Eagles List For Zambia – Iwobi Returns, Isacc Success Replaces Aaron Samuel In Standby List
September 21, 2017

Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has been invited by coach of the senior Nigeria national team Gernot Rohr ahead of their crucial World Cup 2018 Qualifiers clash against Zambia in Uyo on the 7th of October.

Iwobi who scored one of the goals in the reverse tie in Ndola where Nigeria triumphed 2-1 missed out in their last games, which was the back to back clash against Cameroon.

Injury was cited as the reason why he didn’t make the squad for the games against Cameroon, and after returning to full fitness ‎he has been invited by coach Rohr for the Zambia Clash where Nigeria need a win to seal a ticket to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Still on the list which will be made official next week, CSKA Moscow forward Aaron Samuel has been axed completely from the list, with Watford ace Isacc Success taking his spot in the list of players placed on standby.

Rohr is a big admirer of the abilities of Success, but left the forward out of the squad for their last set of games as he wasn’t getting games at Watford, but off late he has played in some games.

Success has also not impressed the coach with his body mass, which usually forces the coach to place him on special drills whenever he is in the camp of the Nigeria national team.

I used to know the starting 11 of the Enyimba team but now i cant even name up to 3 players.

Noah Bazee is still out injured but on the recovery train already.... He is expected to return from injury on Sept 28. I believe he is still in Rohr's plans... very much in Rohr's plans but need to return and join his Hannover teammates in making a strong bundesliha campaign statement. Hannover is doing just fine so far.

Icon4s:

His addition will no doubt boost our attacking options.

I am not sold out on Nwakaeme and Aaron Samuel seems not be ready to come back to his 2014 form.

Any news about Noah Obazee?

Some Words of Amaju Pinnick on Tammy's Expected switch

“I had a very honest and productive discussion with Tammy and his father last week.

“It’s been a long process but I can tell you authoritatively that he has agreed to play for Nigeria and not England.

“He and his parents have started the necessary documents to effect the switch.

“Clearly he understands he stands a better chance playing for
the Super Eagles. With his talent he has the ability to fight for a place in the Nigeria squad, by God’s grace we make it to Russia, then he would contest for a chance to represent his fatherland.”

Pinnick added: “I have said it often that my relationship with his father would help and so it was important to speak to them together.

“They are happy with the prospect of playing for Nigeria.

“Of course everyone in England can see what Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi have gone on to achieve with Nigeria.

“We must wait because it is not so straightforward with Fifa. But the important thing is that we have made a big capture by getting Tammy.”

Since it is now officially covered by the NFF Site itself.... then I think it is only a matter of time.... Welcome Tammy Abraham... now that attack is looking so good.... So England... try to keep up wink

NFF closes up on Tammy Abraham

The Nigeria Football Federation is much closer to securing the services of Chelsea FC of England forward Tammy Abraham, according to NFF President Amaju Pinnick.

Pinnick told the Federation’s website, thenff.com on Wednesday of his meeting with the tall striker, who has represented England at junior level but is eligible to wear the green-white-green for the Super Eagles having never played for the Three Lions.

“Most recently, there was a meeting with Tammy, which Tammy’s agent, Neil Fewills also attended. It was a useful meeting, and I can say the talks are at an appreciable level now and all is looking good.

“Tammy is like a son to me, because his father was my childhood friend. I believe he is a good prospect for the Super Eagles and the effort is well worth it.”

Full name Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham, Tammy scored 23 goals for Bristol City last season on loan from Chelsea FC, and is presently playing for Swansea City in the English Premiership, again on loan from Chelsea. He has scored a goal for Swansea City this season.

Born 2nd October 1997, Tammy is 1.90m tall, and is said to have immense respect for fellow Chelsea FC man Victor Moses, who also played for England at junior level before committing his senior international career to Nigeria.

Another source at the said meeting confirmed to thenff.com that Moses actually called in during the meeting to lend a voice to the call for Tammy to opt to fly with the Eagles rather than hunt with the Lions.

Moses himself has proved a worthwhile ‘catch’ for Nigeria, emerging the Super Eagles’ most valuable player in his first tournament – the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations that Nigeria won in South Africa – and playing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil where the Eagles made the Round of 16.

He has also been an impact player for the Eagles in the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying race, scoring two in the 3-1 triumph over Algeria in Uyo last year and emerging Man-Of-The-Match in both encounters against African champions Cameroon earlier this month. The four points from those two games have taken the Super Eagles within a kissing distance of Russia 2018.

Tammy is as good as gotten and dusted. The deal on him switching has kicked off. He is convinced. I think we have bagged Tammy.

As for Dessers... he will get his call-up soon I believe to ward off Belgium but for now Tammy na priority and also among the likes of Dessers, Success or Aaron, Success will offer more now if ever there is a need for an extra body from outside the regulars to come in and do some damage. Dessers is still a newbie but is quality but remember this is the Super Eagles. Aaron is not it for now. But Success is always a danger man. His build and skillset is just enough to fit in with the team.

Rohr still rates Success and I do too and he is still useful to the team. Hope he can sort out his club game time soon enough or make a good move if need be but his quality is not in doubt. If Rohr invites him I have no major complaints.

Korea /Japan we had Ogbeche and Furo Iyenemi
Brazil 2014 was the worst with Uchebo and Gabriel dem
I just pray that with the talents we have at our disposal now we would( when we qualify by God's grace) go with a solid squad.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 3:18pm On Sep 21, 2017
Class is permanent. Success is one player who doesnt need to make noise. His feet does the talking. His fitness and match sharpness, yes... these are issues that are being pondered on because of his lack of or little game time for now but will rather choose him over Aaron.

Dessers will get his chance and invite soon I believe. Even Onuachu, Bonaventure, Olayinka, Samuel Kalu etc still dey wait for call-ups... so Dessers should keep doing his thing. But I hope Belgium dont play vultures like England... because Belgium get ample choices for attack. Pray they don't take notice of Dessers before Rohr gives him his chance.

Anyhow shaa... Tammy is the priority now. Hopefully Dessers (dutchgerian) and a few quality others of Anglo-Nigerian links will follow.

P.S: You have no idea how long I have known the bolded... wink
