1. How long did she say, she was going to stay in the US, on her form and at her interview?
2. Depending on her age, they could overlook her staying that long, so long as it does enter into 'overstay' zone. IMHO.
3. The other's is best answered by the VO (@AbujaNIV) and resolved by the airline.

Spot on bro but I will like to suggest 2 weeks before the end of her 6 months and she can call Qatar airline or the agent that booked the ticket.

Good evening gurus and everyone,

Firstly, I will like to encourage everyone to take time out to read this page from the very first page. It's painstakingly but the knowledge here assisted me in avoiding touts and agents.

Transcript for today's interview @ window 3( A young girl)
Vo: Good morning
Me: Good morning
Vo: Why do you want to go to the United States?
Me: I want to attend the traditional and white wedding ceremony of my childhood friend in................ , to show support for their union and share in their joy, thank You.
Vo: I see your dad is late
Me: Yes
Vo: I'm sorry about that
Me: Thank you.
Vo: Was your dad a citizen?
Me: I was told by the visa officer years ago that he was a green card holder.
Vo: What do you do?
Me: I'm the CEO of ............ Entertainment and bar. Told her my Functions.
Vo: Are you married
Me: No, I'm engaged.
Vo: Any children
Me: (with a honest smile) I just found out I'm going to be a dad two days ago.
Vo:What does your "WIFE" do?
Me: She is fashion designer.
Vo: Have you traveled out before? (why flipping through my passport)
Me: No
After tying for few seconds, stretch her hand and handed me a paper on why I can't get the visa, though white paper but not the real white paper if you know what I mean.

So guys that's it, I knew my ties of not traveling and others was low but to be honest, travelling is not really my thing, I have a good business and can sponsor myself. if not for wedding, I don't think I will want to visit after I was denied immigrant visa years ago.

But here is my little worry, I have a feeling that my application then ruined my chances,I just hope nothing has gone wrong.

Here is a brief story of how it happened cause I was young then. My step brothers are both citizens but my dad filled for me when he went there for visit twice.

So after the medical test and all, the interview date came like a year or two after my dad died, I was told by the visa officer then that I cannot get a visa cause I can't prove through DNA that he is my father.

My step brother said he filled a petition for us over there but till date I don't know how it went. I can't ask him and he won't even say cause our relationship has gone down the drain after father died.

Two things on my mind, either the Vo perceive that i would still want to immigrate or that petition filled by my brother has something to do with it with cause I wasn't expecting that question though I wrote it out in the form.

Specials thanks to everyone, can't mention names cause it's a very long list. You guys rock.
Sorry for the long epistle.
Your case is probably more complicated than you know are willing to share.
From what I've learned from VOs that have responded on immigration matters when a petitioner dies then the petition is no longer valid. So if your dad as an LPR filed a petition for you nd he died before your interview then you won't get the visa anyway.
If your brother filed for you then it would be category F4 and average time for that is 14 years, so unless you know your priority date for that or if your brother has withdrawn the petition you can't say. Your immigration history is on your records anyways
FB visas are for family reunification in the US
But apart from that you may want to consider mending relations with your brother...you are family still

Hello House.

I want to say a big thank you to every contributors in this thread. I engaged the help of an Agent prior to discovering this innovative thread and I came to the conclusion that I should not have but instead follow the guidance of this thread's "technocrat". We went for our interview (B1/B2) and our transcripts are below:

Venue: Lagos US embassy
Afrer all security clearance, we were finally At cubicle 5.

VO: Good morning
ME: Good morning. Happy US independence in arrears
VO: Oh! Thank you.

VO: Your passports please. (handed over our passports)
VO: You are going for family vacation right?
ME: Yes.
VO: You are going to... (expecting me to confirm our destination)
ME: We are going to Orlando Florida

VO: What do you do?
ME: I work with ................. as Financial Auditor.
VO: That means you are a practising Accountant
ME: Yes, I am a Chartered Accountant.

VO: Is this your only Child?
Me: Yes

VO: Have you been on family vacation before?
Me: Yes. We went for family getaway weekend to Gha..... (did not let me finish before turning to my wife)

VO: Madam what do you do?
WI: I work with ....... as a relationship officer
VO: What's your work e mail?
WI: www...............com (cuts her...). Is that your personal e mail?
WI: Oh! my personal email is ..........@...........com

VO: Sir your visas are approved and you will find instructions on how to collect them on this paper (Its white).
ME: Thank you.

Note: the interview did not last for more than 3 minutes and the VO was busy typing for close to two minutes of the 3. Thank you everybody. We hope to travel soon because we are still working on harmonising our holiday period in our various offices (Me and my wife and our 1 year old Treasure).

If you are using help of an Agent, kindly ensure details in your forms are based on your instructions and thoroughly verify this by requesting copies for your perusal prior to attending the interview. It will be well with us all.

she has two year visa and she said she was going to stay 3 months but was given 6 months to stay. she is old at 62 yrs and is here for omugwo. But my baby had psoriasis and can't go to day for a long time. I just want to know if she can finish her 6 months without any consequence to her returning again. She doesn't work, not even nanny for anyone other than look after my baby.

Maybe she could do as much as 5 months (181 days and above is grave oh, like 3 years ban for starters) IMO since she officially asked for 3 months for "omugwoship" and going by her age if I got you right - especially if it is on record that she isn't really busy in Naija from her visa interview and with CBP, but then, don't send her home for just two weeks and hurriedly try bringing her in again once she departs the US. And also, you should be grinded in the implications of freebies if touched by visitors I presumes. As regards the no-go areas, abi?

@WINDOWS8.

LIke someelse said, you pending immigration case/petition may be a contributing factor.
once someone has files for you...your chances of being given a visa is quite slim -- since intent to emigrate has already been established by the filing.
its standard for you to be denied visa

Congratulations Adekydo.
This is a good example when having quality job/employment and working with a reputable company/institution mean "strong tie".

We give this advice again and again. We do not recommend that you use agents. If you choose to use one, you, as the applicant, are fully responsible for whatever information the agent enters on your application. We do have access to all of your prior applications, whether approved or refused. Certainly if your story changes from one application to another, that can make you seem less credible. We always advise applicants to be fully honest with us.

Good evening everyone, please I need your advice I was denied Visa in May
I was supposed to attend a conference so the agent I used filled my form which she filled wrongly - she wrote that I don't have relatives in US, that there's no need writing I have relatives there since I am going for a conference
My uncle wants to invite my family and I for Christmas
please I need to know if this can stand against us

Fill separate DS 160. Let one of you set up a profile on cgi federal and add the rest under the profile set up. You will get one appointment booking with all your names thereafter

They give preference to the elderly. So i guess she can stay the 6months but should leave a week b4 the 6 months expire.

However, she could have just stated on the form /interview she was going for omugwo and would spend 6months...

Its in Central area by Bolingo hotel. Anywhere you're coming from tell the driver you are going to bolingo hotel. Its a one way express, bolingo is on the right, US embassy is further down on the left.

Hello house, this is a wonderful thread and u guys r doing a great job by keeping it alive. To cut my long story short, I've applied for US visa before with my family and was denied. I had no travel history then, I wanted to attend my twin sister's graduation, she is a citizen. Now I have 2 travel history, Ghana and South Africa. I still maintain my old job which is not paying so well. Right nao I want to reapply, to my question is it safe for me to mention my twin sister as my sponsor or hubby because my salary can't sponsor my trip. I have a baby but I want to go visit my twin sister alone without baby and hubby. Pls house wot are my chances dis tym cos I really want to get it rite.

Good Evening Everyone...

Firstly I know I made a mistake, pls I need urgent advice..

I applied for visiting visa with my wife in 2015 and we were refused (An agent helped us). He told us he knows someone in the US that I should claim he is my uncle which I did and he changed my business name while filling the form to his preferred one (I think he did all this to justify the money he collected from us) and I have a good business with good earnings.

I have a good travelling history, I have been travelling to the UK on visiting for the past 10yrs, I did my masters there aswell and I lived there on work permit for 2yrs plus. I currently have a UK visiting Visa and I have been to Spain before which I planned renewing soon.

I want to apply again and I don't feel comfortable lieing about having an uncle in the US and using the business he used for me in the past

MY QUESTION: please can I come out clean to the consular about the false information in my previous application? And explained the situation and make him understand information in my new form is the real me.

I don't mind if I am refused, I just want to clear the false information up.

Thank you for reading and look forward to your advice

Just go ahead through the process, If you are qualified for Dropbox, there wouldn't be need for appointment date to be obtained (you will need schedule an appointment at this stage only if you are not qualified). You may later be called in for an interview after Dropbox submission if deemed necessary, that's when you schedule appointment with same fees you already paid for the Dropbox.

Thank you for your response. However, I hope that won't put a permanent flag on my name if I end up confessing all I said in my first post?

Also, like I said earlier I don't mind been refused going that route but is there a chance that my visa is granted at the same time...

Thanks

No it won't. Infact though I am no VO, but you have a 90% success rate if you come clean. You have good travel history, family & job tie if all you put up there is true.

Start by filling your DS 160 form yourself. Also state you misrepresented in your previous form. If this comes up during the interview, explain yourself as truthful as you can and you'll be surprised at the positive outcome.

In addition @ mizbee, when in the CGI process, just answer the questions as they come. If you qualify for dropbox, it brings out your dropbox letter, if not it asks you to schedule an appointment. It is still same process.

Anyone is okay as long as you fill it correctly. I submitted via dropbox but was still invited for an interview via 221g.

I went for the interview on the 1st of August just 2 questions asked and passport was ready on the 2nd.

Thanks and God bless you shrekandfiona...And Omobendel24 God bless you too!

Lastly, do you think I should explain all the false information by the agent in my previous application without the VO asking because he/she (VO) might not ask then refuse me... while the major reason for this application is to clear things up. (I forgot to add this, he claimed have bn to Ghana and Togo, I want to come clean bout this too) I was so stupid to fall for this tho. Lesson learned!

I look forward to your reply
