kingWB: Hello Everyone. Big ups to everybody contributing here and I'll really appreciate it if someone can help me with this problem. So I plan to start processing my travel and study soon but there is something that's been bothering me. I would like to work and possibly continue living after my studies in canada but I have a degree in psychology and I'm pursing an msc in the same course but apparently you have to have a PhD to practice psychology which means I most likely won't b able to secure a job after graduation. I would pursue PhD also but I only have funds enough to sponsor msc and would like to start working asap. My other alternative is to pursue a pgd in human resources management but I heard pgd don't get visas approved and also that lambton college is 27k c. a.d Anybody in canada that has any pointers would really b helpful. Thanks Hello boss, While I understand your angle especially wanting to stay back and work, I will advice you focus on the short term goal first, which is obtaining your msc first. When you are on ground, everything will become very clear with respect to your long term goal, which is working/phd. In the light of this, I would advice you pursue admission for a masters course in psychology and everything will follow suit. Since, you aim to pursue phd, while doing your msc put your ears on the ground. There are always bits of info about funding here and there, so you will definitely get wind of any info regarding funding for your phd. Everything is possible. All you need is God and patience. My opinion is based on my understanding of your statements above. I might not be correct though... Warm regards. Mazi 7 Likes |

Keep in mind that many have successfully defended a career change and obtained their TRV. If you really feel passionate about your new field, I will highly encourage you to go for it. Your passion will show through, even with the way you write your SOP to the VO. If its something you are doing only out of convenience, by all means realign your course to something convenient that shows a progression to what you have studied in the past. You are welcome. You will need a lot of help with your SOP when applying for your TRV. Pm me if you want, I can successfully guide you. 2 Likes |

Sorry for the delay Yes, first tinx first. Request for ur gcms note.find out why your application was delayed. D profile u shared is not well detailed ,couldn't get anything from it. Did u pay ur tuition fee?.(not compulsory tho) The course u chose and the previous course studied ,how relatable are dey.
If itz based on lack of funds..u didn't include how much ur tuition fee is .if itz upto 17k Cad considering u involved a third party, the sum should be higher .
It could also be based on travel history, since u said u ve been denied visa once but failed to state it but u later mailed dem and they acknowledged dey have gotten it..CIC tho Request for your gcms notes .letz know wat happened
Nd please for your study permit apply in your home country. I have seen a moniker here ( our sacrificial lamb) it was not successful..
@mostblackroads from my own little understanding going by using a third party sponsor would have been nice if he paid your full fees or half to show commitment and even go ahead to transfer the money for your upkeep into your account and also stating in the sponsorship letter that he has paid your fees and transferred money into your account and will even do more "when" your visa is approved! I think that is better For the misrepresentation, now you have known! In your next application please declare it If you are not sure it's better to err on the side of caution... It's better to tick" YES " when you have not been denied than to tick " NO" when you have been denied |

Well am not der yet o. But due to friends der and questioning. i knw If yhu were given 2yrs study visa. Yuu willl be given 2years study permit extension. After completion of the study. Then. Yhu would had stayed more than three years. Yhu can now apply for citizenship passport if yhu so wish. I stand to be corrected please.
IBB. This is applicable to most of the countries if not all, including Nigeria. To gain Citizenship status in a country, you must have resided in that country for 10years and above. Then you and file in for citizenship. In some countries, you'll be placed on a exams and if passed, you'll be granted citizenship. Then you can get your passport. What most people if not all who go for studies in Canada do is, after their studies, they'll be granted a post-study work permit. Usually 1yr work permit for a 1yr study and 3yrs work permit for a 2yr study. During their work permit, they do their IELTS and join the FSWP Express Entry Pool. At this point, with their very high CRS points because of the advantage of Canadian study/work/a valid job offer (these features shoots up CRS points), they'll be given an ITA, and eventually a Permanent Residence Permit Status. Now let me clear this, Permanent Residence permit is NOT citizenship. You are only free to reside and work and school as a citizen (as you won't be required to pay international fees in schools) with all the benefits of a citizen But the Citizenship status and passport. After 10yrs of stay, you can now File for Citizenship. This is the best I know about the whole thing. Regards. Cc: @ronvlaar 10 Likes |

Dear friends, please I need help on a disturbing issue. I applied to a University in Canada to study masters in Civil engineering and had spoken to two potential supervisors, who have promised funding opportunities if admitted. At the moment, I have 1 million in my account but I can be able to pay the required fees (20k cad) if not sponsored but that will be when I have a visa and sell some of my properties. My greatest fears lies in my statement of account. How do I go about this? On the other hand, I have a friend who is willing in to give me his bank statement of 80k USD but I am not related to him. Please, what are the steps I need to take as I am very hopeful for the admission while my application is under review for January 2018.
Thank you all as I await your response. |
