chidike: Thank you so much for the detailed reply. Just want to clarify, medicals also lasts for 3 months. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by OzyMigrant: 2:21pm On Jul 30, 2017 |
chidike: Both medicals and PCC last for 1 year by DIBP standard. Both are better done as close as possible to visa lodging date so as to push IED as further as possible from grant date. If an applicant's case is not finalized until one of medicals or PCC expires.........they are likely to be asked to repeat the assessment by CO. IED is determined by the expiry date of PCC or medicals (which ever comes first). PS; Our Nigerian PCC usually have 3-month validity. Fortunately, DIBP still takes it as one year, so no need to panic like I did when I got my PCC from Alagbon and saw 3-months validity. In the same vain, my UK PCC didn't carry an expiry date, but I guess DIBP will still deem it valid for 1 year. 3 Likes |

Rett0: I guess you guys have resolved to go with the initial EA assessment outcome.......right? 20points in IELTS is achievable though, but it's tricky. They are fond of always wanting to withhold 0.5 from one section of the exam. In mine (R8/L8/S8/W7.5), the 0.5 was taking from the section I deemed best in terms of my performance during the exam. If Oga is getting up to 10points in PTE already, he might want to push harder in preparation (taking mock tests) and giving it another shot. |

I think your best bet is to first confirm if such certificate is assessed by Australian standard and on which level is it placed, before making the huge payment of $1000. You can also contact @ Lawland to assist you to check that. Had similar issue with Trade Test Certificate recently before it was discovered that the certificate is not assessible by Australian standard. Ok. Thanks |

Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Nobody: 8:04pm On Jul 30, 2017 |
Don4J:What is your occupation? Your IELTS result can be used for assessment, but does not give you any point in your dibp application. State nomination is 5 points, but different states also have their requirements so you'll have to read about them to know if you meet their requirements. More details from you will enable housemtates to help you better. Regards 1 Like |

nikkycool: If they said 'or competent plus overall' then you can use it. I used my IELTS SWLR 7 7.5 7 6 to get a state nomination that requires competent plus in each band or Proficient overall. |
