What irks me is the string of poor performances , and Southampton was the crescendo. If we keep putting in poor performances we won't win many games. That's the fact. Tell me a team that keeps playing badly and keeps winning.

I didn't even mention free-flowing football. The team should just play like they want to win, act lively and not give the opponent too much leeway to attack.

But it's all cool. Let's move on already. There are better things to talk about.

We can't afford to have all these smaller clubs feel like they can have a go at us if not we will suffer for it. We won Everton by 4 goals but we rode our luck for a large part of the match whether we agree or not that's the truth. The team needs to sit up and keep the ball, that's my own. I think Mkhi needs a break so he can observe from the sidelines, let's try Mata in the hole.

When we pulled together a string of eight consecutive 1-0 wins during Fergie's era (can't remember the year), we didn't play poorly. You could say we played a boring game but it was never poor. We didn't lose possession recklessly, lose all sense of football and just surrender after getting the one goal.

Leicester also went on a run of 1-0 wins during their title winning year (5, I think). They didn't do that by playing poorly. They defended well and when it was time to attack, they attacked well as well.

If you keep losing possession easily and fail to threaten your opponent, you'll get punished.

The team needs to sit up and keep the ball, that's my own. I think Mkhi needs a break so he can observe from the sidelines, let's try Mata in the hole.

We have few players who can distribute the ball and keep possession. Pogba of course is the chief. Then there's Mata and Lingard. These players can travel with the ball and pick a pass in the opponent's half.

Maybe if we play Mata behind the striker and Lingard at the right side with Herrera and Matic in midfield, we'll be able to retain the ball, but there's no guarantee this will work.
