Good day Please I gained admission for a master's degree program at the University of Manitoba since May 2017. But the company sponsoring is an Indian one and has refused to tender it's bank statement rather they are ready to pay my all my schooling and leaving expenses for one year. The problem now is that they just paid this October 2017 and I just want to apply. I don't have much in my bank account although the department gave a scholarship of 1500 CAD. I am expected to resume school by January. Do you think November and December is enough weeks to be granted a visa? Below are the only documents I have Original acceptance letter Visa forms International passport Receipts of one year payment for school fees, accommodation and living expenses Personal account statement which has less than 100k Plus letter of explanation. 1 Like 1 Share |

Those people who are having CGPA that cannot flash a number to ring, make una continue oooo *Modified* The above post was a joke just to ease the tension while we await our TRVs. I'm sorry if it got anyone offended. I pray God grants all of us Visa success in Jesus name, Amen. |

Radiantblessing: You have your future in your HANDS. And why not Google all you need to submit your form on time and if your coy statement of account is highly important let the embassy know in a letter that due to your coy policy the statement can not be released, but school fees had been paid by your company, back it up wth a letter from your office. . wth evidences.I believe they can confirm from your company. Please also get an imigration lawyer to help you out. Do not miss this chance. GOODLUCK. |

Philadelphia: Hello Bro, This your post, na wa o. The purpose of this thread is to assist and encourage others not to mock them. Words are interpreted in different ways. Some people with low CGPA can see this your post and start feeling bad about themselves. It is not everybody that will graduate with a First Class Honours. This is the reason why we have different classification of degrees. Each person's intellectual capacity is different. Moreover, getting admission is a lot more than just having a high CGPA. An applicant's CGPA is only an aspect of the admission application process. I hope you understand the point that I'm trying to make. I wish you the best! 13 Likes |

SPOILT9JAOLOSHO: One other sure way is to marry someone in canny land and let her sponsor you as a family member to join her. OR Marry a Nigerian lady with brains ready to study upon study I.e. your nairaland target if her number rings by chance, finance her and apply for open work permit with her study permit. Just my opinion based on your interest on .... 8 Likes |

SPOILT9JAOLOSHO: Yes you can change your course even your DLI but I doubt if you can systematically convert a year TRV to a two year TRV except if you switch to a two year program which will help you secure your 3 years PGWP. |

jnyuwa02: I think you misunderstand my comment. I am not saying that visa decisions are primarily driven by who is more likely to contribute to Canada, my argument is that being a well put-together applicant increases the chances of getting the visa. VOs are humans and are less likely to give a visa to an applicant with a shoddy application, even if the applicant technically meets all the requirements. Don't forget that while VOs should follow Canadian immigration law, the government gives them significant latitude and discretion on these decisions. jnyuwa02:I agree that VOs respect honesty. But then people get denied after having returned home to get a visa, so I don't think it's as cut-and dried as you say. jnyuwa02:Many would disagree with you on this point. In Silicon Valley, it is primarily foreigners that are driving the cutting edge of technology. And they are highly respected. Think Satya Nadella. Think Elon Musk. Think Sundar Pichai. I have Nigerian friends in top roles in Silicon Valley and are highly respected. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I think you see Nigeria with rose-colored glasses because you are visiting, and haven't lived the experiences of most young Nigerian graduates who are mostly unable to get jobs, and also don't have foreign experience as you have. I am not asking to be pessimistic about Nigeria, I'm just a realist. I think there are opportunities in Nigeria and there are people doing well in Nigeria, but that doesn't undermine the reality of things. Edited: Where I agree with you is that in Nigeria, we respect people with money even if said people plundered society to get said money. In more developed societies, people are respected [mostly] based on contributions to society. I don't think it is a thing to be proud of that Nigeria respects people with money even if the source of the money is unclear. Having money, by itself, shouldn't be a reason to be respected. 8 Likes |

LordSir1: No. The one year masters will give u 1 year PGWP. Except if the masters is 18 months, you might get 3 years with the hope it can be considered 2 years MSC. |

Gascoigne:Emmmm, while i would have loved to help you out with whatsoever it is privately , i like to consider others that may be in your situation or dealing with same issue. I suggest you spill it here so that aside myself, you can get different opinion or suggestions from others about it and so everybody can benefit from the various point views. This is what we usually encourage here bro. Notwithstanding, if it's to review a statement of purpose, i'll gladly help out. Regards. 2 Likes |

pvc4real: Can the switch be done halfway in the initial stages of the 1yr program, say 2/3months after been enrolled, or immediately after approval/landing. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by pvc4real: 8:38pm On Oct 16, 2017 |
SPOILT9JAOLOSHO: It can be done anytime especially upon arrival after getting your study permit. So securing admission into another program that is longer will help a lot even if you have to switch DLI. You just have to notify CIC once this happens knowing your first institution will update them of your absence from school. 1 Like |

SPOILT9JAOLOSHO: It is fine. You just have to note that she has to be registered in school and you will probably wait months give and take 8-12 months to process your own open work permit. Family sponsorship is your route here. 1 Like |
