I think some of us are going about this league comparison the wrong way. I have been critical of some Nigerian players transferring to Turkey but the truth is that Turkish league is well ahead of Belgium Pro league.
My reason is that the Belgian league is structured more like Europe's development league, where clubs come around and poach talents from. Their buisness strategy is to get young players with the aim of developing them for unward sale for profit. This explains why the transfer record in Belgium stands at €5.5M.

Compared to Turkey, where their buisness strategy is to spend money and attract stars to their league. Their clubs are basically better financed, which is evident on their transfer record towering at €17M with tons of transfer in excess of €10M (recall Belgium Pro league transfer record stands at €5.5M).

Truth is that football players find Turkey more attractive than say Belgium because of the better pay package. I know some will have a problem with this, but we must understand that not everyone in Belgium get transfered to the Premiership and La liga.

CHAN Eagles coasted to an easy 3-1 victory over Kano Pillars Feeders team in their first test match preparatory to a final playoff against Benin later this month.

MFM FC forward Sikiru Olatunbosun and goal scorer Samuel Matthias from Gombe United shone for the home-based Eagles.

CHAN Eagles shot in front through midfielder Samuel Matthias after nine minutes.

Junior Pillars drew level in the 27th minute through captain Awalu Ali aka Mallam after he cashed in on a mix-up in the Eagles defence.

Alhassan Ibrahim ‘Muazzam’ restored the Eagles lead in the 42nd minute courtesy of a superb assist by Kingsley Eduwo, before the Akwa United forward got his brace a minute to the interval.

In the second half the Eagles made several changes bringing in players like goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai, Raphael Anyangbe, Nasiru Sani, Prince Aggreh and Ezekiel Golbe.

But even against a tired feeders team, they failed to add to the tally.

A season or two under Guardiola learning the La Masia method is not endless. This was a big opportunity for the young Nigerian striker to learn some methods that helped mould some of the best players in the game.

Some Players go their whole careers with playing time without learning things like these. So all the talk of playing time was not the priority. The priority for me was Iheanacho being under a highly tactical coach, playing and training in a highly intense system and maintaining his fitness in a disciplined manner.

The playing time will come but the lessons is the most important during the formative years.

Omeruo was a better player at Liege bfor his ill-advised move to Chelsea that has reduced him to an u18 player at the age of 23. If he was patient enough, he Would have had a better development in Belgium than what he got in England. He completed his self destruction (sorry to say this) the moment he opted for stints in Turkey at the developmental stage of his career.

Musa from CSKA to Leicester nko? Make our boys study EPL tape well well before they even consider it.. While some players can adapt, many can't oh. It's not about how good you are, EPL league just has one kind intensity and gra gra. I was always skeptical about the Musa move.

Though I'm an Arsenal fan but due to the fact that Icon4s told wenger not to sign any players apart from Lacasera, I am turning my attention to Leceister City. I will be happy the three Nigerians get enough playtime together and get deeper understanding of themselves in which will help the Super eagles to cross of the hurdles team blending. With these three players involvement week in week out for Leceister, it will be a great advantage for the super eagles team

truth be told i was surprised when leicester bought the guy. not that i'm downgrading him as musa has his unique qualities but the EPL can be unforgiving particularly if one is a one trick pony

I like that switch. Arsenal was my team last year. While I still pray for Iwobi to gain more ground in that team, I have no choice but to move to where more Naija players are -- Leicester. My heart is still with Tomori( ? ) and Moses -- Chelsea.

Good Development.

But how I wish the CHAN Eagles comprises of Non League players who are strictly between 17-22yrs bearing the fact that we don't have any age grade team. This could have been another opportunity to unearth and harness new potentials for the future. CHAN and WAFU would have been the best platform.

NFF could have stated it clearly to the coaches laying emphasis on talent hunting and team building for the future rather than what we are having... It'll even take a Miracle to have 3 new CHAN boys to join the Super EAGLES cos na their mate de there now. But instant grat no go gree...

Anyway I wish them luck.

Sir. Kennysville take am easy with Pep. He is on three year contract that can be extended this season if he can make the cityzens inviscible-which am sure he is working on. I'm just a bit skeptical about his philosophical football which I think might not just work in the EPL.

Well, I only wish he diss his philosophy and embrace true football and if he doesn't he will soon be shown the exit door. But am sure PSG will be calling then. There he can go and win everything he likes if possible the WorldCup with the french CLUB.
