My story is a long one but ill summer it

1st application was made in October 2016. I was denied based on purpose of visit, current employment situation, travel history and personal and financial asset
2nd application was made in january and was denied in march for insufficient funds, travel history and family tie in canada and country of residence.

I ordered for my gcms note for tge 2nd application and the vo said most of the funds I showed were in form of asset and not easily accessible.

3rd application was made on the 5th of June, my status didn't change, I had an opportunity to go to uk on a scholarship and I sent a withdrawal of application mail to cic on the 14th of August. On the 15th of August cic requested for additional docs ie proof of prepayment of tuition...though I attached my tuition fee receipt in my application so I was wondering why they still asked for it. I however sent it to them. On the 16th of August, Accra sent a mail on the 16th in reply to my withdrawal request that a decision has been made on my application. I checked my account immediately nd saw nothing. Checked again on the 17th and even earlier today and saw nothing until around 6pm , my account was updated and it was an approval.

God is really faithful. He has given me the best birthday gift ever cos today is my birthday!!!!!

Only Jesus can do it ooooo...it can only be God cos my application was actually forgotten

Success to all TRV hopefuls. Cheers

Your story is inspiring! Big congrats!

I filled it wrong. I filled it as 10K+10K+1K= 21K. Which makes me suspect that the vo will assess your funds on their own despite what you fill on the form but the way you did it is the right way to do it.

You are very correct! I always tell people to fill the form the best way they are able to, but VOs whether you fill it correctly or not, have the ability to discern how much money you have to meet to cost specified in IRCC forms issued by school.

I understand your plight but I would advice you to keep trying, In addition always remember the following point when you sent out email to a prospective supervisor.
1) keep it short. no more than a single page. Professors read hundreds of these, and they have a ton of other things to do, so don't ramble
2) start with stating that you are applying for PhD positions and are interested in working with them. If, at this point, the professor is not interested (e.g. they have no money or space), they can just tell you so and skip the rest of the email.
3) introduce yourself with at most 2 sentences, don't go on and on about how awesome you are, but you do want them to know where you are coming from e.g. "I am a senior at XX university, and have been doing research in YY field under ZZ professor".
4) show that you know what the professor does (i.e. cite his/her papers, stuff from their website)
5) show that your knowledge / experience / interests dovetail with his/her research. Don't start proposing projects here yet (that is for later emails / phone conversations), just a few sentences that you have been working in the field for a while, or have done projects for classes that inspired you to go into this field, and that you have research experience.
6) ask whether the professor would be interested in considering you for a PhD position in their group, and thank them for their time.

AGAIN, NO MORE THAN ONE PAGE.( Adapted from Sandeep.V. Post on quota)
All the best.

Congrats! Please can you give me the format of the withdrawal mail and the address you sent it to? I want to withdraw my study permit application and focus on my PR application since they haven't answered me yet. My profile was updated to review of eligibility yesterday and since classes are starting September 5, I wonder if everything will click in time. My best bet now is to focus on and submit my PR application.

Calm down. Review of eligibility yesterday? You will get a reply soon. Sometimes medical request to medical passed to passport request and approval doesn't go beyond 2weeks. Sept 5th you said so I believe you will get a response soon. Just stay put in that faith. Congrats in advance

When did you submit.
Not everybody writes one, its simply to explain certain tbings that could be confusing, though it helps with the intent part.

If your friend helps you fill it, (S)he will put his/her detail in enquirer information and yours in applicant information. So they aren't the same

Hahaha....Boss when my TRV come....me sef go join list of garri.
However i think one should get lost to find his/her way quickly. Many people get lazy to even know their way because of google maps but when you grt lost you start to notice landmarks and eventually get youself out of the "maze". The alternative however is to choose a weekend and just explore...just go out, know your area check out shortcuts and the likes.

Try and send the sop asap. As for printing and scanning it again, just convert the MS word document to pdf or whatever form you intend using (ni need to print and scan again). Lastly not all applicants submitted sop so except u need to explain some very important thing to the vo , if not don't send it

Try MSVU, They offer a master's degree in applied human nutrition and I don't think you require a supervisor.
You should also work with what judebebo32 said hopefully you will get an advisor.

Hello experts and beneficiaries on this forum.

I am a newbie here, a final year student about to write final semester exam for B.Sc Degree in Nigeria here.
I will like to pursue higher education in Canada and needs concise information.

Please note that, I'm aware similar issue could have been discussed on this thread in some time past, but with how lengthy the treads are, it is not easy to read all through, hence I will appreciate to have some summary to start with as I read more to get updated.

Thank you all ahead of your help!

Focus on getting A grade in all your last semester courses. Anything you read now will almost be useless if you have very poor grades. Good luck!

Graduate pharmacy is quite different from pharmacology is a branch in pharmacy but I studied Pharmacology my G.p was low that's why i opted for Undergraduate chemistry i actually wanted using some chemistry courses to apply for Pharm D (Doctor of Pharmacy)

My question is if I apply for direct program of Pre pharmacy and write a well detailed sop as the pre pharmacy is a pathway for the Pharm D will that be convincing as my gp isn't high for the masters?

I really don't know your field but I will advise you get an admission that is related to your UG degree or experience.
