defenders are like goalies IMO, they get better with age.

So, thus solid Balogun you see is like this because he has gotten better with age and is much older than Ekong and Awaziem, it's an unfair comparison.

I don't think we need new CBs. What Balogun and Ekong have is gold and Awaziem wikk probably be better next time. Maybe he would be good with Balogun, I personally don't judge players on their debut games cuz I factor in lots of things.

Adeleye and whoever could probably come and play nonsense against Libya sef. Comparing a WAFU Cup game to AFCON Qualifiers is terribly wrong. Let us stop getting carried away by players because of a couple of good shows against poor teams. Na so we shout Uzoenyi for CHAN finish, what happened later?

Give it time
Oh my sister get my point,am not saying Eze or Adeleye are better but they deserve call up to learn from d big boys instead of inviting player like Agbo.

On Awaziem am not ruling d guy off but against South Africa am not impress, hope he bounce back and thank God is having a playing time and he has been impressive in his club and for Rohr to pick him ahead of Omeruo really show that d guy is good.

Truly Uzoenyi disappoint but Oboboana impress and they belong to d same local league then, someone failure should not be a yardstick to judge others or else we miss d good ones.

South Africans boasted a lot too prior to that match.. But what happened on the field had nothing to do with what the fans did or thought.

One thing i know for sure. I did not hear of Rohr studying videos of South Africa before that match. I didn't read of any intensity as regards studying the opponents. All we had were friendlies.

You are very correct! Gbam

Let's be honest. The NPFL standard is poor. Yes, it produced talents, that does not take away from the problems of the league.

Is the NPFl the best platform for a talented player to reach his potential? With some hard work, some players from the league achieve success abroad.

Gbam! You said it all.

Awaziem was one of the top players in the last Ligue 1 game, he played. He played un the centre of defence. He is playing at a much higher level than Eze and Adeleye and he is playing regularly.

He is young but he is solid. One bad game is not enough to write him off. With a strong season in Ligue 1, he can only get better.
Honestly am not writing d guy off coz he is still young but i based my judgement on what i saw against South Africa and until he wear green and white jersey again for me to judge.Hope he get better with his club.

On Eze and Adeleye, truly i cannot compare d duo with Awaziem coz Awaziem is far ahead and better expose. What am saying is that d duo can be invited for more exposure.

Thank you for this post. Let any Super Egales invitee earn it. No 'slot for home based' sentiments.

Slot for home based, my man i w be d last person to canvass for slot for home based or did u see in any of my comments recommending Eze or Adeleye before even as at last week but base on what am seeing in this WAFU d duo deserves a call up,they are Nigerian and if they didn't meet up,simple let Rohr decide.

I agree a bit with Baba Ilori (forgiveness) on his assessment of the NPFL...
No sentiments here the NPFL is becoming a huge joke.. Its hard to believe that this league of our was once the best in Africa that produced the likes of Kanu Okocha Yekinki Findi George Taribo West..etc...

The new management of the LMC ate really trying but the bigger problem lies with the club management.. In this new age majority of clubs in the NPFL are still owned by ghr government.. There's always issue of delay in payment of salary, match fixing, hooliganism and no transparency in transfer activities..

Unless we wake up and restructure the league we will keep losing out going talents to foreign clubs and it will eventually affect the nation team....

#My2Cent

But it's kind funny if you say this current NPFL league is a joke... Maybe you guys should do some research about the league... If you have forgotten the NPFL suffered for over two years... To the extent that it took over one year to complete a league like three years ago...

We should give a great Kudos to LMC ... Consider a league with no sponsor...

The league has been improving little by little we might not see it now but in next 5years to come... You will understand...

More deals are coming in... Private sectors are showing interest.. It will shock everybody if likes of dangote buy any of the clubs...

Now we have more than 4 clubs being owned by private and more still showing up... It's a matter of time...

Even the start owned club will have no choice but to drop those clubs to private owner...

Atleast this current NPFL deserve a credit Less I forgot... New season with new TV right with broadcasting close to 8 matches... We should chill and give them a break...

It's not easy...

I think City scored the ultimate team work goal today. One of the favorite of all time was one score by Cambiasso in 2006. An obvious classic. Today, Guardiola's men did more than a double that for the Sane goal. I hope the clip for today's City team goal comes out.

Argentina team goal - 25 passes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfbBACP-7Kw

54 City passes before Sane scored. West Brom's first touch was Foster's save from Gundogan. Cambiasso's goal v Serbia in 2006 was 24 passes

There was never a time the Nigerian league was the best in Africa. In the 80's and early 90's the Nigerian league was something like a semi professional league.

NO B BAD BELLE O O O!

He is the strongest and reliable CB we've got for now and we can't afford to loose him to injury. He can even be in the pre-starting line-up but make we qualify first.

I couldn't believe what I saw with his performance in our last two matches. He seem too be the defensive version of John Obi Mikel. He put in that great performance after just returning from injury-I doubt if he even had any game time in his club prior to those encounters.

The LMC is working, but all hands must be on deck. It's not the best league in the Africa but at least we are seeing sincere efforts.

But let's not make it seem like nothing good has ever come from the league. Even up till now there are still some good news, here and there.

Hopefully next year we will all get to see the games live. That will make all involved in the league to be exposed to public scrutiny.

That's what I'm saying sir.. LMC are trying but all hands should be on deck..
The club owners their management, the referees, and even the fans have their part to play...

And pls don't misunderstand my post .I never assumed that nothing goof has come from the NPFL. Far from it... This country is blessed with talent in all fields. we just need the right management to harness it...

And so? Wetin conern 80s with the level of the league now? 85% of NPFL clubs didn't own this season and I can give it to you that 80% of the 20 clubs in NPFL will beat all clubs in both countries hands down. Forget the past, its improved (talking from physical experience and as someone that's a stakeholder in the league/also watch live matches.).

Salisu Yusuf will be without the towering defender against the Squirrels in Thursday's crucial last four encounter

Stephen Eze will miss Nigeria’s semifinal encounter against Benin in the Wafu Cup of Nations due to illness.

The FC IfeanyiUbah defender sat out the Super Eagles training which took place at the Sekondi Sports Stadium, Takoradi ahead of the crucial clash against the Squirrels.

Goal understands he took ill and will not be available to don the green and white jerseys as Salisu Yusuf’s men battle for a spot in the final of the competition at the Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday.
