Anything can happen in 13 days, but keeping fingers crossed for you. CIC is unprectable and nobody can tell you when they are likely to give you a decision. Just wait and see and if nothing comes, defer till January. Wait for them to request renewed letter of admission even if you get the renewed papers, just wait for CIC to request it, don't just begin to send it to them. Give them a little challenge too, just like they gave you challenge.
Thanks a mil

Emmm, to everyone who sent me their SOP for review and are yet to get a response from me, please bear with me, i will revert back to everyone hopefully before the end of this week.

I apologize for the delay and also understand you are working against time. My mail box has seen plenty incoming emails lately. I'm trying hard to see that i do the best i can do to revert back on each SOP and other related issues so we can send in our applications or resolve pending issue(s).

I pray our desires would be fulfilling and we achieve the positive outcome.

Regards.

HELLO, everyone.
please make you na help me o, I need advice,
i applied to UofS UG for Chemical Engineering as a transfer student, I was given a conditional admission, I sent the required documents. but didn't have the money to pay the fees while i was waiting for the result of a scholarship I applied for, whose response was negative.
the conditional admission letter stated that resumption was sept 6. not until then, I didn't give up trying to get support from people to get some of the fees.

I didn't understand early enough that I was to start VISA application with the Conditional admission letter i was given.
and so I kept on waiting for full admission letter, and a brief summary of this thread sounds like It takes 4-5 months for Visa processing.

is there any advice u guys have for me about this?
should I just apply to another school afresh this time?

Hello Tttttosin ,

University of British Columbia is a top-ranked school. Is your CGPA 3.83 out of 5? If yes, I will advise you to apply to more schools (if possible, you can rule out UBC). Your chances of getting funding with a CGPA of 3.83/5 is low. (Though, it also depends on your last two years CGPA). You can apply to less competitive schools (like University of Windsor, Wilfrid Laurier University and so on) to increase your chances of admission.

For University of Manitoba, ace your GRE/GMAT exam and make sure you have the minimum score required before applying so that you don't end up wasting your application fees. I made the mistake (I applied before writing my GMAT exam) and despite the fact that I have a high CGPA, my application was not considered because I scored less than the minimum GMAT score required.

Students going for research-based programs also have a higher advantage of getting funding than those going for course-based programs. Apply early and also follow up with your referees.

Most schools in Canada will waive IELTS/TOEFL tests for English Speaking countries including Nigeria.

By the way, I am also a Business Management student. wink

I wish you the best!

Hello,
I applied to UBC also and my C.GPA for last 2 years is 4.68/5.0
Please how do I apply for funding?

LOR means Letter of Recommendation. Follow up with your referees to make sure they reply before the deadline (some Nigerian lecturers are lazy and wouldn't respond at all or some would reply when the deadline has passed). So I will advise you to choose someone who is willing to write a strong and comprehensive letter for you because all these are important aspects of your application. Some programs require academic referees while others require professional referees. Check the school website for details.

Most graduate programs in Canadian Universities do not require GRE except business schools. But, people applying to Canadian Universities do write GRE to bolster their application so as to increase their chances of getting admission and also support their visa application. You can check the school website for the requirements to know if GRE is required or not. Graduate advisors are also friendly and always willing to provide answers to your questions. Contact them if you need any details.

For GRE materials, there is a GRE thread on this forum. You can download lots of materials there and also get tips on how to pass the exam.

If you can submit a strong application, you have a high chance of getting full funding. But, you need to do your research, dot your i's and cross your t's and and commit the rest to God.

It will surely end in praise smiley

P,ease send me link to the GRE thread. Thanks

As far as I know, Canada has only biometrics agreements with only the United States to share in their respective database info. This fact is buttressed by the fact that I have never read a GCMS notes where it said someone applied for a UK, Australia, Germany, Newzealand visas, etc, was denied and refused to disclose it. It's always about applying for USA Visa. If I am wrong someone has ever seen on a denial by CIC where it indicated someone applied for another country other than USA visa and refuse to disclose it, therefore misrepresented, let them speak out!! I stand to be corrected.

On the issue of checking social media and Google to check information about someone, sounds to me like what authoritarian China would do, not a totally freedom loving country like Canada. There is no evidence to back up such assertions that CIC goes looking for people on their Facebook account just because they applied for Canada visa. If they do, that is terribly wrong and unfair. How about if a five year old put some scathing and scandalous information about me on the internet that has no basis in any truth?

That said, I was stopped in my tracks when someone here sent me his GCMS notes and the VO indicated that "online presence," had completed and nothing was found! That one scared the BaJesus out of me. I did not know what to make of online presence that they said they had completed. So will be nice if anyone ever had any experience with this so called "online presence," enlighten the house.

I doubt CIC calls friends of people and referees, I have no experience with tnat. Quite to the contrary,
What I have seen is people frustrated that CIC denied them visa without calling their employers and referees they provided letters from to CIC and Kept those friends and referees everyday on standby, should CIC call.

My five cents.

They do, google 'The high value data sharing protocol'

ok cool...nywaiz u have to spell your experience in the IT world and your professional certificates...about transfer of tuition fee it depends...but if u r not ready to spend a little more to be on a safer side...u could go on wit ur brother as ur co-sponsor...all the best

I studied mathematics and statistics, in unilag. I have two years working experience working in a private IT company. Even though I was in the admin dpt I was privileged to learn from the IT guys and I've taken classes previously in Ccna & Mcsa where I sat and passed the Mcsa 410 & Mcsa 411 module. About my brother transferring the tuition fee to my dads account won't the bank exchange rate affect thereby causing me to spend more ?

Good evening!
I contacted a Lecturer at MUN for Supervision and he told me he didn't have space and money now for another student.
But he suggested I get a scholarship letter even if it's from a relatives company,so he can take me in.
What step should I take from here,I am applying for fall 2018

Hello,

Check the program's website for details on how to apply for scholarship/funding. Sometimes, students are considered automatically for entrance scholarships and with your CGPA, you have a great chance of being considered.

"At UBC Sauder, our entrance scholarships are based on merit, going to candidates who display an outstanding combination of talent, drive, professional potential and academic achievement. We take a merit-based holistic view of what each talented candidate brings into the program. Applicants are automatically considered for every applicable scholarship upon submission, and are assessed on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) academic achievement, business drive, application essays" (Culled from the program's website).

A brother who is in USA for the past 4weeks (on a 4month visit) just called me and said he just received his admission letter from one of the college in Canada for winter (January) and would like to apply for student visa immediately but the concern is that must he rush down to Nigeria to apply of is there a way he can apply over there in USA.

Please respond urgently if you know something o.

To the gurus in the house, please am trying to deal with the issue of home tie, please will birth certificate of my family members be good enough. If so, their birth certificates are not NPC certificate but local birth certificates and court declaration of age, please will it be acceptable.

More so, can I show a court document stating my dad's has been transferred to me after his demise or just the house document with my dad's name is ok.
