whether she's done her medicals yet or not

Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by toslad: 4:19pm On Jul 12, 2017
You are the one to do the statutory declaration. As per which is better I don't think there is any difference really. I used a notary public for all my documents and got positive assessments with ICAA (with Vetassess you never can tell). I flee at the mention of that name! A word of caution for you though, I think you should do a pre-assessment or something with Vetassess first. My honest opinion cos I have been 'burnt' as per Internal Auditor assessment with Vetassess.

I just saw disectur's response. Kindly work hand in hand with him.

@ Wisemen 045,

If I may ask, why are you assessing with Vetasses?

If you have the requisite qualifications, I advise you assess as an external auditor with either ICAA or CPA.

Both Internal Audit and External Audit are in the same unit group.

Advantages include cost savings and quick response time.

You may read up their sites for more information for their uniqueness.

CPA accepts statutory declaration for employment and you can do it yourself.

Just write your job details, reason you were unable to get reference from your employer and tell a notory public to certify it.

I thought VETASSESS was my only way out ni oo.

I have a degree in accounting and also Chartered with ICAN. My work experience (10 years) is spread across three financial institutions. All in internal control with various positions like Resident Control officer, Control & compliance officer, Cluster Control officer etc. Internal audit exists as a separate department in these companies though we carry out very similar and complementary roles in actual fact.

You mentioned I could assess as an external auditor, how do I go about this? Won't I have to support the request with offer letters etc Is there any work around.

Kindly guide further please. I appreciate your assistance.

toslad & disectur,

Thanks. I have sent disectur a PM. At this point it is better to try all open options.

Also check out the required skills of External Auditor/General Accountant from both ICAA and CPA.

I don't think you should limit the scope to those coming to SA alone, people coming to other states should be able to help you too, then when it gets to Oz, it should be send to you via a local mail or whatever easier means. This way, you may get it faster than you ever thought.

Good morning, I'm the moderator of a small WhatsApp group (LEAVING FOR GOOD). We are just a group of 11 friends on the process, one is in Sydney as of May this year, one has already lodged and awaiting direct grant, I have received and ITA and other are in the process of assessment. Most of us are moving to NSW and Victoria. If you want to use that platform then you can PM me but there is no greater source of TRUTHFUL information than this thread by @bellong.

Hi guys, I'm doing PCC by Friday and going for medicals by next weekend. My wife will be 14 weeks pregnant by then. If I can lodge my 190 visa by 24th and front load all doc's, I'm hoping for direct grant in 4 - 6 weeks. My hope is that IOM can assist to book a ticket for 1st or 2nd week in October.

I don't want to get trapped in Naija due to my wife's prenancy. Does anyone know what the maximum weeks of pregnancy we can be allowed to fly with Emirates or Qatar?

Also how long does IOM take to get booked tickets?
36 weeks... I flew Emirates early this year.

@wisemen045,

Internal Auditor and External Auditor are in the same unit group (2211). Hence, you will most likely get a positive outcome giving your qualifications.

All you need do is to word your reference appropriately.

What is assessed by CPA is that you have appropriate level of competency requires of an External Auditor not necessarily that you are presently an External Auditor.

What are these competencies? They include things like audit, escalating control issues for management attention, financial investigation, ensuring compliance with regulatory enactments and so on. All these I believe you do as a control person.

Like I said earlier, please read up CPA and CAA sites for their peculiarities. There demands are far less than Vetasses. They are also cheaper.

Given your profile, you are a big man so cost should not be an issue. I learnt they pay bankers hired assasin's salaries.

Per adventure you need further clarification after reading the sites, 'am sure toslad will be glad to assist concerning ICAA while I will oblige your request on CPA.

Good morning.

praiseisgood! lol @ hired assisin's salaries.

You really did justice to this.

@wisemen045,

UniIlorin is a good school for Vetassess. So you have loads of options - Internal Auditor, External Auditor, General Accountant.

I am an Internal Auditor in a financial institution and I got positive assessments for both External Auditor and General Accountant from ICAA.I wasnt lucky with Vetassess cos my school (OOU and course - 4 years) was not seen as being equivalent to Australian Bachelors.

Disectur can put you through on the Internal Audit route, I can help out with ICAA while you consult Praiseisgood for CPA. The choice is really yours to make.

The advantage Vetassess has over both ICAA and CPA is that no English test is required before your assessment. ICAA and CPA require a minimum of 65 and 7 in PTE and IELTS respectively.

I hope this helps you further in making your choice.
