The Authority Icon: IFEANYI ERIC OKOYE
For being an astute businessman who also has the abiding interest of his community, state, region and country at heart; for recognizing the critical importance of pharmacy in the development of a healthy society and moving to provide both related products and employment opportunities for thousands of Nigerians, Dr. Ifeanyi Eric Okoye, Ph.D, FPSN, KSJ, MNI, is The AUTHORITY Icon. An astute, hard-driving entrepreneur, he navigates with a Master’s degree and Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Technology. He is the founding Managing Director/CEO of Juhel Nigeria Limited, a top-notch, wholly indigenous pharmaceutical company. Meet Dr. Ifeanyi Eric Okoye, Ph.D, FPSN, KSJ, MNI. After his NYSC in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the young Anambra State-born business visionary, in 1982, joined Upjohn Nigeria Ltd, an American based multinational pharmaceutical company and worked for five years before the establishment of Juhel Nigeria ltd., in 1987, in response to calls for local provision of cost-effective generic products to fill the gap left by multinational companies operating in the country. Today, the little seed has grown into a big oak tree with presence in the 36 states of the federation and the FCT. Acording to him, “In 2001, we moved to our permanent site at Emene and expanded our product lines to other products like syrups and capsules and in 2010, we built a parentheral plant and it was commissioned by President Goodluck Jonathan on October 15, 2010.” On other challenges the company has encountered, he stated that “Number one is the unavailability of funds and where available, the high interest rate. Then there is the issue of infrastructure (electricity, roads, security), instability in government policies etc.” He is the National Vice President of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN). He is an award winner of Abuja and Port Harcourt Chambers of Commerce, Industry, mines and Agriculture. He is a distinguished fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and a member of the institute. He has been actively involved in a lot of developmental activities in Anambra State. He is a member of the board of trustee of the UNDP assisted Human Development fund in Anambra State and also a member of the governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Oko in Anambra State. A great employer of labour, his company has in its employment a staff strength of more than three thousand workers. He in all regards is an outstanding entrepreneur with both local and international recognition. He is married to the love of his life, Pharmacist (Mrs.) Amaka Okoye and they are blessed with children. It's just an humble profile. Nothing to beat an empty chest about |

caleboxylic: PROFESSOR AMAGH NDUKA, Africa’s finest in Theoretical Physics and Applied Mathematics.
Born in Amankalu, Igbere, in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, he attended Igbere Primary School and Hope Waddle Training Institution (Calabar) for his primary and secondary school education respectively. And through an American scholarship, he proceeded to the Western world, where he obtained Bachelor of Science degree (University of California, Berkerly, 1965); Masters of Science (Stanford University, 1967), and Doctorate degree in physics, under the supervision of Physics Nobel Laureate – Professor Subramanyan Chandrasekhar (University of Chicago, 1971).
Professor Nduka, who could not stand the colour discrimination in the West, against the wish of his teachers and colleagues, returned to Nigeria in 1974. Hejoined the services of the University of Ife as a Senior Lecturer in Physics (1974-81) before transferring to the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, as the Pioneer Professor in the Department of Physics and Mathematics. Some of his career experiences are summarized: Research Scientist, U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, the Enrico Fermi Institute, Batavbia III USA (1970-71); Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign USA (1971-74); Senior Lecturer in Physics, University of Ife (1974-81); Professor of Theoretical Physics and Applied Mathematics, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (1981-date); Visiting Senior Scientist, University of California, Berkley (1983); Visiting Senior Scientist, California Institute of Technology, Pasedena, California (1983); Visiting Senior Scientist, University of Chicago, Chicago III (1983); Visiting Senior Scientist, International Centre of Theoretical Physics, Triester, Italy (1982-83); Visiting Senior Scientist, Columbia University, New York (1985); Visiting Senior Scientist, International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna, Austria (1985); Senior Traveling Fellow, Association of Commonwealth Universities (1985), and a host of others.
A former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (1987-91), Professor Nduka holds two professorships – one in Theoretical Physics and another in Applied Mathematics. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Physics (1986), as well as a Member Emeritus of the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and the American Physical Society (APS). He has published in leading journals in Theoretical Physics and Applied Mathematics. In fact, two of his recent works published in Applied Mathematics (The Geometrical Theory of Science, November 2012 and The Neutrino Mass, February 2013) earned him the Google Scholar of the year for 2012 and 2013 respectively.
Professor Nduka has made many outstanding contributions to science. Most profound is his theory: The Absolute Theory of Science. This theory subsumes all other theories in science, including his Third Revolution Theory in Science after the order of Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein (i.e. first and second revolution respectively). This theory, the absolute theory of science, explains (theoretically and mathematically) nuclear physics, atomic physics, boson physics, nuclear fussion, astrophysics and elementary particle physics – areas of physics which its theorization has since the 1920’s remained static. The theory also provides, for the first time ever, explanations to boson and fermio-boson physics – areas which have eluded physicists since the inception of physical enquiry.
He has also created an entirely new mathematics called discrete geometry or quantum mathematics, with which arsenal he made yet another striking contribution by giving a formal theoretical calculation of the mass of the neutrino – one of the most controversial in particle physics.
Recently, Professor Nduka, in a paper The Geometrical Theory of the Structure of Nuclei, Atoms and Molecules published in Applied Mathematics (August 2014) unlocked another black-box in the understanding of the atom. In this paper, he gave a formal theory to the treatment of many-electron atoms, an area where the available treatment methods, the Schrondinger and Dirac based approximation methods, have failed to yield correct results. With this, Professor Nduka solved the riddle for which his colleagues in atomic, nuclear and particle physics could not.
Apart from the above contributions, Professor Nduka has also developed a very bold and challenging perspective on earthquake and global warming – two of the most well-documented natural phenomena whose origins are yet to be fully understood. His perspective overwhelmingly flawed the claim of environmental scientists that change in the atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations is the sole cause of global warming, but attributed ultra high energy machines, such as particle accelerators operating in the terra energy range, as the cause of global warming and incessant earthquakes of great vehemence. Such machines, he said, serve as earth’s secondary source of energy and they are the drivers of ultra high energy nuclear reactions here on earth similar in magnitude to those occurring in the sun and stars.
A highly sought-after scientist, his only reason for still being in the country is because of the love he has for Nigeria, for having invested so much in his education. More so, he wants to prove to the West that Africans are good, respective of where they are – be it in a Nigerian or American university. In fact, while commenting on his contributions to science, he said, “If I were to be in the US, with all these things I’m doing here in Nigeria (referring to his works), I would have won three Nobel Prizes in Science”. The question is: why has this professor not won a Nobel Prize in science? The Royal Swedish Academy of Science, I think, owes Nigerians and Africa at large, some explanations.
Professor Amagh Nduka, who has been a Professor for 35 years, is still a Professor of Theoretical Physics and Applied Mathematics at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. @bolded They have come again oooooo GoldNiagara, these your blodas wont kill me |

DabuIIIT: I only have respect for Awo and other great westerners..buh the minnions we see around..smh And however, its a shame, porting posts frm the 'other side' to do what, boost ur mud_mixed thread? And if laudat didnt point out that "SHES ITSEKIRI",deomeelo wudd've deceived-hallmark of this thread to a large extent- everybody.. Pathetic. Keep qwayiet dia! Her surname is pure Yoruba, because she is married to a Yoruba guy, and she even speaks the language a bit. I have met her before. So it is a natural error, that anyone could make. And you can clearly see that it was immediately corrected! All of us here do a lot of cross-checking, to ensure that only accurate info., is captured in our posts, unlike you lot who delight in posting any falsehood, conjecture and fairytales on your thread! I have seen you people claiming Indian companies as Igbo without any qualms, and even claiming pure Urhobo people (and even Edo folks, in some cases), as Igbo, despite evidence to the contrary! This has happened more than once! And when you chaps get called out on it, you refuse to admit your mistakes, or correct your errors, but persist in recycling the same falsehood, over and over again! You lot are grandmasters of deception! Do you think those on this thread, are like you? 10 Likes |

Whenever the list of Nigeria’s richest men is compiled, Kolapo Lawson’s name is usually left out. For those close to this unassuming billionaire, who read Economics at the famed London School of Economics, that omission is seen as unpardonable. Their reason: Lawson runs one of Nigeria’s biggest indigenous business conglomerates with interests in banking, real estate, manufacturing, food and beverages sector and with turnover in several billions. A brief rundown of his investments: He used to be the Chairman of the board of Ecobank Transnational, Togo (as he controls the largest individual stakes). He is also Chairman, Agbara Estates Limited, (arguably one of Nigeria’s biggest industrial and residential estates); Chairman of Vitamalt Nigeria Plc; CEO, Lawson Corporation - a trading and investment company (which was founded by his late father,) and also sits on the board of several business concerns. But like his father, the late Chief Adeyemi Lawson (who founded the Grail Movement in Nigeria), the younger Lawson avoids publicity like a plague. And his social life? Practically non-existent, to say the least! http://thenationonlineng.net/kolapo-lawson-the-unsung-nigerian-billionaire/On late Chief Adeyemi Lawson: "My father, who was only 26 or 27, won the election and became the youngest ever chairman of the Lagos City Council. Then in 1963 an opportunity came for him to go into business. He was advising a local brewing group, in their negotiations with the old Western Nigeria state government. He was asked to broker the deal. He succeeded in bringing the two parties together, but on the condition that he was the majority shareholder.
The deal was signed in 1962, and West African Breweries was opened in 1964. It was the first Nigerian-owned brewery in the country. He was thus the first Nigerian to establish a brewery. He just closed his legal practice and focused on the brewery.
We’re still running the brewery, but we no longer make alcoholic products, we make malt drinks called Isomalt, and we are into real estate, in a very big way. Again, my father started that line. Everybody thought he was mad, because he didn’t start by trying to construct a building, he started by trying to build a town!
We’ve been working on that for the last 25 years and we’ve managed to build this unique place called the Agbara Estate. It’s about 30 kilometres outside Lagos on 454 hectares of land. It’s so big that the work will continue for another 30 years.
We have the biggest, and best managed industrial estate in Nigeria, I would say. All the big manufacturers, Nestlé, Unilever, GlaxoSmithKline, Procter & Gamble, are there. The idea was to create an industrial environmental that brings employment. Once people are employed, you then have a demand for other things like housing, shops, social amenities and so on. http://africanbusinessmagazine.com/company-profile/ecobank/kolapo-lawson-thinking-big-comes-naturally/ 4 Likes |

When Oladimeji Edwards founded Hyde Energy in 2012, he had a determination to create an energy company, with a difference. That difference is excellence. Today, Hyde Energy is a global oil and commodities trading company focused on the trading and marketing of oil, refined oil products, gas and renewable energy products in African and worldwide markets. They are also active in the sourcing and supply of metals, metal ores for global industrial customers. Their areas of operation cover trading of crude oil, Fuel oil, Dual purpose kerosene, Aviation turbo kerosene, Gasoil, Gasoline, Naphtha, Liquified petroleum gas (LPG), Liquid natural gas (LNG) etc. Hyde Energy, made the list of successful bidders for the 2017/2018 crude oil term contracts. The contract would run for one year effective January 1, 2017 and covers 32,000 barrels per day. The company launched another retail station as part of its' roll out, with the opening of its new Nyanya outlet along Abuja/Keffi Road, in Abuja. The company also recently acquired a 40 million litre capacity tank farm located in Calabar, South East Nigeria, when it announced the commissioning and commencement of full operations at Hyde Tanks and Terminals Limited, its' storage and terminal division. The commissioning was marked by the delivery of their first cargo of 5,000 metric tons of automated gas oil on board the MT Bluegreen Tigre. The management of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation also awarded Hyde Energy, an LPG term contract for Escravos LPG. Hyde Energy would be the off-taker/purchaser of the Escravos LPG-Mix. This award is a testament of the confidence the management of NNPC has in Hyde Energy. Supported by established relationships with international financial institutions, and with offices in Lagos, Abuja and London, Hyde is well positioned to leverage local and regional knowledge in the structuring of supply solutions to world demands. 3 Likes |
