ZoeW: Means no much hope for 65 pointers. I think they will have to spread the 70 points ITA to cross into 2018 just to keep the occupation in the rounds as they can't use up all the slots in 3months |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by jayooh: 3:14pm On Aug 04, 2017 |
bumpypat:It will eventually get to them once that backlogs of higher points are cleared. It's just the wait that might be something else. Maybe in another 2 months sha, 60 pointers in non competitive occupations will start getting ITAs |

So d level of competition in a given occupation is a key factor at dis time? |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Alphadoor: 3:35pm On Aug 04, 2017 |
jayooh: That would be unfair and DIBP is always doing its best to be fair This is why there is a Pro -rata Arrangement for such occupations. Pro-Rata: a proportion of the qualified people will be invited, instead of inviting all of them to fill up the quota for the round |

ZoeW: 40% already ke.. others are on a 5% per round. |

Junnaid: The process for 489 is same as 190 and 189. Read the opening page of this thread for further information. What I am not sure is what vetasses will equate your PGD to. That is actually the key here. You can do the advisory service first, at least with that, the money involved is not much of a pain if lost. |

Alphadoor: Sorry just to get it clear...when you sent your eoi does not really matter as long as you rank high in the pool?like if someone sent eoi with a score of 65 in March 2017 and another sent eoi in June 2017 with a score of 75...the candidate with the higher score gets ita irrespective of effective date of eoi? Until the cut off points drop to 65 before the march candidate will be invited (assuming occupational ceilings have not been reached)....pls my people just help me clarify because some occupations are highly competitive |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Prolivingproof(m): 11:24am On Aug 05, 2017 |
Misoke:That is correct if you are in the same occupation with the person. However, somebody nominating an occupation that is less competitive with 60 points (e.g Agric. Consultant) can get an ITA before another person nominating an occupation that is more competitive with 75 points (Accountant general) assuming they both have the same DOE 1 Like |

Regional nomination fee in NSW is over double state nomination fee, 770: 300 AUD. And the areas sef are not so attractive. Pls can one change between regional areas? Like moving from the one that sponsored you to another area( though still regional) is it allowed? Cc: Bellong |

cleanupspills: Consider hitting English for 20 points and you more than home dry. I see it as an opportunity for you to do 189 which gives you a lot more freedom of you will. |

I think you can but you have to show reason for moving, eg not able to get a job in that region for at list 6months. With this they will give you letter allowing you to move to another regional area. My one cent wait for bellong and others to add more quote author=jayooh post=59173522]Regional nomination fee in NSW is over double state nomination fee, 770: 300 AUD. Dear, Please while registering for IELTS with British Council, where I am supposed to input "given names", I only wrote one name instead of two as it appears int'l passport and I have submitted the application. Can I still go ahead and make payment? So all the names British Council has is just my surname & first name but the name on my passport is Surname, two other names. Am I safe to make payment? Hope it wont affect me in any ways in the future? mrsojephone: |

Hello House, My name is Nnamdi, I studied Petroleum Engineering in Nigeria, I am currently doing my masters in Oil and Gas Engineering at UWA, I have been reading this trend for a while and I have really enjoyed the way we help each other on this platform, Anyways I would like to get an advise as to how I can go about with my PR plans. Three weeks ago, I noticed that Petroleum Engineering was added to MLTSSL but @bellong and others explained that it doesn't mean we can apply as skilled independent (189). So my question to the house is please, what other way can I go about this residency issue.....I appreciate any opinion. Thanks guys |

[quote author=billy post=59191888]Dear, Am I safe to make payment? Hope it wont affect me in any ways in the future? Better you don't make payment till your five working days lapses, then you can register and in put your names correctly or you goan correct it in their head office as suggested earlier. |

@paka2016, You can apply for Engineering technologist. @cleanspills, New South Wales and South Australia sponsor bricklayers on 190. Apply to both states but give more preference to New South Wales. Meanwhile, put more effort in attaining your desired scores through English test. |

Hi Billy, Don't stress it. You may go ahead to make payment. I had similar experience and British Council recognize the potential for first timers to write only the first name as their given name consistent with the format of the application form. You will have at least two opportunities to correct it namely at the speaking test day and on the written test day. You will be given an admnendment form to fill before your test on day 1. The amendment would have been implemented by the time you show up for test day 2. In the event that the speaking and written tests are on successive days thus making it difficult to implement an amendment submitted at the first test day, you will be given an admnendment form at the end of the test day 2. Just focus on preparing for the test. All the best! billy: 1 Like |
