Yes you did and you were so spot on. But in the midst of that loss and the many negative comments and players chopping going on... I just had to take the backseat and say little.

Sir TheGoodJoe, I know I have known you here since my debut on NL in 2015 but I admit that I still stand in awe of the way and manner in which you see and analyse the beautiful game. I love and respect your high standards for how you wanna see the Super Eagles play and excel in matches and competitions. I understand it is because you know and believe in the quality atvour disposal and I believe we can get there. This is why sometimes I urge you to be patient with this lot because I actually understood what you mean by "negative football" in Yaoundé... it is well shaa... Nigerian football can be great again and I hope Rohr stays post-2018 as half as long as Joachim Low... so that we can forge a truly powerful team that can dominate Africa for decades upon decades and also storm the world to finally translate Nigeria's boundless potential into world class impact, performance and ultimately Achievement.

I insist that Nigeria remains the only nation in Africa capable of reaching a senior world cup semis and even lifting the World cup itself. But we must get it right in players selection and much more.... we must never allow sentiments rule or allow deliberate blindness to quality because of one or two poor games to affect our bright judgment of players' quality and potentials for greatness.

Africa looks to Nigeria in soccer and Nigeria know this... we know we hold it within ourselves to rise and conquer but we are the ones holding ourselves back. We have to unleash the beast mode within us. It is no crime or arrogance to be aware of what one is fully capable of based on the potentials and evidence of greatness on ground.... I only pray we as a football nation can finally make things happen again and add another beautiful story to the pages of football, The beautiful game... in ways than Leicester did in 2016.... or in the manner in which Aguero and Man City did in 2012 (was it? or when again? u know that photo-finish...) or even Spain in the golden era of 2008-2012.

It is possible.

TheGoodJoe:

Even after pointing out that the young man was exposed due to the disorganization of our midfielders, the hawks will not agree. I hope he keeps working hard, listening to Ranieri and also paying attention while in camp with Rohr. As long as Awaziem works hard and absorbs the lessons he gets, he can become a great.

Yeah in fact most fizzle out.

That is why when Iheanacho's name was flying hear as the next big player after Ronaldo and Messi I had to state this fact clear that I have seen several exceptionally talented youngsters fade out before they actually started.

I have to call you out on the repeated remark of people calling Iheanacho as the next big player after Ronaldo and Messi. If this was an isolated incident. However, you have done this repeatedly. It is no more a mistake but a conscious effort to tarnish a player.

Please, the Call hear was very clear. The theme was WORK HARD.

This was a comment I made in April, 2016.

TheGoodJoe:
I am not like you who makes a player I support the only thing that matters. I feel and believe Iheanacho is a bright talent and I feel Griezmann at the moment is better.

I want Iheanacho to improve his game and watch how Griezmann plays.

I see a fierce competition between Nacho and Osimhen. I feel there is a weapon growing there. I want Iheanacho to bring in more to his game if he wants to be among the elites in the game.

Unlike you who is looking for anything to prove an average performance is the best thing.

So there is no need coming up with such statements. It paints the thread bad and to those who know that the statement is not true, it gives a negative image of what you stand for.

Enyeama will return. There is no two ways about it. He will return. He is still Africa's most elite Goalie in the game today. He is still Africa's Finest... and the only World class Goalie we have. I can also personally label Carl Ikeme world class but fact is, he is more of near world class...

Ezenwa and Ajiboye are good quality backups and among the best from the local scene but are not world class goalies. At least not yet...

The next line of goalies who I rate to be possible candidates for world class status between the sticks are Alampasu (when we beat Zambia, I want him between the sticks against Algeria in that last game), Nwokolor and Uzoho.... one or two others may still rise... but this is it for now.

Emma Daniel is good too but I rate the three above higher right now based on "potential".... but Emma did great at Rio 2016... this is why with him and the other two in Ezenwa and Ajiboye and the three musketeers in Alamapasu, Nwokolor and Uzoho.... I really don't see the need for Akpeyi apart from the use of the "Experience card" again...

Experience is good and cannot be thrown out the window but again it is not the ultimate. Rohr knew this and went with Ezenwa against Cameroun when he could have easily ran off to Israel and recalled Aiyenugba.... wink

solonnachi:
With the heroics of Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Dele Ajiboye at the WAFU cup, calls for Enyeama returning back to Super Eagles is reducing. Nigeria, how far?

NFF – Chelsea Ace Victor Moses Played A Role In Tammy Abraham Decision To Snub England For Nigeria
September 21, 201702

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has revealed that Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses spoke with on loan forward Tammy Abraham on phone to convince him to switch allegiance to Nigeria.

Abraham has represented England at various youth levels but just like Moses who played for England at the 2007 U17 World Youth Championship, he is still eligible to represent Nigeria at senior level.

Talks over a switch of allegiance to Nigeria were held with his parents and his agent Neil Fewills which according to the president of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick ‎ended on a positive note.

During the talks which were held last week, Moses spoke to the forward who is on loan to Swansea City from Chelsea, and convinced him to commit his senior international career to Nigeria.

A report on the official website of the NFF confirmed the influence of Moses during the meeting which had the father of the player also in attendance.

Also working in the favour of Nigeria is the close relationship Pinnick who is the President of the NFF has with the father of the 19 year old forward, as according to Pinnick they were childhood friends.

Full name Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham, Nigeria are hopeful of capping the forward in their last World Cup 2018 Qualifiers tie against Algeria, if they are able to secure progress to the tournament with a win against Zambia next month.

Chief Icon4s.... I can see that you still carry wrong views of some discussions about Nacho in the past.

The way you keep coming up with that misleading statement about we calling Iheanacho the next big thing after Messi and C.Rinaldo does not speak well of you oooooo.... haba!

Why always exaggerating the contents of what the matter then was? why? why Chief?

Remember it all traces back to when you first said Nacho is not ready and is not there yet to be called up for the Super Eagles.... you made it sound like Nacho is not ready and will flop for the Super Eagles if invited then.

But Same Iheanacho came into the team and rubbished all talks of "The experience card".... Till date you fail to admit that you were wrong about Nacho not being ready. Now you say things we never said.

We showed belief in the huge quality and boundless potentials of Nacho but never called him the next best thing after Messi and Ronaldo.. Na wa... you keep doing this and it is not funny anymore.

Remember how you also brought in Eguavoen into the matter and I told you to go interview Pele and Maradona even for Views on Nacho... you were doing all you could then to make Nacho look like an average talent. All these before he became the EPL's deadliest striker in goals per mins ratio...

Ofcos with time, you became a fan... wink and even supported the idea of Nacho being the leading 9 for us in the absence of any really good option upfront since he is our most lethal forward. So you see... you did come to acknowledge Nacho's quality but you did it without admitting that you were wrong back then. And now from time to time when in discussions with someone else about your reservations on young talents you make that untrue statement about we here hyping Nacho to high heavens as the next best thing after Pele sef.... na wa!

Chief Icon4s... this is not good.

It is hard because I foresee us parking the bus against Zambia. It disturbs my heart because I know we have the right blend of talents to blow Zambia. However, we will tuck our legs and maybe win with a narrow margin or draw.

With a more offensive set-up, that is how we can go far in the game. I know Rohr does not want to risk losing the points he gathered but Yaounde was the best place to light the dynamite.

This is truly a special set we have now but we can not wait for the foreign clubs to build them for us. We need our junior teams playing Friendlies. We need to have a team B of the Super Eagles playing. We need to monitor them and get the best blend.

We also need an offensive strategy and get the best players in the Super Eagles. That is how we can make a monumental impact.

Yes Rohr has already set conditions of his return.
1. Recovery off course
2. Getting a new club so he could play regularly.
3. Accepting the leadership structure in the current team, and not setting any conditions of his own.

Please let me know if I misquoted Rohr in any way.

So it's not going to be automatic, but he could well return in time before Russia.

oga chill na..
packing the bus has never been our thing, even before Rohr.

One thing I can tell you for sure. We are not playing for a draw in this match. We know we are more than that. We knew we could have beaten Cameroon even away. chill, Zambia is coming to our backyard. Let them make all the noise now.
Expect the usual danger men to do the damage. Should they focus on Moses, it would be over. Should they take their eyes off him, it would even be more catastrophic. Wait and see.

Yes you are spot on on Rohr's conditions... and believe me I am sure Enyeama has no problem with Mikel as captain. In fact I can tell you on good authority that part of his problem with Oliseh was how he Bypassed Mikel to Musa even when he (Oliseh) decided to strip him (Enyeama) of the captainship.

And on Recovery, clips from Enyeama's twitter handles of recent and the past weeks will tell you he is on his way to a fine recovery and should be fit before January even.

Finally on Getting a new team and getting game time... now this is where we cannot say with 100% certainty what will happen, but I trust that Enyeama will get a decent team in a decent or top league and get some good gametime on the back of his own reputation as Africa's Finest till now. Time will tell shaa...

Lol.... against Zambia we will surely fly and blow them away if we live up to even half of our boundless potentials as a team. This set is special like you have said with all the beautiful attacking talents and handsome defensive options we got now (minus Echiejile-yes our most experienced and first choice LB- who is on a decline) so I don't see us packing the bus against the Zambians.

They will be very very wary of Our Attack which I reckon is the fastest in Africa right now. Believe me... I just don't wanna sound boastful or anything but we will blow them away that day if we do things right and play our own game.

In the long run, you are right... with a more offensive set-up built on a "Great Wall of China-like" defence, Nigerian football can be repositioned to challenge the world order in the Beautiful game. I think Rohr is aware of our potentials but is just looking at securing Sure Qualification first... Nigeria is trying to make her comeback after two heartbreaks of 2015 and 2017... so relax Sir GoodJoe... I believe Rohr is not blind...

And the bolded is brilliant (hope the NFF does not just limit themselves to NFF U-13 and U-15 and the likes... we gotta emulate Germany in some sense) and yes getting the best players based on who can bring it on more and not "Sentimental nonsense" will take us far down the road of Success and Excellence than bringing the mediocre federal character brouhaha into our team.

We need the best and we indeed got some of the finest rising youngsters around world football. Don't mind the Latest Golden boy nominees list.... No Ndidi in that list really pissed me off.

Sir GoodJoe... I still believe. A new golden Generation will rise... the '94 and '96 classes and Era of the 90s till early 2000s CANNOT BE THE Highest points of our football references.... we can do better.

I'd like to see Emma Daniels push for the 1st choice GK at Orlando pirates.

I believe he has what it takes. Even if Enyeama returns I doubt he'd play further than the world cup.

And if it happens that Ikeme gets healed today, he still won't make it to the world cup.
He'd concentrate more on getting back his health a 100% if not for anything but for the sake of his little daughter.

We've never been lacking of talent in the GK department, and with the names you've put up there, I know for certain our future is bright.

The Nigeria vs Zambia game. One of the major reasons why i believe we will trash zambia is because just like Cameroon they need nothing less than a win hence they will come up offensive and that will really expose them.

Rohr knew Cameroon would come all out to attack which was why he adopted the counter attacking approach.

The Zambians may be good going forward but their fragility at the back will be their major problem.
In the AFCON qualifiers SA sat back and absurbed the pressure from our attack within the first 40mins. I dont see Zambia doing this. They would want to attack because they need an early goal and i trust Rohr to exploit their defensive fragilities. They could be as much as 2 or 3 goals down at half time

I seem not to understand this Sunday Mba thing. Dude was not quality even during the Afcon. O yea he score 2 goals. But his general contributions to the team was poor. Remove the goals and watch the games he played again. Dude was poor technically and otherwise. At d confer everything opened up. Please Etebo, Iwobi and Aluko are miles and miles ahead of the dude.

The same Mikel played behind Sunday Mba as at Afcon.Mba as at 2013 afcon, pls Etebo,Iwobi,Aluko are no match

TAKE A HUG BRO!

This is something else. Sunday MBA to bench etebo or iwobi?? Dude wasn't quality, he scored 2 goals, that was all his contribution.finish. the guy was poor both technically and otherwise. He was lost during confed as well as all the junkies that SK took along with him. Please Etebo and Iwobi are miles ahead of him when you talk of football sense.
Kog45:
pls i based my assertion on Mba of 2013 afcon not Mba of now.Abi not Mba that sent star studded cote d voire packing and gave us only goal in d final,Mba of 2013 in this present squad, then Mikel w need to go back to CM,meaning Onazi w sit out talk less of Etebo

2013 team won Afcon and went to world cup and reach 2nd round,u know i respect this present team a lot but not yet time to compare player like Iwobi or Etebo with Mba of 2013 Afcon, just too early.

so where are the special gems in the league, am sure you are not refering to eze and adeleye...

the year enyimba won the champions league they had the best players in the league from the goal keeping to the striking department, no matter thow bad a team prepare or disorganised they are, if you have quality players it will definitely show in the way you play.
i insist that presently our league is quite poor, we dont have qualities anymore in the league...
TheGoodJoe:

Keep in mind that poor continental performances does not mean there are no quality players in the league. When it comes o player selection, it has to do with individuals and not teams. Disorganization, poor preparation and other factors can affect team performances.

We are talking of discovering special gems in the league.

Since it is now officially covered by the NFF Site itself.... then I think it is only a matter of time.... Welcome Tammy Abraham... now that attack is looking so good.... So England... try to keep up wink

NFF closes up on Tammy Abraham

The Nigeria Football Federation is much closer to securing the services of Chelsea FC of England forward Tammy Abraham, according to NFF President Amaju Pinnick.

Pinnick told the Federation’s website, thenff.com on Wednesday of his meeting with the tall striker, who has represented England at junior level but is eligible to wear the green-white-green for the Super Eagles having never played for the Three Lions.

“Most recently, there was a meeting with Tammy, which Tammy’s agent, Neil Fewills also attended. It was a useful meeting, and I can say the talks are at an appreciable level now and all is looking good.

“Tammy is like a son to me, because his father was my childhood friend. I believe he is a good prospect for the Super Eagles and the effort is well worth it.”

Full name Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham, Tammy scored 23 goals for Bristol City last season on loan from Chelsea FC, and is presently playing for Swansea City in the English Premiership, again on loan from Chelsea. He has scored a goal for Swansea City this season.

Born 2nd October 1997, Tammy is 1.90m tall, and is said to have immense respect for fellow Chelsea FC man Victor Moses, who also played for England at junior level before committing his senior international career to Nigeria.

Another source at the said meeting confirmed to thenff.com that Moses actually called in during the meeting to lend a voice to the call for Tammy to opt to fly with the Eagles rather than hunt with the Lions.

Moses himself has proved a worthwhile ‘catch’ for Nigeria, emerging the Super Eagles’ most valuable player in his first tournament – the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations that Nigeria won in South Africa – and playing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil where the Eagles made the Round of 16.

He has also been an impact player for the Eagles in the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying race, scoring two in the 3-1 triumph over Algeria in Uyo last year and emerging Man-Of-The-Match in both encounters against African champions Cameroon earlier this month. The four points from those two games have taken the Super Eagles within a kissing distance of Russia 2018.

His addition will no doubt boost our attacking options.

I am not sold out on Nwakaeme and Aaron Samuel seems not be ready to come back to his 2014 form.

Any news about Noah Obazee?

The switch of Tammy is dependent on world cup qualification, i am sure. So let's finish the job on October 7, we will have many more willing to switch.
