I go with the bolded.... unto to Yaounde... my points have been made. It is not surprising if they are misunderstood. It is normal in discussions.

Reel out your first XI if you please.... wink Maybe a prediction too perhaps...

misunderstood? hmm, ok, lets just navigate away from there and send the issue into oblivion smiley

My preferred starting eleven remains the same as the one on Friday, except if Ighalo's injury unexpectedly deteriorates and other fitness issues arises amongst others, of which I don't see happening. Getting victory in this match is as nearly important as the first leg. Ola can come in depending on the progress of the game, which leaves Shehu to continue in the starting xi, he had an impressive performance from the previous game. In Rohr's voice: “you don't change a winning team” smiley

I do not see Rohr playing Ola Aina for Echiejile. Not from the beginning of the match at least. Perhaps if we are winning or the game is grinding towards the end.

I am telling you man... The media spoke of Iheanacho being chased by a couple of clubs before Leicester won his signature and even Mbappe and Dembele getting deals after much speculation.... but they miss the fact that Safarigirl is the hottest cake being chased this window.... and now They have to wait till January... how sad. sad

So Oga Joebie... you want a chance to sit next to her in a flight to comfort her.... then behold your contenders above. grin

How can you guys forget the WORKAHOLIC Etebor so easily. Nawa ooo.
On a serious not I think Rohr should try him on the wing....His role need to be defined so we can can give a better evaluation. Etebor,to me is a midfield/winger/ss kind of player but his role hasn't been defined. Super Eagles has so much depth.

Super Eagles Land In Yaounde For Indomitable Lions
Report and photo by Nurudeen Obalola

The Super Eagles arrived here in Yaounde at about 2.20pm on Sunday (today) and got to their hotel around 3.15pm for Monday’s Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier against Cameroon, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The team will be staying at the swank Hilton Yaounde that is said to be the best hotel in the Cameroon capital city.

The team got off the luxury bus that brought them from the Aeroport International Yaounde-Nsimalen at around 3.20pm and entered the five-star hotel through the back entrance under heavy security.

The four Cameroonian journalists and Completesportsnigeria.com were mostly restricted from getting near the team but Completesportsnigeria.com managed to get some shots of the players as they got off the vehicle and had their bags scanned.

The Eagles are due to train at the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo at 6pm tonight.

The match, the second leg of the double-header after the 4-0 Nigeria win in Uyo on Friday, is scheduled to kick off at 6pm, not the 7pm that was initially reported.

Nigeria lead Group B of the African qualifying series with nine points, while Cameroon have only two points. Zambia, who defeated Algeria on Saturday, are second with four points.

Well, Ola is still young with lots of vigor and people may want him to replace Echiejile because the Cameroonians may have a game plan to exploit his side as a result of the perceived lapses from his football. But we should allow Echiejile to retain that position. At least his experience from marking the Cameroonian players in his wing will come in handy when facing them again, and also, with the support of defensively dependable wingers like V.Moses and S.Moses, he can cope.

I said earlier, this match is important, we shouldn't just embrace unnecessary experiments. I believe Ola himself has stated that He loves to play on the RB position more than the LB, and we ought to know what that means.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 5:24pm On Sep 03, 2017
It will be hard to play Etebor ahead of either Moses on the wings.... At CD Feirense, Etebo wears the no.10 jersey and plays mainly as a LWF or Left sided AMF (Left midfielder) in a 4-2-3-1....

Also, when Iwobi returns... more competition for Etebor either centrally or on the wings....

Hard seeing past an Ndidi-Onazi double pivot also... Even though we saw Onazi-Etebor against Algeria with Mikel as AMF on both occasions.

I would love to see Ndidi-Etebor tried out someday... but that may remain not possible for now because I don't see Rohr dropping Onazi Plus Onazi did his place in the team a whole world of good with a beautiful performance on the overall against Cameroun.

So Etebor like Iheanacho will likely provide more depth from the bench.

As time goes on... we are seeing the team take shape... and evolve... Sometimes the opposition will dictate who starts for us and at other times.. we go with our proper first XI.... it all depends.

I could come up with different First XI line-ups removing certain key players and slotting in other key players too... we are gradually getting to that point where we have a really good bench as strong as the first XI..
we are not there yet but we are on our way. smiley

I would think that at some point Rohr will substitute Simon Moses, move Vic Moses to the right and unleash Etebor in the Left midfield; Or sub Mikel for Etebor.

In the the match against Cameroon when Mikel was substituted I was thinking Etebor would come in and now I was like has he gone down the pecking order ??...hmm. Is Mikel Agu above Etebor in the pecking order ?

I like the way you put it concerning Echiejile....and yes Ola did say he is much more comfortable as a RB/RWB than at LB/LWB.... he plays both roles well... but does one much better.

I see Echiejile starting too. We would be facing a huge crowd of Angry and revenge-seeking Camerounian fans who will wanna sew us lose by all means. I don't want Aina to crack under the pressure of trying to impress on his debut. Echiejile will start... unless... wink

Our team helped Echiejile and covered for his deficiency when it comes to pace but his experience is invaluable and he is still a fine baller... his ball controls still rock. wink

In the long run... I think Rohr should focus on getting/scouting more LB options... to "understudy" Echiejile (understudy is the decoy term here) but actually to be an upgrade on Echiejile in the long run...

Jordan comes to mind if we can get him.... uhmmm... Josh Debayo isn't proven yet... and Komekn's Sheyi Ojo... well... maybe he should be looked at too... since he plays LWB now I think...

Another matter is Mikel's long term replacement... Kelechi Nwakali comes to mind.... I would also add Ovie Ejaria if we can get him too.

Could say so much but lemme not leave the present and gobtoo far ahead into the future... we have a game in less than 25hrs from now. A game we must not lose.... at least for our WCQ unbeaten run's sake. grin

Well kinda complicated to say.... it depends on how Rohr intends to utilise Etebor for the foreseeable future.

Rohr has only used him in central midfield as part of the double pivot with Onazi against Algeria and as the AMF against South Africa....

Rohr has not tried him out on the wings yet... so it's hard to say which of the positions Etebor is limited to and then define his place based on pecking order from there.

But let me do a quick analysis of this....

On the wings he will be behind the likes of Iwobi, Musa and Simon Moses.... even Henry Onyekuru may get a look in on the wings before Etebor.

Note: VicMo is King already on both right and left flanks. wink

Others not yet invited which are wingers (left/right) are also Samuel Adegbenro and Samuel Kalu, etc...

In the SS role... Etebor will definitely be behind Iheanacho...

In the AMF role... he is behind Mikel Obi, Iheanacho and maybe even an Iwobi (Rohr knows about Iwobi's central AMF abilities and have seen him play there for Arsenal too).

In the Central/defensive midfield... He is behind Ndidi and Onazi... he competes with Agu and Ogu for that third slot from the bench. And from the last match, Rohr preferred to bring in Agu.

So it depends Sir Odenigbo... smiley

I don't think he'd even change the line up. It was expected that Cameroun will sit back and hit us on the counter but we were the ones that used that approach. Now with this reverse fixture do you see us changing or sticking to the same game plan considering that Cameroun has nothing but pride to play for.

Onazi's engine is important for Nigeria. What he lacks in technique, he makes up in effort.
